You could say it was maintenance but more me trying to find out the problem and causing other issues. I think the main problem is with the SSL certificate(s), there seem to be different ones for www. and mail. and that's causing browsers to say "watch out, there's a problem as they don't match. Don't go further as there be dragons". Or similar. We moved the site to a new server a few months ago and I'm guessing that's when the issue started. I, and quite a few of us, rely on the browser history (mine autocompletes to www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/forum/list.php?5) which works fine but some people go to www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk which is broken. And some go the long way round to Google to look up the forum and then click the link, which is currently showing mail.eastdulwichforum.co.uk, which is also broken. I have some server people looking at the issue so hopefully it'll be fixed soon, thank you for flagging it up as I would never have known about it.

Ah, I think I see the problem A search on Google for East Dulwich Forum bring up the FB page (cheeky gits) and then next up is mail.eastdulwichforum.co.uk which means there's a server configuration error on my side. I need to sort that out, somehow.

Thanks for informing me but I'm still not sure what's happening so it would really help to know: What do people mean by a "mail site"? Are you going to eastdulwichforum.co.uk? "Can the unsecure menu be taken off", could you explain what the unsecured menu is? Are you on mobiles, PC or MAC, Internet Explorer, Chrome? Your answers will help replicate the problem so we can address it. Thank you!

The forum doesn't have a Facebook page, some cleaners set it up in our name to take advantage of our brand and get themselves work. Sorry but all I can say is make sure you're going to /

Can we stay on topic here, maybe continuing AllisonAdler's comments / questions to gain clarity on the situation at hand. -
Yet again, please get off the forum and stay off. You've been banned multiple times for over advertising, being rude, having multiple identities, arguing with yourself, trolling etc. You're spoiling it for others, go away. Please join Facebook or somewhere else where you can annoy people with your multiple identities that back up your own arguments. But don't do it here. Your user names have included P3Girl, cidolphus, Big Ben, Trapbarn, 209edg, Mahoody, Hamletter, Trinnydad, Dulwich Dyson, EDGman, effra, Tomdhu, Droid, flippit, PollyGlot, James, Aaron, Tom. Please, find something else to do with your life.

Low Traffic Neighbourhoods - multiple threads
Administrator replied to Earl Aelfheah's topic in The Lounge
I'm marking them as LTN in the title, for now. It helps me monitor them and raise awareness that they're all about the same thing. Let me know if I miss any new ones. -

Hamletter is currently Dyson, EDGman, effra and Tomdhu. He's been warned multiple times about multiple identities. I feel a need to crack a nut but unfortunately I've only got a sledgehammer to hand.

Locking this as the original question has been answered.

Locking this thread while there's a charge pending. And moving to the Lounge.

When WILL Dulwich library reopen?
Administrator replied to apbremer's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
Good spot Sidhue, DulwichDaddio is Stephen Taylor, Trolley Snatcha etc -
OatLatte has been banned from this section for pushing information in such a way that it bends the truth to mislead. And they're one of multiples identities which is typical troll behaviour. When I remove their messages it may cock-up the flow of the thread, apologies. This section is for useful information, not speculative anti-vax nonsense.

vegancow is the same person as uplandrd2020 Edited: I have been told that they are in the same house. I assume the same upbringing and schools considering the uniquel similarities with the grammar styles.

This site went down - apologies
Administrator replied to Administrator's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
All threads will be kept if I have my way. I'm not aware of a previous time where lots of threads disappeared. And yes, old Private Messages might have to go as they're tricky to migrate, so you will get plenty of warning if that has to happen. -
Morning This site went down this morning at 3am until 8.30, I'm not sure why but it is a reminder that the forum needs a major upgrade. This year we may have to move to new software, which would mean a different look and feel (hurrah! some of you say), you'll have to change your passwords but you'll get better features. The forum is independent, we don't monitor your every move and then target you. We don't track your messages, friends, emotions and then use that to sell you stuff. Aside from the adverts on the side, everything here is written by you. So just a warning that the software it runs on will hopefully change this year, which might be a little bit of pain for a lot of gain. 15 years without a major change isn't bad. We're currently looking at using PHPBB3 as the new software if you know any PHPBB? expert please send them my way. If anyone has any other suggestions for forum software please let me know. Have a lovely day.
