Fattest player I ever saw on a pitch was Peter Garland, firstly visiting us from Whyteleafe, then eventually playing for the Hamlet. He was a class apart on the field despite being about 28 stone!!!
  2. Louisa = seabag? our survey said icgh eerh
  3. sad face http://www.escapistmagazine.com/videos/view/zero-punctuation/8891-Thief-Stealing-a-Classic
  4. Not much call for mead in se ireland (oooh 0.33%) but am off to a wedding in cornwall in the autumn, so might be an opportunity!!
  5. you can tinker with the price on uPad, why not give it a go, look at the market, have a go at the price you'd like and see where you go. 1% is still several thousand pounds vs ?99!!
  6. but then we're not selling, i guess in this crazy market, unless you're doing something stupid like moving to rural ireland, you probably need to squeeze every last penny out of your equity.
  7. "There is no right price for a house" true enough but we chose to be fair rather than greedy. We ended up with a little less than we'd have got from the ludicrous prices being touted by agents (after their criminal cut), and the saving was passed on to the tenants, meaning we got a good choice of them and we seem to have ended up *fingers crossed* with very nice ones. And a warm feeling inside.

  9. we managed to rent ours via uPad, which is a one off fee to get your property up on rightmove, primeproperty etcv. You write the blurb and show them round yourself. At ?99 vs however many percent (up to 25% for lettings, no idea for sales) it's well worth a pop.
  10. Beer is a pretty massive part of what I miss. Was reading this at lunch time and almost wept into my oversweet carlsberg http://londonist.com/2014/03/a-history-of-london-in-five-beers.php
  11. the clue was in the question i guess. ok, will have a glen ponder briefly
  12. 10/10, first class work there Louisa, I'd give bonus points for 'moral duty' if you hadn't already got the top mark :)
  13. yeah yeah, 'she should be ignored' 'link to publicity' irony noted!!
  14. She's not encouraging debate, or speaking her mind. She's a publicity whore pure and simple, and one getting rich off the attention. Like all trolls she should be ignored not encouraged, but then the broadcasters are the ones chasing cheap controversy and publicity by inviting her on hoping she'll say something crass. She's at it again with an even more poorly timed/taste comment http://www.independent.co.uk/news/people/news/katie-hopkins-continues-campaign-to-become-britains-mosthated-with-poorly-timed-tweet-9184095.html Granted she's just a stupid man's Clarkson, but at least there's a modicum of charm, humour and intelligence (if you like that sort of thing) about him. She's an insight vaccuum. Oh yea, draft house closed and will be a franco manca. nuff said really.
  15. Is it 'Red' from shawshank redemption?

    BBC3 Axed

It was the unloved child for sure, but it had it's moments. Mongrels was an absolute classic, Being Human started there, or finished there i forget.
  20. "Dirty seaside b*st**ds" I mean, they're basically French!!!
  21. Seriously Penguin, many before you have tried to be reasonable and helpful (CBT was mentioned, oooh about 9 or 10 pages ago), it just makes them angrier. The irony too is apparently lost on them :-/

    BBC3 Axed

To be honest I was vaguely swayed by the article until two things. Firtsly he reminded me that BBC3 was responsible for two pints of lager and a packet of crisps, a programme so painfully awful it made Miranda look like Fawlty Towers, and secondly he used the word trope...gnnnahhahhaaaaaah aaaanyway http://thequietus.com/articles/14695-bbc-political-bias
  23. we used to have Mr McGuffy from Grange Hill selling wood at a local timber merchant. we always felt vaguely star struck when he came on the big screen.
