  1. Books, CD's and DVDs are too depressing to shop for come Christmas Time - it's MOR city (but I do recommend the Brendon Burns DVD to everyone)
  2. you did, I haven't (waiting to finish another show first) But I fear we are venturing a tad off-topic!
  3. speaking of iPlayer - has anyone with a Wii used the iPlayer on it? It sure beats gathering around a laptop to watch a programme
  4. you can't even BEGIN to compare the Road with Survivors, Moos! (he said, breaking cover)
  5. Is that not tomorrow? Happy birthday anyway georgia! Meanwhile another forum ite. . Who is an asset to us all. . . Is celebrating hers today
  6. Leaving aside for a moment just what constitutes "English", you do have a point there Hollybush. One of my bugbears when I go back to Exeter is the relatively recent development on the south side of the quay - which they have called Piazza Terracina - which is just mind-boggling in it's awfulness, both in name and contents Some time back on this forum, Louisa posted some cracking pictures of Peckham Rye station (which I imagine can be found on the websites lined to on this thread) and it truly is fantastic. But just how exactly does one get rid of Lloyds TSB, Jenny's and the rest?
  7. Tone, love.. what does any of that unfortunate side-effect of living in the sticks have to do with PCSOs?
  8. A screenshot of the inbox might be useful karter? Another possibility is that it was sent to more than one person and that the recipient did a Reply All? I'm sure you would know if you had addd more than one person but still. Another possibility again is that the recipient replied to you but added another name in case they thought you might be logged in on another PC? Given the amount of PMs I send on the number of PCs I send them, I'm amazed that if there is a bug it has never affected me
  9. well that says more about the voting public than it does anything else. Turkeys and Christmas come to mind. Nose/Face/Spite is another phrase
  10. Agree with Jeremy and what quids is getting at But would add that isn't it strange how these stories hit our conciousness, tickle our prejudices and outrage neurons and then feck off back to the ether. Quids quoting two cases and then "genuinely not knowing" the outcome is all too common - I tried looking up the cases (albeit briefly) and couldn't find a conclusion either.
  11. look, everyone banging on about how it's simply entertainment.. the people who actually bother to enter the thing really do care about learning how to dance and put a lot of graft into it - if you stick with the message "we don't care about the quality of dancing we just like the chuckles", you won't get any bleedin contestants
  12. ooh you beat me to it BJL A top post indeed, the sound of nail being hit firmly on head. Plenty of lines to pick out but I'm going to go with
  13. I picked the book up today funnily enough David Simon - you are sure his other TV work was nothing special?? try The Corner and Homicide Life on the Streets!! oh wait - you were winding me up
  14. was open when I passed yesterday Don't go expecting it to look radically different!
  15. Hmm - I did a double-take when I saw the author..
  16. I was being devil's advocate a little bit oggers and I see your point - but I would genuinely argue that the BNP/Policeman combo is as valid as the 2 examples I gave But then Keef makes a good point about how far can you go down that road as well - although even a proper old-school Tory is some way removed from what the BNP are after surely? You could say the same about left-wing police (there might be!) and say, fox-hunting in teh days when it was legal But there is some distance between personal beliefs opposed to others AND what the BNP are aiming for, which is just beyond the pale. Trying hard not to invoke Godwin's law here but there was a time when the world was united in saying "never again" right?
  17. Basically, last 3 posts have answered for me Lard.
  18. Blimey oggers - you'll be saying that only the BNP is not an approved organisation now and that old hook-hands Hamza is probably allowed to teach next We are surely comfortable with the fact that there ARE organisatinos we don't allow people membership of in certain professions aren't we? How many Jehova's Witnesses do you want in your local blood transfusion unit? (although to be fair that example is more likely to be teh JW's not putting themselves forward, but still...)
  19. Anyone googling the LIST of BNP MEMBERS should now also find a pretty funny dialogue between Maurice Levy.. er I mean the BNP solicitor and the website owner
  20. What, even though there is now an hilarious selection of emails posted by the BNP legal team and the web site owner???
  21. well, that and having small feet
  22. Whoop de doo. You appear to be confusing prejudice with logic PCSO's can multitask and look out for not just cyclists but your litter droppers as well (plus whatever other low-level stuff is going on) - in the short term it has an effect and in the longer term it might even change people perception about the acceptability of dropping the f****ing litter in the first place. Then we won't need to pay for streetcleaners Bargain, no?
  23. The hair I originally chose (which resembles my actual hair) was described by Lady Mac as ... cocky So I've gone for this and will aim to grow into it in real life
  24. Piers - quick! Spelling error ahoy!
