to be fair I don't think he was being pessimistic at all, he was just being a bit pedantic. That he is literally unproven in this league and it's probably worth reserving judgement for a few games, and maybe at least one winter.

Had some fantastic nights in the CPT in the early 0ies, but it die a slow tragic death. I'm glad there's life in the old bird, but it ain't for me (too bloody far for starters instead of being right outside of my front door as once was). I think some of the other things you describe are changes in society rather than anything to do with a specific demograhic. Fear of so much as talking to anyone else's child, leave alone coming to their aid has been instilled in us by a shrieking press and imposed on us by those quick to reach for their pitchforks sadly. Though instinctively obviously we should ban all sort of clown related garb for the good of the nation, my liberal sensibilities feel that it's an intrinsic part of the identity of all evil; demons, demon worshippers, succubi etc should be allowed to express that. I think after 13 years here, on the rare occassion we actually get to go out at all, we tend to default to trying something new (in our remaining 5ish months) rather than back to the old favourites...familiarity and all that, rather than some sneering contempt at a gentrification process that I was obviously a part of in some small way.
