  1. that is what WHAT is exactly? Everything he says? Spin is slightly maligned I would say - it is surely a pre-requisite in a world where newspapers print the most outrageous slurs and fears and lots of people just swallow it. Spin becomes a weapon to fight back with
  2. It bleedin' well was!
  3. Oh Gaaawd not you as well Tony? Tell me you haven't been spotting me without saying hello as well As it happens Carlsberg was consumed this weekend but only because I'm cutting back on the stronger lager.

On this one I'm reminded of the old maxim "The English would do well to learn some history, the Irish would do well to forget it" - or some such I can still be interested in the film itself as a piece of work with feeling the need to come over all anti-English can't I? Logic and reason puts me on the same side as Piers and Huguenot in this debate but I can't help but feel there is something missing from their arguments. Between 1968 and the current peacetime what was it that the British Government found so hard todo to neutralise the IRA which was all but defunct in 1968? You can say you aren't going to give in to terrorists and will never talk to them all you want but a) you have been talking to them b) you will talk to them again c) there will come a point when the violence stops because of these talks So the sooner the posturing stops, the sooner the violence stops. And however abhorrent their tactics and methods were, the IRA and their ilk didn't come out of a vacuum. The festering bigotry and discrimination against the Irish Catholics in that province could and should have been dealt with by the government long before this all kicked off again. Once again that doesn't excuse or condone terrorist activity - re-reading my post I haven't balanced up everything as I'd like but time has prevented me - I just wanted to add my tuppence hapenny
  5. BBW, some of us do as little as possible to preserve anonymity - see the photos from the various forum drinks I am on facebook but make a habit of not installing any apps or joining any groups - ED or otherwise
  6. Not sure if the full retail version is going to offer MUCH more but the demo of Left 4 Dead on 360 is absolutely brilliant. And despite knowing how they are going to invoke the scares, it hasn't stopped me shrieking when they happen - I'm definitely interested in a 4 person team going online for a demo session?
  7. Shame - we don't bite. And by that stage of the evening we weren't even embarrasing ourselves yet. Presumably see you in a few weeks tho?
  8. Saturday night (15th) - Barbican - Tilting and Drifting - the songs of Scott Walker performed by (amongst others) Gavin Friday, Jarvis Cocker, Dot Allison and Damon Albarn A stunning night but there is no denying it wouldn't be for everyone - hardly surpriseing given the nature of the last 2 albums - as far away from The Sun Ain't Gonna Shine Anymore as it's possible to get. Not everything worked - particularly on the theatrical side but a 40+ orchestra in the pit, playing Farmer in the City was a force of nature. I doubt I'll ever see a gig like it again
  9. busted! It wasn't a spying mission - we were in the area sampling several pubs Sharon - but now I'm trying to figure which one you were
  10. I wouldnt have thought so quids no. Not many anyway. Its a hobby. Www.upmystreet.sean
  11. Like it jah. . Like it
  12. 'Tis true Jah - and I've been quick to jump on them as well - usually if it's a first time post - but hartley has posted a couple of times before so benefit of the doubt from me. And I do really want to go there!
  13. be fair Nero, must of what gets typed on here falls into the same category Libra has a point and is wondering how others feel about it - dear God, hopefully it won't turn into another family/pushchairs rant, but it's absolutely correct to say that schoolruns are dreadful examples of people being pushy, lazy and feckless towards others As for PCSOs - I know this much - if they do start issuing these people fines, the indignation will be priceless
  14. don't be mean - hartley gave a very good recommndation for a Vietnamese restaurant in peckham as well I've been meaning to check out the Restaurantfor some time actually - it's a tiny wee place but a reassuringly small menu suggesting care and attention. I'll be going soon...
  15. I've been to the Brockley Jack just recently again - I'd be happy to ! Getting back is a bugger tho
  16. Not to Edinburgh but I have used City many times - agreed it's great but I still avoid the whole airport experience where possible. Also with future expansion, the joys of City airport will start to fade as check in times become longer I reckon
  17. 5 more to go before the big one Bren... make 'em count!
  18. How long are you going for - if it's more than a day or two I would recommend the train as a far far less stressful option. Timewise you save ontravel and security checkins and then you arrive bang in the middle of Edinburgh Costwise - you might pay a bit more for the train ticket but save on travel to and from airpirts and the associated faffage I travel every year to Edinburgh and always get the train
  19. Ooh you are right there keef. I was muddled up Sorry about that
  20. hi microbite do you mean photos from an existing website or local If it's an existing website, rather than just post the link into the post, click on the icon above (the row of icons that has the smileys? - pick the one next to the Italicise which looks like a mountain and sun) then post the link in the dialog box then post a description Voila

I'm expecting Dulwich Paradiso to have this in their next season - I haven't seen it yet
  22. and frankly it's a bit creepy to recount in such graphic detail what happened - what is it to achieve?
  23. Cassius - are you confusing the perpetrators of this horrible crime with the individuals on the social services who are seemingly now being hunted for their scalp/job When Keef is talking about individuals not being to blame he is defending the social workers not the people who actually did this.
  24. oooh I can imagine that working very well MP The hairs on my arms have just gone up as well thinking about it
