  1. Good point, I did forget the internet. No point pretending that's not a major factor I still think there is a place for printed paper - be it newspaper or whatever. But I'm not sure if enough people agree with me
  2. But of course PR - next available slot is curry club this coming Wednesday. Which means FHT beforehand
  3. @ quids - No, see previous answer to matthew123. Mmmmm... moss! ok my questions has been answered so I'm aiming next one at LeagleEagle-ish What do you miss most about your "old days"?
  4. chuffin' 'ell keef
  5. tsk - breaking the rules already matthew ;-) was that at me or keef? Assuming me, I'm going with - part 2 is the question I'm asking, part 1 is just confirming an assumption keef's was just one question and you know it
  6. Surely that's to be expected during the initial stages tho Applespider - we are talking about a major shift in behaviour so it will take time I imagine when they did away with that fella waving a fkag in front of the car there was an outcry too - about safety AND job losses but we surely wouldn't go back? I'm not decided on this yet - I think it's an interesting direction and I'd like to see it work. Whether it will remains to be seen
  7. name a forumite ask them one question and one question only To: Quids Is it my imagination or have you softened your public persona since coming to drinks, and if so can we draw any conclusions from this?
  8. We all have extra chili oil with our American Hots right?
  9. Jah - you made me laugh with the Swiss Tony thing, bless you
  10. edited for being bad but keef -what is with this accusations of nice - why you of all people know I am an international hitman
  11. I never hung around with ANYONE at school. Good, bad or indifferent.. Oh I know that. And I do. But I can't SAY....
  12. Ah I can speak about that - having just broken through the 40 barrier a few months ago. Relax, you'll be fine - so far so good anyway! Plus you look about 10 years younger so you have an advantage over the rest of us
  13. unmarried brother? I have a selection... what age would you like? But why would I inflict either of them on you... people who think I'm a drama-queen. Sheesh Oh and let's hear it for the word "munter" - haven't heard it for ages!
  14. Aw chuff - Happy Birthday. Poor you - pukey flu? or pukey "my own fault"
  15. Wouldn't it be feasible that blind people would be noticed (I'm guessing some sort of dog/cane/glasses combo might give the game away) by drivers who would react accordingly?
  16. Shops tend to be much worse than restaurants/bars. Staff in bars tend to look super-grateful, but shop assistants would curdle milk I've gotten free pints in pubs before for handing back the wrong change Best one ever was ni St Andrews - we stayed in a tiny hotel which had a very nice restaurant - we rang up an 80 quid bill in the evening. When we checked out the next day the ?80 was missing - so I pointed it out to the receptionist who double-checked with the bar. Then she said "well, its not your fault the bar staff are slack" and didn't charge us! With a heavy wallet and a pure heart did we drive off for... well, Dundee as it happened.
  17. nah - we tend to only remember the times against us. Many a restuarant or shop has undercharged me and I always go back. the worst time was a few years back, Christmastime and I was in Clintons Cards just writing that makes me wonder what I was doing - but anyway. I queued for aaages. Bought my card and left - realised half way back to work she had given me change for a tenner instead of the fiver I gave her. Went back. Queued for aaaages again. Got the same woman. Explained her mistake. She didn't know what to do. Then she and the crowd got ansty behind me for holding the place up!!

  19. jobs a good 'un
  20. sorry - I read the above to mean that - we have stopped doing it so we used to? And I'm doubly sorry if this turns into a pedantic spin-off - my first thoughts were as above - I hope she is ok. I have had partners report similar things to me in the past and whilst I didnt necessarily want to kneecap anyone (well, not after the red mist departed) it does make the blood boil. Isn't it Japan where this is a major problem on their tubes? or was it and they introduced measures to stop it?
  21. you don't get off that lightly young Tone Curry Club? One of the book clubs? Or just post you'll be in the area one evening, anyone fancy a pint?
  22. Pretty horrible experience and I hope she's ok But neither it nor a fear to respond is a new thing is it? I remember my mum telling me similar stories from 40-50 years ago. I don't think it's a "sign of the times"
  23. no in crowd about it Tony - just show up fer cryin out loud
  24. Depends what the petition was - if it was in a petition looking to support better education (ie one I agree with) then yeah of course I would correct them - they look silly Ifit was a petition to stop spelling nazis (which I mostly agree with) then no I wouldn't - I would assume it was ironic Typo = fine Can't spell = fair enough Can spell but are too lazy to correct? = hmmmmmmm
  25. everytime I see one of these guys' vans pootle around I can't help myself giggling Name speaks for itself ok so it's not a placename but still
