  1. Wasn't that the point woof?
  2. yup - and something to take away much of our talent from the casino over the river there. Almoste heresy for me but I think the government should do more to encourage and support this. eg in renewables or whatever.
  3. Oh I know that Brendan, no-one can afford to let it topple...let's hope we don't have a currency crisis or interest rates will go up and there will be carnage. Longer term we're just going to have to inflate our way out of the stupid asset bubble or creep along like Japan with minimum economic growth, no inflation, static prices.
  4. ????

    Earth Hour

Zzzzzzzzzzz assuaging liberal guilt before everyone puts back on theit Laptops, flat screens and goes for a funky weekend break in New York etc

Ruffers - it was just before a World Cup maybe...I think 1986? I remember we all went on the pitch at the end and chanted "You'll be back, you'll be back" at the City fans in the Southbank who clapped back before a big joint chorus of "Ingerland", a bit of mutual respect.
  8. Come on Brendan, it exists

  10. Not much he could do really - room for manouevre etc. Nice to see that one of the things that got us into the mess in the first place hugely overpriced assetts (er, our homes) are being encouraged to stay overpriced.

  12. Zola now just above evens, my influence affect prices THAT quickly ;-)
  13. West Ham - Betfair Zola William Hill All according to oddschecker....Sullivan's apparently meeting with Zola this pm...could all be bull obviously
  14. 10% on cider ...the twat. Revolution I tell ya. *hics and falls over pitchfork*
  15. What? an ex-Watford supporting twat? Don't see it myself
  16. For non-hammesr fans 3/1 on relegation looks value! Plus you can still get 2/1 on Zola to be next manager gone which looks well worth it.
  17. Personally I'm still at least interested in looking at national universal adult income (removing much benefit bureacracy) backed up by decent benefits for those in need eg disability, carers, plus redistributive significantly higher tax thresholds giving it at source rather than back through benefits

But for those of us who remember just how much they completley dominated the domestic game in the 70s and especially 80s then at first (ie a few years ago) I was quite happy when they stopped winning league titles and cups almost unchallenged and gave others a chance! I don't believe they'll go into complete 'meltdown' as their heritage and 'brand' (pukes) and global fanbase is far too big for that. I think i'd be far happier if they won the Premiership next year than Man U or Chelsea say.

I think Dowie will give Hull some momentum. We've a better squad than most teams in the bottom half - the buck has to stop with Zola and Clarke. Zola interviewed last night sounded like a broken man way out of his depth...he's gone from a kind of mantra of smiley optimism to broken with no anger inbetween. I think he should go today, not sure if he will.
  21. Harriet Harman knows what's best for you, me everybody...she's just one of those awful busybody people. Tha answer to 8) is NO by the way.
  22. Zola got to go...lost the team and the fans and he knows it. We're a fickle bunch not like those mickeys.
  23. Well. Can someone tell me eaxctly what this 'equality' thing is please then? Or is it just a vague progressive concept that everyone decent says matters? "An equal Britain" ....what is that?
  24. I gave up my car for 18 months a few years ago, pre-kids. I wish that Streetcar had been around then as I had to conventional hire which was a pain and generally ruled out 'spontaneous' road trips. With kids it just wouldn't be pratical for me but this makes sense.
