Owens not done bad considering he's earned tens of thousands of pounds for sitting down for quite a few years. Englands answer to Winston Bogarde formerly of CSKA Fulham.

So the cover up, the lies from the authorities and the media is a "mythological construct"? You don't live on planet Earth, more like cloud cuckoo land.

One of the Arsenal blog sites, REDactionAFC, has received hundreds of tweets suggesting fans sing YNWA on matchday this Saturday. I would be pleased to support that suggestion. Furthermore, I hope those responsible for this tragedy and the cover are brought before the courts. Many fans across the UK are thinking "there but for the grace of god" regarding that day, so this is no JUST a Liverpool issue.

Well, where to start with Englands performance? Dull, dreary, lacking imagination. I'll leave it there. 3rd in the FIFA world rankings? Yeah right. As for the Hillsbotough disaster, I hope the families and loved ones of those who died finally get closure.

I watched a programme yesterday evening called the lockup on BBC 3, its about a Humberside Police custody suite for those that haven't seen or are not aware of it. One the cases highlighted the situation of a self employed guy who caught a man trying to break into his van with a crowbar to steal his work tools. The van owner took the thief on and in doing so managed to take the crowbar from the thief and in fight that ensued the van owner walloped the thief with his own crowbar, in what he said was self defence. When the case went to court, the would be thief, who it turned out had a string of convictions for burglary and violent disorder, chose not to give evidence. Case was then dismissed againt the van owner. I couldn't help but feel huge delight for the man who did what he thought was right by protecting what he had worked so hard for. In his shoes I would have done exactly the same. And I know some posters will be thinking that the van owner should have called the police WITHOUT approaching the would be thief, but he probably thought it was worth making a stand, as I do.

They're both babies who need their respective egos massaged on a regular basis whilst laughing all the way to the bank.

Just like the couple that just got away scot free yeah? And I'm not arguing FOR gun ownership, just saying IF I had, and IF a situation like that arose I would use it. Nobody on here seems to have come up with a sweeping condemnation of those that commit burglary or the like and that I find strange. It's as if trying to protect you and yours is in some way wrong.

I, for one, believe that burglars are a brave and hardy breed just like a learned judge said recently. Clown. I believe somebody has previously posted on this thread something to effect that burglary is not a life threatening situation. Really, is that in evey case? How do you what an uninvited individuals intentions are once they have entered your property? I do not own, and never have owned, a firearm. However, if I did, and I found myself in a situation confronting an intruder in my home at any time of the day or night, I'd shoot first and ask questions later. I can't see that engaging the person in conversation would lessen the threat to my well being. And what the f**k is he he doing there anyway? The last thing going through my mind would be the stastics thrown about on here as to the rights and wrongs of the situation.

Outrageous!!! the couple that shot those poor misguided souls have been let off. What on earth is going on in this country? They should be clapped in irons and flogged to within an inch of their lives to instill tolerance into their useless souls.

I believe he may be off to Oz according to the reports I've seen.

I would sit the poor confused dear down, ask him if he's lost his way and offer him a nice cup of tea. After which I'd send him on his way with a cheery wave and my best wishes.

Very happy with the performance by the Arsenal today. 3 points, clean sheet, and a goal a piece for 2 of the new starters. Early days yet but I'm pleased with that. Come on you Saints, show the same spirit that was on display against City.

AVB was damaged goods before he arrived at Spurs, god knows what they were thinking when they took him on.

Oh dear Carroll off holding sis hamstring, not good.
-
Fulham look shocking, missing the players they've sold on.

Chavski start with Torres and Hazard UEFA super cup and still find themselves 3 nil down at half time. Mind you Athletic are playing like a team which you couldn't accuse the chavs of doing in the first 45.
