  1. The lack of places for a wee has somewhat limited our plans for outdoor socialising. However who are these people who can't be outside for a few hours without the need for a poo?
  2. My mum used to run after litter droppers and push it back in their hands whilst expressing polite concern that " they had left their belongings behind".
  3. People are circumventing instructions? Like Dominic Cummings when he used an exception meant for domestic violence victims to justify driving 240 miles from his home with his infected wife?
  4. Lockdown has been compromised because of the a tions of Cummings and the Government's idiotic defence of him.
  5. I agree. Sadly it was only a matter of time until something like this happened. We walk along this stretch a lot and have seen cars speeding, undertaking, cutting in ahead of cars at junctions.
  6. So you are furious about people with no or small gardens using a local open space to exercise (which is entirely within the rules) but cool with a man driving 250 miles across the country when he and his wife have Covid 19 symptoms? Yes. That is reasonable. As for what he could have done if genuinely concerned about the welfare of his child - use one of his London based family members? Ask his well sister to drive down and collect his don?
  7. Everything is tinder dry at the moment so I hope people are taking extra care with discarded cigarettes and BBQs.
  8. I can tell you it's been a while since most public servants have been able to retire at 60. Like most of my generation I am looking at a retirement age of 68 ( probably higher in future).
  9. Indeed, but it was only recently the freedom pass became valid before 9.30am - hence the bus driver nickname for freedom pass holders "twirlies" - derived from the enquiry "am i too early?"
  10. Plenty of people work low paid jobs and do not get free travel, what makes working over 60s so special?
  11. For gloves to be effective surely you have to change them everytime you would have washed your hands? I tjink it is better just to wash hands regularly and use hand sanitiser when you can't access water.
  12. Shh! Don't tell everyone! FH Sainsbury's has been great throughout this.
  13. I don't see how it is the Palmerstons fault people are sitting on fixed benches outside their closed pub. What exactly have you reported them for? Owning outdoor furniture?
  14. Millions of people, especially in London, are living in overcrowded or unsuitable housing. Others may be experiencing domestic abuse. Or simply it could be they are working hard in a small flat with little or no outdoor space and need a few minutes to themselves.
  15. Exactly. If mean minded petty judging cured coronavirus we'd be home and dry. I am a key worker putting in long hours. Last week at the end of a long and stressful week we went for a walk and treated ourselves to an ice cream after waiting in a very sensibly arranged queue for all of 5 minutes. Very much appreciated it was too.
  16. I am a person with no outdoor space and I am fine with people using public spaces in a responsible way.
  17. Tanning in the sun? Not in the last couple of days you didn't it's been cold and peeing it down with rain. Why is it selfish to use a public open space responsibly? Surely if you were there to observe these "selfish people" daring to use a public space you were also using it?
  18. Lyndhurst I agree. I am very busy doing difficult and emotionally stressful work related to the current situation. I get out for exercise everyday when I can, I absolutely do not resent anyone enjoying themselves within the guidelines.
  19. Yes you could try talking to them. There is a house on our road shared by four lads in their early twenties. They were shouted at a couple of weeks ago for "having a party" when they were sitting in their front garden chatting and drinking. They are one household so that is allowed.
  20. Sigh. Read the government guidance properly and come back and tell us what has been "bent" or "misinterpreted".
  21. Again it is down to indivdual risk appetite within the framework the government has given us.
  22. I wasn't aware the spirit of the regulations was to be as joyless as possible.
  23. What if people infrequently get an ice cream whilst out on an infrequent shop for essentials or on their way home from essential work?
  24. That is your risk appetite, others may vary. No one is forcing you to queue for ice cream. You are more likely to pick it up during a longer supermarket shop than a quick in and out trip to an ice cream shop. You need to understand the difference between things that are allowed and things you personally don't wish to do. I personally do not wish to travel on buses at the moment. However I am not jumping up and down telling people they should not get buses if they wish to.
  25. Because they are a shop that is allowed to be open - a cafe or restaurant selling hot or cold food for delivery or pick up. You might as well ask why DIY shops are allowed to be open but not clothes shops. Because the government rules allow one to be open but not the other. It really isn't that hard to grasp.
