  1. BarryRoad means he is from the US, Brendan, and thus in contention for being it's best import
  2. A huuuge range of pastries Clare.. Wish I was there now
  3. Substitue Ireland for the North and that is word for word what I tell people - spooky
  4. teabagging = my favourite episode of Curb Your Enthusiasm
  5. I haven't disliked anything I've heard but I have to confess I haven't given them enough attention - but hey, that's what this place is for!
  6. Because my head is unable to handle anything louder Tindersticks - Until The Morning Comes
  7. The Silver Buckle *shudders* I bet they aren't having this convo on the SE5 forum
  8. Another site blocked by work.... bah
  9. * uses scroll bar on his dodgy work browser * Aahh! Cheers Citizen And good spot Nero
  10. Nero Only B&W image I see is the plates which expands to a picture of an old Victorian-era poor kitchen. Amd I missing something?
  11. James - go the whole hog. The Co-op And if you do it in The Castle I'll buy you a drink
  12. I don't think people are doing it for shock value MW - it's more a "good to see, another reason I like living here and not Ilford" kind of thing When I first arrived in the UK and being Irish wasn't quite as acceptable as it is now, I would have posted on a forum (if such things as the internet, widespread PC availability and a fast modem existed) if I actually met another Irish person in Swindon
  13. wonder what time you were there davidm - we popped in briefly around 8am en route to another engagement but were very glad we did The woman who served us was very good and very informative, talking about the soft opening mid-week and they are really keen for people to like the place. There is no "we are who we are take us or leave us" attitude at all Nice food (snack menu) good drinks list and great selection of teas (and coffee!) - It's not like a pub where you would feel comfotable just wandering on on your own but I can see myself going there quite a bit Mark - I sooooo wish I was able to pop in for lunch today. But do report back
  14. I have seen maybe 3 instances in last month. As you say its no soho but a lot better than say. . Barking
  15. Cheers for the offer lady g. . Ill have jeff and the boys keep me posted
  16. Some interesting games to be sure. Am I right in thinking Arsenal are not on ANY channel yet again??
  17. I too shall do my share of the labour on this arduous task And good shout on the Oban Ted - happy memories of a visit the actual town as well
  18. And the figures for Singapore Huguenot? But yes interesting stats. You will get some people who are suspicious of those figures but I do get the feeling that the news outlets enjoy bigging up any violent/gun-related stories to keep us frightened And there is no denying that for many people it works Not to say that ANY gun crime is acceptable - but it is reassuring to realise it's not getting worse, as we are led to believe
  19. Jah Methinks Ladygooner was being sarcastic about Lehman having a good game. You might be right he didn't have much to do but it didn't stop him flapping like a great big flapping thing
  20. Charlie it MIGHT be but if it were I'm sure you wouldn't post about it on here in case some people considered it spoiler material *nudges charlie towards the Edit Post button*
  21. I did and it wasn't as great as it sounded in the first half - well taken goals mind and definitely a great result for us
  22. hey cEDric - glad to have you aboard, and whatever reason it takes, you're here now - hopefully you'll keep posting and join the EDF party on the 21st Sep Anyway - The Wire. Because we have lent out series 1 of the wire to another forumite I just had a peek at some of the episodes on FX and was sucked back in all over again. So many many connections which I never made the first time all clicked in my mind. I even tolerated the ad breaks You are right - the pic quality of the tv broadcast is poor compared to DVD's - I understand FX have been granted a license to broadcast in HD from early next year I'm conscious of us "fans" now making it sound like just a very, very good TV show. But it's not just me is it? It is better than that?
  23. Have to confess I haven't Alan - it is a bit of a trek for me which doesn't rule it out in itself but wheras I'm quite likely to pop in to most places with a paper/book/crossword/DS/homeopathy leaflet for company, I do like to think I won't be the only person there. Which has happened in Hoopers unfortunately Bit of a catch-22 for Jamie I know. But the night in question was great fun and we were well looked after. It's just we can't ALL arrange to go every night
  24. Char1ie Noooo - don't tempt me to watch dodgy copies - I can't WAIT to see series 4 but am holding out for the release But out of interest, how good is the quality compared to your official DVDs? If I watch them on a big screen (say 50") will they be pixellated to hell?
  25. I'm all for stricter monitoring of the Ed issues/gossip thread Maybe send a PM to the main culprits (of which I am one!) advising of a culture-change?
