  1. I think it's usally taken to mean under the ground under the patio/decking. It might be a giveaway if you just sort of arranged the slabs over the body. the-e-dealer Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > You cant bury a body under decking!
  2. RD, I have to say my blood ran cold when I saw the headline earlier. HB didn't have anything to do with laying down steveo's old patio did he?
  3. at two grand I might not be tempted, but they are rather cool. Anatomical carafes
  4. Jangly sunny meoldic pop disguising acerbic undercurrents. Hmmm, it's not the Smiths honest. The 1900s
  5. I wasn't alone in thinking...'patio?' then ;)
  6. I always figured if there x/10 meant "mark x of ten possible standards", giving it 0 means there are 11 possiblilites. 1/11 then?

  8. Really liking Pure Bathing Culture at the moment, though it does have the downside of sounding a bit like the music that played in all those parties where i miserably failed to get a snog at, back in the early eighties. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZR79BSSZutk http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sPMI__nFeJk
  9. Actually I think you'll find it's closer to mauve or periwinkle.
  10. General Patton, errr from his biopic Patton.

Impressive photo essay http://www.theatlantic.com/infocus/2013/05/syrias-long-destructive-civil-war/100522/ Blimey And Brian Blessed in the FSA apparently
  12. It's all very how long is a piece of string though UG. Traditionally and (pre)historically it has been a conceptual construct to explain the inexplicable and has also doubled up as historical and cultural almanac. These days it might just as well serve as an atavastic expression of angst in response to Future Shock. It can be good, bad, indifferent, extinct, raised from the dead (in the image of the raiser more often than not), esoteric, bizarre, a bringer together, a forcer apart. It is as many things as people and motives are different really Doubtless it is often used to shore up power bases or by individuals to exercise power over others, but that's a side-effect, not a definition.
  13. Just for Lou
  14. huh? If you get that it's humour then what's the point of responding to it at face value. It doesn't require a subscription. That's just a bit weird. That or the *whoosh* has *whoosh*ed. Or is this a cunning misdirection ploy to make me think you're not wolfie after all?
  15. I think I made the point elsewhere that religion is an conceptual construct, so yes, it can apply to any such construct; most destructively 'nationalism'.
  16. An angel delight wedding cake, pleeease say there was!
  17. depends entirely on a sliding scale per case basis, but in short it's both.
  18. *sighs* reread it all. There are nice people with buggies and selfish ones. There are nice people with cycles and selfish ones. There are nice people with cars and selfish ones. There are nice people with jellied eels and selfish ones. There are nice people with internet forum rants and ..... no scratch that last one. Ultimately I'm saying the rant betrayeth they prejudice. Louisa only rants about primrose hill/modern parent types, I was suggesting she might have been more tolerant/empathetic to some good old fashioned cockney sparras in her path
  19. wow I think I can guess what social networking site he created!! http://stackoverflow.com/questions/4864144/which-is-better-6-databases-with-5-000-000-tables-or-5-000-000-databases-with/4864182
  20. Can we have live feeds please? I have multiple screens at work, I reckon I can squeeze in at least 20 forumites' lives per screen in an insectoid-compound-eye-truman-show stylee.
  21. wouldn't that have just reblocked her?
  22. "In case of an emergency raise arms in air and scream until your pulped body is consumed in a conflagration of twisted metal and kerosene"
  23. if the OP had said two black people, she may well have simply been adding some factual detail but most readers would be within their rights to infer that maybe it was the fact they were black rather than the blocking of the path that was the real issue. Of course Louisa didn't she's lovely. She does however have a long history of class issues and resentment of gentrification and it seems reasonable to assume it was the people, as represented by the buggies and Jo Jo Maman shopping habits, rather than the actual blocking that was the real issue. If it had been a couple of pearly queens with push chairs rather than buggies who were so engrossed in a comparative discussion of where to source the best jellied eels, that they failed to notice her, I doubt Louisa would have felt so inclined to rant about a spectacularly minor inconvenience on a public forum ;) For susiq the above times eleventy five This theory extrapolates to most peoples rants on here. In my case anything Tony Blair did I went ape about, not because of the specifics of his policies but because all I saw was a self-serving hypocritical lying murdering bastard....*breathe*.
