  1. Sorry saffron I didnt see your post:)
  2. PMDD? It is recognised and treated in scandinavia, not much help for you I know I just wanted to offer some sympathy. What did your GP suggest? In Sweden AD's are often prescribed for oart of the cycle to combat some of the symptoms you describe. Hopefully someone with more knowledge will be around soon (saffron?).
  3. *Now resolved* Thanks everyone
  4. Can anyone help with urgent childcare on Friday 8.30-18.30? My plan A,B,C,D and now E have fallen through and I am pretty desperate. Anyone out there at all? My son is 4.
  5. I would advice to buy one of the strap things that you can hold onto so that you can control their speed. My son started scooting at 2, he picked it up in a couple of minutes and it was terrifying, he was so fast it was ridiculous. He had no concept at all of danger at that age (and his listening was at zero) so it was a recipe for disaster. I had never envisaged how quickly he would pick it up or how fast he would be and was completely unprepared for that. Obviously, a personality thing, some of his friends who are more cautious in nature did not have the same issues at all. I just wanted to throw a word of caution into the mix and the tip of the strap so that you can restrain the speed if necessary and also help pull them along if needed, which is what they are for although for us it was simply used for speed control and to make him aware of danger.
  6. Tricky one, after 12 years I feel a really strong sense of belonging to the area and my son has so many friends. We have desperately outgrown our flat but as long as we stay a family of 3 I think we will stay put. I have looked at houses further afield and would love a garden, more storage etc but to me, this is home. I hope we can stay, we are looking into ways to extend our flat to make it work better for us. My dream is for my son to have what silly woman describes, "roots."
  7. Hello, glad the curly kids range was good! Like you say, trial and error until you find something that suits. We use Aveeno in this house too. My son is really dry and eczema prone and I have found Aveeno best. I use the bath oil for bath and shower and the cream oil to moisturise his body all over (twice a day). For his face/elbows/knees I use the cream in the tube or waitrose baby butter.
  8. Update: we have been to see the dentist today and the tooth does appear a little loose😔. A case of wait and see, nothing that can be done. Fingers crossed that it stays put.
  9. Awww, curly toddler girl hair! Right, I have recentley had to learn some of this for my child. It depends on her hair, is the curl loose or tight? Mixed race or black hair? By no means an expert but we have used and like a brand called curly kids, they do curl cream for moisture and hold as well as schampoo and conditioners. They also have sprays and gels. We have also used twisted sister I think it is called, it is a leave in spray for moisture, they also do curl creams and gels. It is a jungle but I have had great help from the shops on rye lane. I have a habit of stopping people with curly hair and ask what they use. Everyone has been happy to share tips. I have been surprised with the care that is needed, so much moisture! My son who has short hair needs curl cream at least once a day to stop his hair from drying out and itching. In desperation I have been known to use moroccan oil....trying not to make a habit out of it as too expensive. If she has loose curls I would try the curly kids range.
  10. Hoping that there will be a good turnout for the meeting in May.
  11. I know her;) will ask her to resend.
  12. Thank you Carbonara and Renata, again very helpful!
  13. Thanks Renata, as always very helpful. I have tried to phone what I believed to be the admissions number but was informed by voicemail that they closed at 5.00pm. I have a few questions relating to waiting lists that I would like to speak to someone about.
  14. That sounds like a good solution. For what it is worth, I have only left my son once, with his dad, and he is 4!! My parents were away a lot when I was a child and I just have not been comfortable with leaving him so I can completely understand where you are coming from. It sounds like you are doing what you are comfortable with, good for you!!
  15. Thanks Renata, very helpful!
  16. Does anyone know if you are advised your waiting list position this evening as well?
  17. Ha Ellie! ,fjgb i know!
  18. Aww thanks everyone! We will def have an xray. Will report back how he gets on.
  19. I cant believe the turn has come for 2011-2012 children, it seems like yesterday we were all posting about feeding, baby massage and weaning. Wishing you all the best of luck for Monday!
  20. Thanks again. Shen, you havent worried me at all, I really appreciat all of you sharing your experiences. May I ask if you self ref to Kings or did your regular dentist do it? Only asking as perhaps I could take him to Kings myself and not wait until the 28th April.
  21. Thanks everyone! Thank you Sally for reassurance. The tooth does not look that bad (several people including my oh say they cant see it) but it is really upsetting to think that he might loose it. I am really kicking myself for not seeking help straight away but I seriously thought he had just hurt his lip at the time. The tooth doesnt bother him at all, no pain or sensitivity anymore. The main thing of course is that he is not hurt. I cant help but feel really upset at the thought of his lovely teeth going grey/be taken out. I have phoned a few dentists and as it is his milk teeth and he is not in any pain the concensus seem to be to wait and see. None of the ones I have phoned has suggested that it is an emergency.
  22. On Easter sunday my son managed to bump heads with the Easter bunny. He scraped his lip but his teeth seemed fine, not loose, bleeding in mouth seemed to come from his lip. He then had an ice lolly a few days later and said his mouth was hurting. I stupidly assumed it was because his lip was still sore. Now a couple of weeks later I have noticed that his front tooth has gone darker, a pinkish grey colour. I am so worried about it! The tooth is not loose, there is no bleeding and my son says it doesnt hurt when he eats or drinks. Obviously, i have made an appointment with the dentist but it is a couple of weeks away. Any words of wisdom?
  23. Hello, I have no direct experience to share but did not want to read and run. Have you had a chat with her school to see if your child displays the same behaviour at school? Perhaps they can share some strategies or tips with you? I have read a book called the explosive child which I found useful when my son my younger. It sounds like she founds certain situations overwhelming, Do you know what situations she finds hard to manage? Are they at school or at home, or both? Has she always been like this or has something changed in her routine? My son was very explosive about this time last year and I was really worried about it. As it turned out, he was deeply unhappy at his then nursery, which made him very anxious. He was stressed and deeply unhappy. Once we changed his nursery he has become a completely different little boy and the change in him was almost instant. Could it be something that is troubling her at school? I am sure someone with more experience will come along in a minute and give some better advice.
