  1. Didn't we have all this when she was reportedly close to death?? I sang "Tramp the dirt down" with vehemence in my day but frankly, she hasn't been near power for a loooong time, I'm now in my forties and it seems silly to be QUITE so in-yer-face-Thatch to a barely-coherent old lady. I still dislike most of what she did but let her age and die peacefully I say
  2. Exactly the sort of thing a good forumite does regularly ;-) Oh and for anyone in the "give me a spud and I know how to use it" brigade - I've never met Jeremy either. Knowingly anyway. So no cliqueyness here....
  3. Saturday lunchtime for the ArsevManu clash could be a possibility indeed - nice one Jamie (probably should have this in the what's on section maybe?)
  4. Not that I don't recognize this wasn't that popular last time (easily as popular as oooooh.... my c30 C60 c90 compilation thread) , but as it's that time of the month, I'm going to nominate for the month of November: Jeremy As well as upping his posting frequency, he often has a just-different-enough take on things which he communicates in an unshowy but solid style. To the point where he has become one of those posters where, if he is the last poster on a thread which I wouldn't normally go near I'll have a peek
  5. Amen Keef (well I can't say exactly right anymore)
  6. I doubt a rate-cut, even of that size would affect that by-election in what the BBC insisted in pronouncing Glen Roathes - very annoying My feeling is that with yer man in Washington from Next Year, there is a feeling that he and Gordon will work together pretty well, combined with a general improvement in the perception amongst many of GB in recent weeks. And one can pick all sorts of holes in that.. but on a simplistic level I think they might be right
  7. Who do I pay and how much???
  8. First time on the eve of a Man U game that I have been genuinely nervous - That said, I wasn't nervous that time they tonked us 5-1 as I never saw that coming but I was sick as a dog afterwards
  9. I didn't expect to hear from Jah early today and sure enough..
  10. Alan, so long as it's typing and not breathing down my neck it's all good ;-)
  11. Moos - really, don't... AD loves nothing more than a bit of postcode pedantry. never mind that we have been to Hoopers before as well as the George. And especially never mind that Hoopers is within staggering distance of LL and most people's homes... that isn't AD's main point of interest
  12. I have the original version of the book and karter is correct - excerpts appear in SE22 magazine but there are many more pictures in the book
  13. And she is loooking as young as the day she arrived off the boat ;-)
  14. I want a time machine invented NOW And I'm setting the dials to Earl's Court 2001
  15. giggirl has finished series 5 already??? Keef has a point about the lack of credibility - can't mention much for fear of spoilers - but even so there were many many many good things about it, with some "up there with the best" scenes for my money
  16. I'mmore of a speakeasy Brendan so shhh
  17. just realised the Plough won't be my local anymore by the time this happens :( But I'll be there as seeing the band in the summer was a highlight
  18. I can't watch the clip either Brendan (I'm trusting google) , but you are spot on about Hicks doing that routine as well. And it's probably true
  19. I imagine a few people might be digging this one out today Bill Hicks - Republican Elephant is Dead
  20. Saw some good reviews of that one GG I forgot one of my pet hates at gigs these days - people yammering awayt o each other as if they were in the pub. Especially at a gig where some of the songs are so gently you can hear the singer breathe. Last night I nearly did a Tony From the Burbs and go loco at the 2 guys next to me
  21. ...I.................feel..... .......queasy now....... ............ I will say that I don't wear glasses
  22. well, if you WILL hang around channels 500+ on your Sky box *Bob*..
  23. Well, quite. You do have to wonder sometimes if people (political leaders, singers even) look at their audience sometimes and think "are we the bad guys?"
  24. I don't know if Lambchop at the Unon Chapel last night was a GREAT gig - but it was a very good one indeed Onlyreview I could find, and probably from Monday night's show at that
