  1. Indeed there is. Welcome to the dark side! http://www.westdulwichforum.co.uk/ Annette Curtain Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > Girl82 Wrote: > -------------------------------------------------- > ----- > > Perhaps you should go and ask the folks on the > > West Dulwich forum! > > West Dulwich forum > > IS there such a place ?
  2. Hi, where is Kelston Road exactly? I can't seem to find it on googlemaps! The reason I ask is, I often hear someone cutting wood with an electrical device in the Dunstans Road area. It's not close enough to my house to bother me too much, but I imagine if you lived next door it could be very irritating! It happens regularly at weekends, and today from about 10am until 1pm.
  3. Oh dear...I hope it's not replaced by yet another betting shop or fast food joint - but I don't hold out much hope sadly.
  4. More info.... The Council's own Overview Scrutiny Committee decided that there were issues which needed to be probed before the Cabinet decision was implemented. The Scrutiny meeting will take place this coming TUESDAY 7th MAY 6-7pm at Council HQ 160 Tooley Street. The Scrutiny Committee paper summarising the issue is here: http://goo.gl/NQowI It is item 5 on the agenda (see http://goo.gl/od49J), and will start near 6pm. Councillor Fiona Colley in charge of the station regeneration project will be speaking, and Peckham Vision and other enterprises on the site will also have a voice. This is open to the public, and we will welcome support. It will be of interest to all who support the creative enterprises and independence of Peckham's local economy, and the need for a supportive nurturing approach to organic economic change. ___________________
  5. So now the council are reconsidering their initial decision to clear out all the businesses under the arches... http://moderngov.southwark.gov.uk/documents/s37457/Call-in%20Cover%20Report%20Gateway%20to%20Peckham.pdf
  6. Hmm, strange! My TV just has pretty much no signal at all. On the Virgin website it says there is a "known problem" in my area - hope they fix it soon!
  7. Perhaps you should go and ask the folks on the West Dulwich forum!
  8. Is anyone else having problems with Virgin Media tonight? I can't watch any TV channels as the signal is really badly affected. I might actually have to read a book! I'm on the Peckham Rye side of East Dulwich.
  9. I disagree - I really like a lot of the shops on Bellenden Road, from the bookshop that has been there for yonks, to The Begging Bowl Thai restaurant. I've eaten there a few times & really enjoyed it. UncleBen Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > Bellend it has always been, Bellend it will > remain. 10. Oh I see - sorry, didn't realise you were replying to Louisa! 11. I like some aspects of Rye Lane - Khan's, for example, is an amazing shop that seems to sell literally everything. It's like the tardis! I do object to businesses that chuck their litter out onto the street though (namely, the hairdressers) and bring down the environment for others. 12. Huggers...what's your point exactly?
  13. Hi pexprincess - it's contained in this document: http://moderngov.southwark.gov.uk/documents/s37260/Appendix%20D%20Copy%20of%20conciliation%20statement.pdf pexprincess Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > Hi > > Could you provide the link to the menu please?
  14. It is definitely connected to Terroirs, as when I was in one of their other restaurants recently, I asked the staff and they confirmed! StraferJack Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > Are the rumours about connections with Terroir > unfounded then?

Thanks Nigello - unfortunately I didn't see which business it was from, and I didn't actually see anybody drop it - it was just floating down the street as I walked into the station!
  16. By the way, I walked past the hugest clump of hair this morning on the way to the train at Peckham Rye Station, and nearly got it tangled round my foot! :D Not nice. The council really needs to clamp down on those businesses that seemingly have no concern about littering the streets.

I've actually seen a copy of the new menu online - it does sound great!

Try sitting outside on a Saturday Night? Thanks e-dealer - that is exactly what I meant. And yes, I am planning to walk past a few times to check out the noise levels anyway!
  19. ^^^ I don't want to live next to a hostel. If you have some sort of problem with that, then so be it. I will only be responding to constructive posters on this thread from now on, as frankly I (like most people!) have better things to do with my time than getting into arguments with people on a forum. Thanks to everyone who has offered helpful suggestions and advice so far! :D

  21. > > It is quite clear that here you agreed with James > concerning the 'scumbags'. *Sigh* Why don't people read things properly? It's quite clear from my original and subsequent posts that I have nothing against council tenants living next door - in fact, that's what I'm HOPING the property is! What I DON'T want is to inadvertently end up living next to a hostel. It's really not that hard to grasp, Mashcov.
  22. ^^^ Oh dear, I apologise. But it's galling when people come on here and accuse you of saying things you never said! P.s. Note to self - don't come on the East Dulwich Forum after a couple of glasses of wine! :D
  23. Pexprincess - where are these units and where have you heard that Franks will be taking them over? Interesting! pexprincess Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > From my research this is set to be a bar or cafe bar by > the same people who are responsible for Franks in > the Summer. 24. Interesting...thanks, Penguin. 25. Oh for goodness sake Nicci...if you actually bothered to read my original post you would see that I wasn't saying what you're insinuating at all. I would explain again but to be honest, life is far too short. By the way, you should hook up with another poster on here called Sue - I'm sure you'd get on like a house on fire (that is, if you're not the same person *rolls eyes*). And for the record, I wouldn't want to have you as my neighbour either! nicci Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > I can not believe the audacity of your original > post are you seriously suggesting that because you > are considering buying a house that is next door > to a council owned property that you will be > subject to anti social behaviour and "scumbags" as > per your next post.
