Tiny Little Things That Cause You Irrational Rage

Does anyone know how often Ofsted reviews take place? I understand that there was a new reform from September 2015 where good or above institutions were to be reviewed every 3 years. Having looked at a lot of schools in the recent months it appears that several of them have reports from 2012. Should that not mean that a newer one (2015) should now be available for the public to view? This is just a general point of interest by the way, obviously the choices are already made by now (and I must admit that Ofsted reports themselves were of little importance to us as we made them). I just had a read now out of interest and it appeared that a lot of them are rather dated and may not give an entirely accurate view of the current situation at a school. Can anyone enlighten me?

Of course Sue, tou are right. Although i must admit it did without a doubt put me off. We know the area the driver was based (well where his van was from at least. The van was branded so a quick google gave us a good idea (and made reporting the police alot easier).

We were looking at a house towards bromley when a white van pulled up and the driver started doing monkey chants and gestures towards my black husband and our then 20 month old baby...It broke my heart, absolutely killed me to have my amazing other half and tiny baby violated like that. Still makes me teary 2yrs on. We swiftly got back in the car and drove home to peckham. I am staying here, cramped as it is in our tiny flat, we are safe from those racist bigots. Welling/Eltham def out on the same grounds.

I have also heard great things about little jungle, well worth a visit. I have visited banana moon several times over the last few years and the baby room does seem lovely and staff very caring. I didnt go for it in the end due to lack of outside space (but my child was alot older at 3). I have friends who are very happy with colour box on Ivydale Road. Others have said great things about mother goose on waverly avenue. As your baby is still quite young have you thought of a childminder? We used yeeha childcare when out boy was little and that was a nice balance between nanny and nursery.

Bawdy-nan, your post made me cry. Your son sounds a beautiful soul! I am so hapoy to hear he is thriving. My son although much much younger had a similar experience at nursery to what you describe your son had at his first school. It has been awful and traumatic and I can really sympathise (right down to the mean parent thing). Changing nursery has been the making of my son and he is thriving now. He suffered alot of anxitey as a result of the previous nursery "the teachers say I am not a kind boy mummy" which has taken alot of work from us and his new nursery to overcome. The new nursery has been fantastic in reassuring him and it is now slowly becoming a distant memory. I will never forgive myself for letting him be so unhappy for so long. He is certainly "high spirited" and always will be but as his new key worker says, that is only one part of who he is. He is also kind, funny, popular with other children, curious and loving life. The right environment (which obviously is different to each child) is so important.

Had a discussion with a dear friend today about birthday cakes, following which I convinced myself that I could bake a batman cake for my sons 4th birthday. Here is the thing, apart from banana bread, cinnamon buns and the odd ninja turtle cupcakes (from a box) I have never baked anything, ever. I need a backup, nice local cakes, where can I get one?

Help getting my sleep back on track post baby
midivydale replied to bels123's topic in The Family Room Discussion
I really feel for you, have you had a look at the sleep hygene factors? I had similar issues post baby and got help from my gp in the end, general anti depressants (to help with my anxiety)sleeping tablets and cbt helped. I still often struggle and have to be very strict with things like caffeine and regular bedtimes. I feel for you, sleep deprivation sucks, really sucks. -

midivydale replied to Ellie78's topic in The Family Room Discussion
Anna79, yes ellie is right. A few of our choices are lewisham based and I did not need to submit docs as i live in southwark. I phoned admissions to double check (praying she is right). -

Haberdasher?s primary school feedback please
midivydale posted a topic in The Family Room Discussion
Hi there, I was wondering if there are any current parents of Haberdashers primary school (or indeed free school) that could give me some feedback please? Positive as well negative, any thoughts or opinions would be greatly received. I am particularly interested in thoughts and opinions on pastoral care. Many Thanks in advance PS I know all about small catchments etc so need to comment to that effect. Thanks -
Abit of a cliche this time of year (new years resolutions and all that) but does anyone have any recommendations to share? Not for hypnobirth, general hypnotherapy. Thanks

really good highlights wanted
midivydale replied to midivydale's topic in The Family Room Discussion
Have been meaning to update this. After recommendations on this thread I went to see Chloe at the Galleon and I am so so hapoy with the result. Lovely girl too. We were chatting for ages about the colour, what I wanted (a toned down golden/honey blonde) and didnt want (stripey peggy mitchell blonde) and I am so happy and pleased. The colour has lasted really well too which was a requirement for me as unable to afford having my hair done every few weeks. I was honest and said i needed something low maintanence due to time/money issues and she was realltly good at suggesting colour/techniques and styles to suit. Just wanted to mention if there are other tricky blondes out there. -
Dad in our house is abit like this I afraid. Not at all impressed when he overheard ds asking me if he could have pjetty jed nails too and i said of course! Different cultures and all that. In country where I am from the fear of gender stereotyping is taking some extreme forms (hence me not batting an eyelid at ds wanting his nails painted)...country where my partner's parents are from, not so much. One of our culture clashes, one of very many I should add 😉
