Is this about Donald rumsfeld, homeopathy, the paranormal or Madelaine investigations. You decide.
-
Surely the real WTF is Maxxi actually predicting things!!!!

Allforn(unlurked)?

"Does he even know what he actually wants from a team" win games? "go out there or i'll smash your kneecaps with a baseball bat with nails in" I reckon this management malarlkey is easy!!!!
-
Fab new novel set in East Dulwich/Peckham
El Pibe replied to smashing's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
". I think it will frustrate locals a bit, though. The girl would not have walked past The Bishop on her way from ED station to the Tesco metro" Obviously the author meant the Marks & Spencers... Doh!! -
did you know mono means cute in spanish?

just to clarify, what's the debate around quality? If you want quality then the components(from musical source to reproduction) need to be quality. Doesn't have to be traditional analogue seperates by any stretch, but they still need to be, you know, good, whether you're talking about a sound card, or a standalone wifi active speaker. Plus what you get has to be tailored to what you're doing with it and where. So yes, seperates overkill for many a situation. I've just got the internet radio in my kitchen and a mono speaker in the ceiling in my bog

x post exactly TJ. On my (home) work desk i listen to my computer with FLAC via this. through this and into these it sounds pretty good to me (or a 3 quid yellow radio) All budget stuff too.
-
Naaaa, silly. I'm setting up a home network using Pure's jongo stuff http://www.pure.com/wireless/jongo-multiroom-speakers/ it streams your ripped stuff and internet radio to various bits and bobs around your house, including via this thing into seperates hifi stuff, which you can route via a DAC to sound amazing if the hifi fluffins are worth it. a fuck sight cheaper than sonos too!!!

i don't see why moyes can do well, but he needs to rebuild it in his image, not have a bunch of fluffed up self important arseholes (in decline), a dressing room that thinks about what was, and basically anyone who doesn't feel privileged to be there. I genuinely hope he's given time, and I hope Man U becomes a normal team that challenges but doesn't somehow win even though they don't deserve it. In other words a team run by a human being rather than....whatever the hell that man was, what was his name again, Alex Faustguson ;)

hence the usefully provided links. basically making use of the fact that every square inch of the area seems to be covered by a number of routers, you get them all to talk to each other to make a network, thus creating your own mini internet. Then either have a gateway to the internet via some ISPO, or set up your own. Hey presto free, secure, community wide wifi zone and saving a collective fortune on broadband subscription fees. As willcosl states, getting a critical mass interested is key else it's a non starter if you can't even get the nodes to reach each other.

I'd be very surprised if the entire london fleets were to be replaced. I reckon routes that don't go through the centre would be very unlikely to use a new routemaster. It seems to be about image, prestige and that tourist buck, but I've no idea what's going on in Boris' headf (I'm pretty sure nor does he!!)
-
I agree, it's hugely important as a symbol of london, i've seen tourists getting genuinely excited at their approach. All the buses we'e suffered over the last decade or two might as well be in Reading, just painted red; ugly functional things. I finally got to ride one (a journey I'd have been quicker walking but hey) just before I left. I thought it was superb, it really brought back to me the feeling of coming to London on day trips to buy ludicous shirts from Kensington Market as a foppish youth, but that's another story. That said, I was very glad I didn't have a push chair with me, the internal design IS very impractical.

aspartame does taste disgusting but is the butt of a million internet hoaxes, and a ton of misinformation. There is no evidence that it's bad for you
-
Of course, remember that we're only here once. There's a reason why we eat too much sugar, it's nice and it makes you feel good, so remeber to try and balance health with actually enjoying life and stuff ;)
-
Apparently sugar is sugar, there aren't good ones and bad ones, just sugar, but there are blatanlty bad sources and better ones; as edcam says, nice friendly fruit will still cause issues if you eat too much of it. You can't cut out sugar entirely, but cutting down on the indulgences, avoiding sugar rich over processed foods, as well as cutting out sugar in your tea and so on is probably quite sensible given the enourmous increase in type 2 diabetes and various liver problems associated with our high sugar diets (you don't have to be a lard arse or even smoke/drink too much for this to affect you). I'm certainly trying to cut down on the obvious stuff.

Interesting stuff. Rahrahrah, from my cursory investigations that's essentially yes, but Guifi.net in Spain has some nodes that provide internet for the rest of the mesh, I'm guessing something similar could be done, who pays for it is another matter (though with a bunch of you then it'd be pretty cheap I'm sure)

still, five 'outraged from Orford' reports in 15 minutes is the forum equivalent of Jerry Springer: The Opera, so perhaps admin will take heed.
-
"it doesn't say anything positive about this forum, or the Administrator of it, if that post remains" Really? rock and a hard place innit. Comment gets removed and admin is accused of censorship. The forum is made up of all it's contributors, they do not necessarily reflect the views etc. In this case an iffy comment has earned rebuke by the community, and I would rather the forum was by and large self-policed than heavy handed moderation. A quick look at posting history of prunella revelas her to be (at least ostensibly) a self-confessed little old lady who has posted rather obsessively about crime since experinecing her own 'a couple of years ago'. I'd probably try to enlighten rather than suppress, no?

Moved for one pointlessly tedious bumping update too many...I imagine ;) Try to keep this one useful, or at least pertinent, and perhaps the naysayers should leave alone too, you never know, if these chaps manage to subvert 100 billion or so desperately needed public funds into building some airport in the thames estuary, killing off all the wildlife there, we'll all be greatful for the quieter skies. http://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/forum/read.php?20,649585

This thread needs to be put in a museum for posterity, the perfect encapsulaion of EDFness. Oh, and 2/10 initiation rechnique, 5/10 for prolongation technique, 8/10 for effort.

These made me chuckle
