West Dulwich LTN Action Group - needs your support
ab29 replied to Rashmipat's topic in Roads & Transport
Potato potato. I have absolutely voted against so/called ltn: I live on Lordship Lane, the traffic since the road blockade has been so much worst (air pollution, noise etc) - and so much longer to get to work! For those of us that still use public transport that is. Like, getting to King's Collage hospital in Denmark Hill is an hour / used to be 20min You say "No one 'voted' against LTN - well, I have, in the consultations. There was no referendum - this is semantics - let's have one then, see what ordinary people think! -

The consultations show almost 70% of residents voting against so-called ltn. And yet the council pushed through with changes residents opposed to in TWO consultations. Where does the money wasted on these consultations coming from? -

Excellent - let's have another consultation! Two of which I have already paid for - so maybe the third one will convince the arrogant and living in the bubble southwark council that residents of East Dulwich do not want the ltn. If the council and the ltn fans are of the opposite opinion what are you afraid of? -

No, I want to know why my money has been wasted on TWO referendums - paper, emails etc - and yet the outcome has been ignored: the residents were saying big "no" to ltn. And yet here I am, having the southwark council arrogant so-and-so lecturing me. "It's alsobeen five years so perhaps time to move onto other battles." Mmm no - having 100 cars on my road per day thanks to ltn as opposed to 10 csrs before ltn - not cool at all! Regardless of all the buts and the ifs: am sure the malumbus of this world would welcome the ltn referendum - after all, we all want it to be a fair game 🙂 -

This is a link about West Dulwich but how about having another referendum on so-called ltn in East Dulwich? To resolve the issue once and for all. It will cost money, obviously but since the council already wasted funds on two referendums and ignored the outcome - majority of ED residents were against ltn - and then the council wasted millions on never-ending-re/design of Dulwich Village junction then I assume this new referendum cost would be drop in an ocean for the said council 🙂 -
What is the point? They never read any messages, never reply to any, they do not care. Money waste and mismanagement is mind blowing

No idea what this post is about. Say, reopen the bridge in Dulwich Park:) And stop waste my council tax money 🙂 Meaning I want to see the bridge in Dulwich Park open and available to everyone who visits Dulwich Park. And I want to see road closuers across Southwark, Lambeth and the rest of London removed - they are harming pedestrians -

Council arrogance - what's new - and it is my money they waste Like, the bridge in Dulwich Park - closed for over a year - what is wrong with it? Whatever issue was there a year ago, it is now so much worst (=more expensive to fix) Where is the solution, why still closed, even tough the park is used by everyone? How come millions of pounds are wasted on tiny tiny Dulwich Village junction and yet the bridge in the park is rotting away? On the same note, why would universally hated so-called ltn be accepted? Who cares about what happened decades ago? -

West Dulwich LTN Action Group needs your help to challenge Lambeth Council in court! We need to raise £30k by Monday, 9th September – please donate here: https://gofund.me/ec59a9b3 We are fighting Lambeth Council’s proposal to impose a Low Traffic Neighbourhood (LTN) on West Dulwich, which will cause increased traffic and pollution – just like their disastrous scheme in Streatham. The council has manipulated data, ignored our legal letters, and failed to properly consult residents. We support reducing pollution, but not through a one-size-fits-all LTN that will create a problem which we currently do not have! Your contribution will help us take the council to theHigh Court for a judicial review. It's time to hold them accountable for their misleading actions and poor decision-making. Please donate, share our cause, and help us fight for a fairer solution. Together, we can make a difference – and if we succeed, you may even get your money back! and hear, hear it is 🙂based on yrs of living in Southwark council area @malumbu: if you really cannot see issues that ordinary people have - and these issues have been voiced on this forum and elsewhere - then we really have a problem with the councils full stop -

One Dulwich Campaign Update | 31 May West Dulwich victory keeps the fightback against LTNs in the news Media coverage about community opposition to LTNs has continued since West Dulwich Action Group’s High Court success – excellent opinion pieces in the Guardian and the Times, an in-depth article in the Telegraph, and articles in the Critic and Spectator. One Dulwich also contributed to a discussion about LTNs on Nick Ferrari’s show on LBC (02:49:50) on 28 May. Department for Transport considers next moves One Dulwich and Social & Environmental Justice have written again to Transport Secretary Heidi Alexander asking the DfT to introduce a proper legal framework for LTNs in the light of the WDAG verdict. She replied to say that the Government is still considering next steps. No response from Southwark Council We have written again to Southwark Highways asking them to respond to concerns submitted in February, at their request, about the safety of pedestrians and cyclists at the Dulwich Village junction. So far, we have heard nothing back. Meanwhile, following the closure of D Village last month, and Dalloz Fine Art moving to Clapham, another Dulwich Village business, Romeo Jones, has sadly closed. This comes just four weeks after chair of the Dulwich Village Association Hazel Broadfoot warned about the negative effect on local businesses of the new CPZ and the “highly confusing” camera restrictions on main access roads. She said: “If we continue to make it so difficult for people to access Dulwich Village by car, then shops will close and jobs will be lost.” Thank you for your support. Traffic cones and traffic fences seem like a motif this year; some have been there for months and months - council is really busy wasting taxpayer money 🤔 -

How can this work be taking longer than 13 weeks? Does Southwark council have too much money and doesn't know how to spend it? -

Is this not a regular Southwark council BAU - we are now back in 70ies?
