  1. Sorry , I would add Arsenal as well
  2. Chelsea 1890-2000 more like I think it's pretty hard to argue that Liverpool and Man U aren't the biggest clubs in England. When I was a youth the big 5 (as it was then), were Arsenal, Man U, Liverpool, Tottenham and Everton...
  3. Do the turn 'em inside out trick and you can stretch that to four
  4. You still wearing them on the outside of your trousers Honnie?
  5. Of cousre it is kind of subjective but I'm not at all sure the Prince of Wales has achieved National Treasurehood status and certainly Cowell and others mentioned haven't.........
  6. To be clear, I meant as a generalisation not specific to OP
  7. An observation, no doubt unwelcome by many of you but it's a pity that there is no MIL's board as at the risk of being contentious everything seems a bit black and white - DIL not at fault at all. MIL 100% to blame - I'm sure its very difficult and many MIL's are but.......I do question a little bit that it's all down to MIL.
  8. Victim
  9. Boring old sh1te again...didn't last long did it
  10. "It can be argued that man's instinct to gamble is the only reason he is still not a monkey up in the trees." - Mario Puzo
  11. They did. NI goes up shortly and the top rate has gone up for higher eraners and didn't they freeze allowances?
  12. You're a forum treasure
  13. Tony Benn - would have put most of us in gulags and our economy in the stone Age, described Mao Se Tung "as the greatest person of the 20th Century" and was probably the individual most responsible for the rise of thatcherism....yet, he's a cuddly old tea drinking democrat nowadays.
  14. It was inspired by your rubbish thread in the first place MM
  15. ..and the Guardian, who just think they are
  16. Stephen Fry Yes he's witty, to a point, he's also 'erudite' etc,,,I suspect he's probably not a bad bloke. But I just read his autobiography - he has no real depth, seriously, he admits it himself to be fair. He doesn't really think aboiut things just has a photographic memory and is a walking Theasauras, all clever words and no thought. He only got a 2.1 FFS. His acting is limited, although he plays that role well and his writing is b+ at best I'm going to side with Julie Burchill, he's a thick person's idea of a clever person.
  17. Got a spare E rosie?
  18. David Beckham has made the most of his undoubted talent as a footballer and his good looks to make a fortune. He has spoken out more vocally than many against racism and homophobia and seems on balance a rthoroughly decent man far, far better than many of his contemparies. ....and yet, and yet, us no marks from SE22 come out with the normal tall poppy shite like talentless, useless, lucky from the cosyness of our computers and our manifest lack of achievement Zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz.
  19. It's not just a Oh a Waitrose - that'll increase competition, it's also that a whole load of similar profiled Retailesr apply a 'Me too' policy to certain flagship retailers ie 'if they are there we should be'. So more chains, higher rents less independendts nothing to do with their qualilty or not. Next stop Upper Street
  20. Are you going to the fart smelling place?

  22. No. keep local indies, we'll end up like Bromley
  23. This gets even more ironic given BeryyCherry's post on the NYE thread!

It's so tight we moved up 5 places and got out of the bottom 3 for the first time but played a game more than all and 2 more than some. Still think we'll go but 8/12 points over Xmas has helped.
  25. Genuine 'must win' game for the Irons today :-S
