  1. Andrew - a wonderful set of photos which capture the evening nicely...well... if not nicely then accurately at least Many many thanks
  2. Pray tell why keef. Intelligent. Articulate. Not the best eyesight in the work maybe but wenger strikes me as sound as a pound.
  3. aaahh I see macroban - I thought your initial post was a reference to a conversation you had with Ko and not a post. I just did a search and found the quote A bit odd to drop that sentence at the end of a long post about pharmacies I agree - then again it was between 3 and 4:30 am this morning.. If I'm awake thinking about "stuff" at that hour I usually inflates it's importance Any clarification Ko?
  4. now what is the point of such a vague, non-specific doom-laden post - either spill what you've heard and let others who may be in the know answer or don't bother with the post
  5. I took like 2.. and then realised I need to read the instructions - they were all mightily over or underexposed Now do some work MP!
  6. I await LadyGooner's no-doubt-breathless back-from-the-match report with no little glee
  7. unfortunately spiteful that post Domitianus wasn't it? A fairly harmless reference to previous posts doesn't warrant an all-guns-blazing retort...
  8. or you could just not worry about property I do understand what you are saying about so many things but... well, I'm willing to bet said mortgage that your place is bigger than mine. Mine is a small flat with no garden and badly converted at that. Plus it's as far from ED station as can be And yet - I'm happier than anywhere I've ever lived including a picture-postcard Devon cottage and a house by the sea in Ireland. I could fret about why I haven't traded up property-wise but life's too short.
  9. oooh but look Keef - he's just scored another
  10. I know the question is property/equity related but I just need to say re: areas, that after last night's party, that alone would convince me to stay in ED. To further convince me I have spent the morning out and about in the glorious sunshine, picked up some coffee, juice and pastries from the stalls on Northcross Road and sat on one of the Palmerston benches and watched the world go by. Then we headed off past Goose Green where loads of people were playing/recuperating on the grass and everyone with a smile on their face (well apart from the drivers on LL and the roundabout who seem to be cross with... oooh just about everything. Seriously - look at their faces as you walk down LL) Basically I'm going nowhere
  11. Oooops Al - my post actually did sound more negative than I intended. I've definitely noticed the temp of the lagers improve (ie much colder and a Good Thing) and I always get a good head with the pint - I think the staff do everything spot on. (behave at the back!) It just seems to me (and it could be just me so if anyone fancies joining in on this feel free - I feel bad enough as it is!) that thereafter it loses it's fizz pretty quickly - not sure how else to put it. Esp as it's obvious the effort you are putting in It's not a deal-breaker and I still head to EDT regularly (4 out of the last 7 days in fact) it's just something I've noticed and mentioned
  12. The normal end.... riiiiiight Have a look at main forum for the part reports - t'were a great evening and a shame that you, Georgia and DulwichMum (amongst others) couldn't make it. Andrew was making busy with the camera so expect to see documentary evidence soon
  13. well said PGC - great to see so many people, old and new... don't think we got to meet tho PGC, did we?
  14. Well if i had to miss tonight a pint in lurgan would be a splendid substitute
  15. EDT have done a great job in many areas in recent months but the beer is not one of them. I'm not an ale drinker but I can see the choice is poor and none of the lagers appears to be as well served/chilled/lively as other bars... Shame As for the footie I'm up for it but my confidence took a major blow over the summer when Mr Georgia absolutely hammered me
  16. I used to adore Never The Twain - but that too suffered big time when I rewatched it only a couple of years later... Donald Sinden wasn't it?
  17. Floating Onion - you think this level of forum activity is ABnormal??? The only time there seems to be any drop off is between 5 and 7pm when people are on their way home as far as I can see Ko - good point re: real people. We'll just have to do our best and battle on ;-)
  18. build it and they will come...
  19. marvellous, snowboarder >:D< - now who else?
  20. Seems to be a few people who WANT to come but are slightly intimidated - can I offer some re-assurance? Firstly, tonight will be new for everyone here - we have had little drink ups in the past but this should be on a different level and most of us will be unsure what to expect Secondly, despite all the ribbing and disagreements that you read on the forum, face-to-face meetings have been nothing but great fun with everyone dropping their persona and being their "real" selves (for the most part anyway ;-) ) I believe if you are thinking of coming but don't you'll regret it later when the reports start to trickle in (hopefully from about 3am tomorrow morning when someone who has had a bit too much to drink gets all emotional - they're great ones!)
  21. another time???? How many first birthdays does a forum get??? ;-)
  22. Would be rude not to come along surely - I'll be there with Lady MacGabhann not long after depending on her flight back from Ireland... Any newbies shouldn't worry - have a look at some of the photo threads from previous drink ups and you'll see who many of us are and what we look like - I'm sure I will be wearing some variant of black, black, black with a silver-haired top (for a change) should anyone wish to meet/avoid me
  23. I wasn't even born
  24. bit early in the day for a pub landlord to be knicking about on t'internet isn't it? Fair play tho...
