  1. Decided to buy a paper this sunday. Managed 1/4 of an article. Oh well nice try. I'll give it another go once the youngest is about 5, so only four years to go then.

Oh yeah, Hingis, a grown up Heidi with nice pins, to do something odd to your insides. What's that, tennis? No idea what you're talking about?.

Having been an Andy detractor I was actually pretty chuffed for him, if only because of how tense that final game was. If he'd been broken you just had a sense of this script whereby he loses the tie-break and then the momentum goes with Djokovic. It would have been Jana Novotna all over again and that would have been a horrible thing to witness, and he did play the match of his life to cruise past the world number one in straight sets so well done that man. Having said all that I'm pretty much with the points made by otta and bob, plus I tend to find tennis pretty boring. Wimbledon in nice weather has this nostalgic quality, a hazy sense of golden summers and soft breezes and playing in the garden and surrounding woods and generally being happy, but you have to miss Connors, McEnroe and those lovely wooden rackets. In fact was Lendl the beginning of the end?
  4. Overground Denmark Hill -> Clapham J 16 mins train Clapham Junction -> Richmond 9 mins Schoolboy error?
  5. Littlest Hobo?
  6. That was my suspicion too woody.
  7. Oh to be able to sit and read a paper.
  8. Luckily we have Muslim countries to teach us by example how dysfunctional and corrupt we are. Oh, wait... Aagh, fed the troll.
  9. God, watching that makes you think Louisa has a point!! Pickle that made me laugh too.
  10. Not much evidence of passive
  11. I do the worst Irish accent on the planet, ditto scottish. my "Nye Bevan shat in his pants, if he hadn't I would 'ave" is apparently passable. But thanks for the welcome ;D
  12. I gather there may be folk in attendance I would very much like to meet, notwithstanding the loveliness of perennials like MrBen, numbers, SJ, HmB (who won't want to be caught next to me) and everyone. Errm, being 'Celtic' isn't mandatory is it? Making the ben & holly dilemma really hard.
  13. "A Costa Rican woman reportedly recovered from a serious brain illness, and the Congregation concluded that the only explanation for her recovery was the fact that her family had prayed for the late pope's intercession." Gotta love that rigorous canonisation process
  14. Given the choice in the area I'd probably go Bedford & Strand or Terroir. But they're probably a bit pricey for the current requirement.
  15. It is a bit ambiguous isn't it, and I could certainly infer the estate agents' view from the quality of minimumness of the contract. That said I'm sure KK is right that there's nothing in it for them to pursue this legally as the best that could happen is to force you to stick this 12 week period at which point it's obvious you'd go anyway.
  16. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Poisoned_candy_myths Poor thing, I hope this curmudgeonly spirit hasn't crushed Lucy's intrinsic optimism and good nature, Happy birthday young lady!
  17. 'Hip', such an awful word, especially when coupled with 'replacement' and those damned iron horses ruining the sleepy repose of our green and pleasant land As for Pylons, don't get me started... Ellipses, do people even know what they're about? 'Much', keep saying it, 'much', stupid stupid stupid word. Is this the irrational hatred thread? Sorry, my bad.
  18. archetypally loyal or roniny? Ghost Dog?

  24. After much sampling we have generally found only woondal and omrith to be in any way consistent and quality. In fact the latter is always delicious but sometimes those sauces are too dry.
