  1. Got around to watching Brooker's screenwipe last night - a good longish section on this whole thing - including a barely alive old man weeping uncontrollably - oh no wait... it's Andrew Sachs being all dignified and that Screenwipe on Brand/Ross/Sachs
  2. Ah but that IS the point PGC. Harbouring deep unnatractive prejudices we can't do much about - allowing people to flaunt them we can. And probably should
  3. nope, Microsoft are but I'm giving an unbiased opinion ;-)
  4. Here is my knowledge If I was a black person, an asian person or indeed an Irish person living here 20 years ago, I would already feel suspicious of the police. If I also know they are a member of a party that wants me out of the country.. weeeellllll - it doesn't make for effective law r'n order does it?
  5. And now we hear that people want their money back from the phone votes because they feel cheated by Sarge leaving the show Apparently "entertainment" and "charity" are not words close to these peoples hearts after all
  6. and just why haven't you bothered yet, Mr Onion?? I installed Orange box on the HD last night - not game in any way optimised for HD use but still noticeably different - esp when dying and restarting. And I finished the main HL2 last night - fired up ep 1 afterwards and already y can see advances in the source engine the new updateto the dash seems to have made everything brighter as well - or is that just me?
  7. hey! what the f*** did he do???
  8. It's like you are in the room!
  9. Seanmlow is a moderator???!!!
  10. You should be able to login to "http://live.xbox.com/en-GB" And you'll find it (well - yours) there
  11. * through gritted teeth * I thought we had decided to stop with the SB thing!
  12. Am I missing summat? What has this got to do with ED, marcroban?
  13. Series 1-5 of the Wire Ok, seriously - Best Buy was - I did a major kitchen pots and pans haul in a now-defunct store in Peckham that was just mind-blowingly good value and quality.
  14. Oh - and welcome to the forum Mick Mac
  15. good shout RosieH - and you will find me there often enough I miss Inside 72 still (found some snaps of it on it's final day just last night) and although I used to watch sport in the old Mag(s) I much prefer it's new incarnation - I've moved my sport watching to EDT, Hoopers and maybe CPT (if I'm not watching at home)
  16. Sue: We can't just stop picking up people on racist behaviour if we are going to be intimidated by a few posts on a forum. In my experience people displaying genuinely racist beliefs get picked up on quite a lot here
  17. Well Rosie if it's a 40 something man, with curmudgeonly views who has never quite escaped his 1980's self, why didn't you just SAY so???
  18. (with advance apologies to a certain forumite - trust me you are not the only one sending these to me) how can I stop people sending them to me?? Not that I would buy anything in Threshers anyway (over sugared wines, contributions to Tory party yadda yadda - all the reasons you would expect from.. well, me) But surely the whole thing stinks a bit? Didn't they claim in previous years that it was a mistake? It's all just poxyviral marketing, one step up from those apocyphal emails about findding a fleet of cars in a a warehouse if you ask me Not to mention they might actually be malicious http://www.webuser.co.uk/news/102970.html I've had 8 of the fekkin things today - make it stop!!
  19. I agree with RosieH. And Brendan. And usually Bon3yard! I've definitely witnessed lots of abuse heaped on (in these cases) an innocent driver. Given the hours, facilities at each end ofthe route, and general London traffic I'm amazed they don't go postal more often. Which isn't to excuse the behaviour outlined above but if the battles lines are strictly "Joe Public v Bus Drivers" I'm not sure I would fight exclusively for one side or t'other
  20. Whilst mildly amusing, given the thread topic has this not become a little insensitive. Even for The Lounge? (not that I didn't have to re-read PGC's post twice before going "aahhhh") I think I'm getting old!
  21. Sounds like the judges are taking it a LOT less seriously than some of the public
  22. I read the small biter's last post as being a little bit "I might have blown off a lot of steam but as I don't seem to be winning this argument how about we all get along? Here for starters I'll crack a small joke" or am I being hopelessly naive?
  23. packs of 3? what ARE you suggesting?? ;-)
  24. is there a legal political party running on a Stalinist ticket ?????? Frankly I would be more surprised
