  2. PGC - just for you Sweet ZZ Top - post ZZ Top - pre Three Dog Night
  3. any chance we can avoid talk of illegal activities please?
  4. I know the feeling Joe ! I notice the opening night is Thursday just before the next forum drink-up with a celebrity quiz hosted by Stephen Frost - anyone up for it?
  5. hmmmm don't be too upset Michael - as a Bowie fan myself, even I balk at the performance from The Dame at that gig. Cheese doesn't even begin to describe it
  6. dulmum (is there a trademark infringement with the dulwichmum name there?) Are you aware this topic has been discussed pretty thoroughly already in other threads - I realise you may (or may not) be referring to Foxtons but the parking discussions in those threads probably apply equally to other estate agents. Might be best to raise this in the existing threads rather than starting another
  7. I've got a friend who has been promising me The Corner for a year now - says he can't find it - hmmmm. But yeah, by the same guy and I would really like to see it (you've been fairly quiet of late Char1ie - welcome back)
  8. This thread is now only baaarley East Dulwich related - seems more Lounge material do we think?
  9. catgirl you took the words right out of my mouth. And avid Cure fan throughought the 80s I got to see them at Wembley on the KissMeKissMeKissMe tour - and I have never dropped a band so quickly. My stance has softened a little in subsequent years but I can't face the thought of risking a noght like that again (and I had to sleep on the floor of Paddington station overnight afterwards but that's another story) Sorry for the negativity giggirl!
  10. 3 of us? a majority?? Against the 2 known Liverpool fans it's hardly a whitewash is it?
  11. how nice - just for clarity Rosie, you didn't REALLY see a rat did you?
  12. nah - from what I understand Chener are disinterested in doing anything with the place And I genuinely hope your little girl is ok and didn't hurt herself too much
  13. far from doing that these days tho ARE they??? (not that TV ever shows them at the mo) LadyG - brothers pub is a Chelsea pub so it looks like that game will be on - he said he will "see" about getting the Arsenal game on a smaller screen
  14. AP - while I agree the paving is less than 100%, LTP's plot was in the fine tradition of humour surely? I appreciate things become more personal when nearest and dearest are involved but still.... **edit - you got there before me I see *** There is some overlap with this thread and the pedestrianisation thread and I find myself somewhat torn (although to certain people on here that would mean sitting-on-the-fence while to others it would mean typical-Libran) Scruffy shops, uneven pavements and too much traffic are all things that bug me but wheras I would normally be expected to proscribe solutions I do think that pedestrianising LL would be counter-productive (see Nero's post), that shopfronts should sort themselves out as they see fit, and that paving is something we all learn to live with - ultimately we don't need legislation in this case That doesn't mean I think people shouldn't drive less and that Chener couldn't sort themselves out mind you
  15. Joe It's open in October and they have some cracking nights lined up, none of which I am around for - I am gutted! The website is here http://www.edcomedy.com/listings.html And I especially recommend the Boothby and Stewart Lee nights Now, I have given several people some stick for appearing out of nowhere to plug some new place but surely I have posted on here enough now to be above suspicion - I have no connection with this place at all other than as a frequent punter
  16. Having met the very lovely CWALD on several occasions I can vouch that it is now an accent of some wonderment
  17. have to confess I've not been - Page 2 was a place I visited a lot when it first opened but it being thaaat much further away I need a more pressing reason - sounds like you may have supplied one tho - I may wander down this or next Sunday
  18. I haven't heard about the West Ham game yet LadyG, but I'll keep you posted
  19. Arcadia - sorted, finished - now onto Ryan's house
  20. I see Bat & Ball on the train maps - always wondered what kind of place it is (can probably guess mind)
  21. "with hindsight... it's 20/20 ... vision" - thanks for putting THAT song back in my head downsouth
