  1. That's not always the case. Many houses were built before 'Southwark' existed.
  2. That's not always the case.
  3. What exactly is the problem - a fence or ivy or what ?
  4. a rant at somebody who will never ever read it. not the person you want to run your company's marketing initiatives, innit.
  5. all the species are as intelligent as they need to be, surely ? They've been around for millions of years and are the success stories, by definition. The only obvious flawed species is man, an example of what happens when a species of life gets too intelligent - it all goes to pot when a species starts wondering why they exist, inventing 'ju-ju man in the sky' stories, then devising ways to exterminate huge nos of people, whilst destroying the air we breathe, land/waters we eat from and stockpiling nuclear waste that has no chance of being stored safely for 20,000 years, let alone the 250,000 years required. Ends in tears I'm afraid.
  6. If there were any dogs in the audience would they have to be burned alive too ? Or babies in the audience ?
  7. ....a bit like humans are doing then.
  8. 12 hours of fun. The bastards.
  9. There is a difference between ISIS and what AM is saying, but it's only that they follow- through with their ill-thought out and misguided edicts.
  10. Many animals seem able to find food, clever Bastards.
  11. Interesting to note the change in that chap's demeanour.
  12. Sydenham woods, nunhead cemetery.
  13. what DaveR said. LM - What's with the hint on working class having a more accurate definition of rough ?! When I lived on IOW we used to go to Cowes during Cowes week to scrap the yachties, they were pretty tough guys and very few working class amongst them (at least in the big posh marquee / club where we traded with them). They certainly hit hard and were no strangers to (wait for it) 'a good old fashioned punch-up'. So I don't buy that for a second, however romantic it may seem.
  14. late 1990's Palmerston was no rough pub, in 1990 there was aggro there tho if you wanted some.
  15. "I'm sure that the ED people who have had to cope with the major London Bridge, Thameslink and Elephant & Castle problems this year would love to have ED served by the Tube" I'm intrigued, why are you sure about that ?
  16. "It's about time some of us forum members were given the opportunity to open specific threads in which we offer advice and expert knowledge on things we know quite a bit about." Could there be a 'miserable' section for negative posts, a 'genius' section for everything I post, and finally (I've always fancied this) an 'Arts' section for people to share their creativity - example threads perhaps being poetry and scribblings, output (photos of paintings/creations), music (your recordings [get in there Otta]), 'Events' (in the arts world).
  17. I'm going to try Mon/Fri work from home next year and Tues/Wed/Thurs in office. Home I intend to be IOW, I'll stay in ED mid-week. Let's see how it goes in reality. Views from house to die for tho...
  18. I'm in already in a small way but happy to help further
  19. However usually people laying hardcore don't use soil. So if the skip is for material to be later used as hardcore, the soil won't be any use. Having said that the soil will just filter down to the bottom of the skip and possibly never be used.
