Hm. Lizzie, I don't want to misinterpret your post so can I just ask for clarity - are you suggesting the person in question was wrong to feel afraid? Honk, I'm puzzled that you don't think a local forum is exactly the right sort of place for making people aware that there may be someone around with inappropriate behaviour towards women. If the person was frightened, do you think she (or her friend on her behalf) should have said nothing? I'm not sure I see why.

But you do expect him to let you on if you have a valid ticket, don't you? If you can find somewhere in the thread where someone suggested it's part of a bus driver's job to doff his cap, then you have a point. Otherwise I can't see it.

*sits with hands over eyes* Not looking! Not looking! Not looking! Pass me a glass when you're done, DM.

I drive irresponsibly if Solsbury Hill ever comes on.

Happy Birthday Jaws! and welcome to the best decade so far...

Might get you out of not having done your homework, though.

Still not a job for Uncle 'Don't call me nice' Piers, impertinent though it is to offer that opinion. What can I say? I always thought you were the star-bright friend of kittens and butterflies, a sweet, sensitive guy who could skip through the bluebells without leaving so much as a bent stalk. Now I realise I was foolish and naive, and you're just the kind of chap who'd spend all afternoon helping his small grandson pluck up the courage to whip out that first wobbly tooth before announcing that the Tooth Fairy is made up. The scales have fallen from my eyes and I am a sadder but wiser Moos. On other topics- KK, are you really Santa's Baby? Did he slip a sable under the tree for thee? I think TedMax should be told. That's headline-grabbing stuff.
-
Cor, you're a meany under all that nice-nice, aren't you? I can just tell you were dying to accidentally let it slip and watch that little face crumple. You better watch out, Mr. M.Piers, and I'm telling you why. Santa Claus is coming to town (in about 11 and a half months) and he's going to GETCHA.

M. le Quids - yes, but they're 3 buses in 1, don't forget. KK I will not be drawn into comments as to your size.

Offering little girls lollipops, Mockers? That sort of thing can get a nice young man into trouble these days.

I'm not an atheist, but I'm all for this campaign - anything that gets people talking about important topics like 'What's It All About Then Eh When It Really Comes Down To It, Hmm'. Brilliant. Better than the usual 'buy this new phone' tosh on the sides of buses. Was a bit surprised by the content though. I really admire the humanist movement on the grounds that I thought it was intended to provide a moral and ethical structure and stance that's unconnected to faith, a responsibility for one another based on mutual value. But 'Now stop worrying and enjoy your life' sounded more like a slogan for the Hedonist movement. Perhaps they felt 'Now stop worrying and be a good person just for its own sake with no reward' might not sound much fun.

I used to live quite near a trio of hamlets that were called Upper Wallop, Middle Wallop and Nether Wallop. Time for a new thread...?

Willow, you are so right. Amazed no-one has brough up the random word emphasis. "Here, standing at the school gates of what parents has called 'The Worst School In the World' the message of systematic failure for these children is clear. (drops voice) What the future may hold for them (ungrammatical pause) is less so. Weaselly Rimsqueak, BBC News, Himborough" * *example made up, in case you aren't familiar with Rimsqueak's work.

7) eat vast quantities of delicious roasted garlic heads. Violently disagree with many of the above, though. Only 2 nights a week for over-indulging in love, kissing cheese and chocolate? You must be orff your nut.

I am full of lurgy and sick as a parrot so may make it only to drop off a bag of DVDs for Keef and then cauwf orff into the night.

Wanted: Nice looking woman to start the year with... (Lounged)
Moos replied to Miles's topic in The Lounge
Also a difference between someone coming on and saying someone who looks good (I refuse to say 'nice') and someone else being prepared to admit that they think they do... Also could be a woman/man thing - although a certain Forumite is often telling me I make too much of the differences - men also seem to be better than women at giving themselves the credit they deserve. I think Indiepanda looks good for what it's worth! -

Don't worry about it Miles, people just love to debate on the Forum - that's what it's all about. I don't think anyone is meaning to have a pop. Your approach may not be what another person would take ... don't you find it intriguing what other people choose to do sometimes? Good luck, maybe meet you on Friday, there are usually lots of lovely girls at the drinks. -
Gee Tony, thank you for once again for bringing the flavour of the 'burbs to the discussion. I really couldn't say what 'We' think in re: whether "it's marvellous, fantabulous even to have as many kids by as many different Fathers as possible" - I can only repeat that I don't believe having 4 kids to 4 fathers is automatically grounds for having social services come to pay a visit. Call me radical. To BN5 - *blows kiss, awaits input*

Er, quite - think you answered your own point there, Mockers. Re: Shooting Stars, did anyone else laugh till they nearly peed at the Simon Cowell / bear whathavetheygotincommon? Other than that, it was a bit of a sigh-inducing trip down Memory Lane.. and like dear old Viz just not nearly as funny as it used to be? edit to say ffs, what's that BN5? Why would social services be involved? Social services get involved when you don't feed/wash/generally take care of your kids.. anyone accusing Ulrika of that??

At least half of them are registered Forumites too, they're so integrated in ED.
