  1. "isn't that a bit laissez faire EP" errm, not quite sure what you want *me* to do about it. It's obvious there's a bubble, just pointing out least newsful headline ever. Not sure this one's any more troubling than the last one, just the timescales are shorter. The normally disturbing think tank civitas suggested placing limits on foreign investment which seemed sensible to me. Though not sure foreigners buying up acres of riverside penthouses and chelsea mansions is really the root cause.
  2. bbc news reporting london housing market exhibitng bubble like behaviour. In other news the pope shits in the woods.

To be fair, west ham have a pretty poor record of bus parking, we tend to be woeful at defending set pieces and negative play is usually rewarded with goal leakage, so they did well to survive the onslaught. Mind you, Mourinho having a pop at negative football...hmmmmmm

basically any possible score is met with a deeply disturbing ambivalence. There is no joy in grinding a result with dire negative 19th century football except of course the joy in pissing chelsea fans off and watching Mourinho lose the plot. I have to say I loved his 'how dare they come and play like that, though I'd probably have done the some given the circumstances' rant.
  8. Talking of trains, it's as well I'm leaving soon else I might have ended up clubbing someone to death for not moving down the carriage when they have masses of room whilst others are being crushed to death. This morning's tosser looked up, then tutted and sunk his head into his hood whilst blocking the aisle stopping anyone else from shuyffling past him. GGGGNNNGNGNGNGN if I'd had LadyD's AK!!!!!!!!!! That's pretty rational rage though I guess...
  9. I think I said it more succinctly earlier but...http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2014/01/29/you-make-these-mistakes-i_n_4675728.html in other words we can't trust our senses or judgement but are inclined to do so :)
  10. "as it is specifically about London" I suspect National really means state in this sense as The Museum of London is one (which I recently did in three lunchtimes as I work about 200 metres away, and am running out of time to do all the things I've taken for granted). Well worth a visit especially for the prehistoric and roman collections.
  11. yeah, I have no idea where I stnad tax wise. My vague plan is to get paid in squids to a uk company and pay myself minimum wage in euros to keep myself away from the guinness I reckon ;-)
  12. I've no idea who you are but I'm sure we know each other at some level.....annyyhooooo Going freeleance wont necessarilly result in more working from home, just more money but more paperwork. If your options are really that open I'd talk to La Piba for some advice as she's done pretty well seting herself up in business and works from home when she dictates rather than when it's not being frowned upon. I work in a place where remote working is positively anathema, but am being taken on as a remote worker because I'm emigrating...have you considered moving to another country? ;)
  13. ...and result being not losing at home and getting a glorious and lucrative away tie. Come on, I'm a west ham fan, I take the good stuff where I can find it.
  14. that's per time they were in the 4th round, not per fa cup in existence.
  15. "The evidence for your Stevenage hope wasn't lacking - it just showed an extremely small chance of it happening" It's all about how you *want* to interpret things. The evidence of Stevenage getting a result in the 4th round of the FA Cup is about 50% so heart was at least no well placed than a contrary position. Of course sitting bottom with a terrible run of form, against Martinez's effective side suggested otherwise, but it was at least plausible. But you make a valid point about heart over head, given the balance of possibilities I chose to believe a contrary position. Had we never reached the 4th round I would still have gone for it because that's what I wanted to believe....... I'm sure there's a parabolic point to be made in there somewhere if someone can just spot the subtle clues.
  16. "dimmness/gullibility" is rather harsh. "Heart over head" is how I'd put it. Just for a while I truly believed that stevenage could get a result over everton. Turned out the evidence was lacking, but this is the sort of situation when you can prove the negative that there's no such thing as a stevenage cup defeat to everton. As the alleys for ghost enthusiasts to use scientific techniques to prove their existence diminish, so the noises about how science doesnt understand and they're only perceptible to those willing to believe (and by some non physical facet that our occular/tactile/aural senses somehow have over and above other ways of recording photons and pressure changes) accrete.
  17. Ha :) Although strictly speaking UFO. Not real still stands just No such thing as life elsewhere = massively unlikely. That said, we're in a pretty isolated bit of space, why anyone would use the enormous energies/thousands of years involved in supralight/sublight travel to get here and potter about concerning themselves with our sensibilities of truthes we may or may not be able to cope with, whilst obssessing with cow/field vandalism and probing anuses, is anyone's guess.
  18. I was on that train (the latter). There was a fair bit of rage bubbling up in the carriage.
  19. tedious trolls. People feeding them.
