  1. Ooooh, the ginger one *rubs thighs enthusiastically*
  2. I just click the hide this post from the reports, I don't think i'd ever paid any attention to the details. I eneded up having a look though (so bad you for giving them what they want) and they're desperately boring kitchens.
  3. has the sea air done funny things to you?
  4. loads of alt codes here, though tick isn't one. http://www.alt-codes.net/ you can always bring up the character map (if you're using windows) Quickest way is to press windows+r then type in charmap and press enter. you can select any symbol and copy it to your clipboard.
  5. Our island/range is under the skylights with the dining area in a darker bit (nearer the fire), but its probably a more unusual layout.
  6. I can but echo otta for obvious reasons. If i was at that stage in life now it would still be amazing, though there's nowhere quite like that era CPT left.
  7. I don't know why anyone bothers about anything, I mean Roots was really just Euripides' Τρῳάδες. Who needs to see a series of still pictures flicked quickly through, with a bright light behind it when you can have a bunch of blokes with stone masks at your local amphitheatre.
  8. Depressing and shameful indeed! On a lighter note I've been enjoying Masters of Sex. Annoyed at myself for reading Bill Masters' wikipedia entry now so I pretty much know how series 2 will pan out :(
  9. Facebook as viral epidemic to die off within 3 years http://www.theregister.co.uk/2014/01/23/facebook_disease_study/
  10. A bunch of people agreeing on anectodal speculation isn't really proof is it, especially when said people think that the much quieter modern fleets sound like concorde. Go to the welsh hills where the RAF train and remind yourself of the sound.
  11. This has all reminded me of 11th august '96. There were loads of geordies in one of our local pubs to watch the charity shield before wending their way to Knebworth to watch Oasis. By the time the 4th Man U goal went in this scary, slightly feral lass threw a pint through the telly, showering the kids playing underneath it with broken glass. That pub, the closest thing Letchworth had to a rough pub, is now sadly a posh thai restaurant :(
  12. how did you get that last twat past the filter? OOOOOooooh!! we can say twat!!!
  13. quite simply blimey! http://www.flickr.com/photos/lucaiaconistewart/with/11782192903/
  14. Yeah, I was at that game, a classic and we so should have won.
  15. I remind myself of this most days, try and minimise the damage.... They fuck you up, your mum and dad. They may not mean to, but they do. They fill you with the faults they had And add some extra, just for you. But they were fucked up in their turn By fools in old-style hats and coats, Who half the time were soppy-stern And half at one another?s throats. Man hands on misery to man. It deepens like a coastal shelf. Get out as early as you can, And don?t have any kids yourself.
  16. Thank you otta. Stevenage have a good record at home in the FA Cup, by which I mean we get a replay then lose away!!
  17. Bournemouth 1 V 3 Liverpool Birmingham 1 V 1 Swansea Bolton 1 V 2 Cardiff Port Vale 2 V 0 Brighton Southend 1 V 2 Hull Sunderland 2 V 0 Kidderminster Wigan 0 V 1 Crystal Palace Stevenage 2 V 0 Everton Sunday 26th January 2014 Sheff Utd 1 V 0 Fulham Chelsea 2 V 1 Stoke I may have gone with heart over head on one of thse results, still it's the cup, we can dream!!!
  18. Exactly. The entrance fee does entitle you to a year's entry though. I'm guessing the same story with St Paul's. Fifteen quid!!! I tend to contribute to Science & natural history whenever I go as worthy institutions.
  19. wot quids said
  20. "You'll never find a Labour, Conservative etc MP espousing offensive trash or being dishonest" They may not be those things that you described but they have cannier party apparatus, and party whips and the like. In other words they're taught to keep their mouths shut. Kippers are amateurs, which at least means we get to hear what they really think, which makes them nicely unelectable.
  21. ok (I usually use the gmail app), well on mine there are two tabs, message and attachments. on the latter by each attachment in the list you get a preview or a save button. preview then gives a choice of apps to preview with (with the once or always buttons). If you're not getting any options then I guess you'll need the appropriate app. try sending yourself a jpeg, the in built gallery app at lest should appear as an option or automatically open it if you have no alternatives.
  22. what email app are you using?
  23. I think it's going to have to be Waterford United. Go on the....ermm... (checks wikipedia...) The Blues. Seems they're the archetypal yo-yo team, so should feel right at home then!
  24. :) I'm not convinced the same money is out there though, given there's a whole generation who thinks everything is available for free on t'interweb. But there are obviously opportunities in the new technologies as well as pitfalls, and people will always pay to watch music live. So the era of the superband may be over but it may be easier to make a half decent living nowadays. I think that was the point i was trying to make rather than it was better when it were all fields.
  25. I feel sort of morally bound not to use spotify to listen to music. I use it to check music out, and if I like it I'll buy it (on cd or vinyl), that's made for fewer duff purchases in recent years. I mean I don't mind that new technology has made music less of path to megawealth. People will still carry doing something they love for a decent living wage, and fewer U2s can surely only be a good thing (in terms of the strutting egomania, I still like some of their stuff). But this expectation that they basically do it for free could really mean for a choice between home grown, seeing them live and generic derivative style over substance, which can't be a good thing. So a choice of Mildred Faquar and the Hamsters at the Buffs club (self published 3 gram vinyl and cd-roms available at the back) and Miley Cyrus/Lady GaGa/Puff SYmbol. I think I've just made myself cry.
