  1. Monica, I'm building-up a profile of your dream man. Building design - Kevin McLeod ('dishy') Cooking - Hugh F-W ('adorable') Who will be next..?
  2. At the school I went to, many of the parents got off their arses and made a concerted effort to support the school and the teachers, thus allowing the teachers to spend their time doing their job, which was teaching. This in turn had the effect of encouraging the teachers to offer to do more for the children above and beyond regular teaching hours. Parents are also 'not so precious that they couldn't take it in turns to stand outside the gates for 10 minutes to stop parents parking illegally or stopping dangerously'. Unfortunately the current trend seems to be an unhealthy obsession with 'getting THE best school at all costs' followed by chucking Junior out of the car in the morning, collecting in the evening and then blaming the school if anything goes wrong with perceived development of said sprog.
  3. Looks like a warm one today. Looking forward to a couple in the back garden with lunch.
  4. Washed-down with a mini bottle of wine, of course. But no more than that.
  5. Drinking on long haul flights.. never a good idea. Stick to valium instead.
  6. Who's the current BBC SP holder..? Ah yes - Chris Hoy. His recent performance for 'Shredded Wheat' makes Beefie Botham's effort look like De Niro.
  7. He does, however, have a personality - which would make a pleasant change.
  8. My suggestion? Seeing as I'm in the market for a good old moan and this seems to be as good a place as any, I bought my first 'PC' (a laptop) a few weeks ago, after 15 years of Macs, for non-work pottering. How bad could it be? It was shite! Fresh out of the box - it was glitchy, annoying - and promptly returned. Apple - forgive me, for I have sinned. It won't happen again.

  10. Ted Max Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > Speechless. Aw c'mon Ted, it could have been worse. He could have blacked-up for it.

    Peace One Day

'World Fanta Day' is later in the year, I think.

    Peace One Day

"Following the success of its limited edition collectible Original Glass Bottles, Coca-Cola is introducing the 'Peace' bottle to celebrate 'Peace Day' (21st September). Created to raise global awareness, the limited edition aluminium Contour bottle features simple Peace One Day graphics, which effectively communicates the Peace One Day message - quite simply, a global day of peace and non-violence. The 'Peace' bottle is inspired by the spirit of optimism and encapsulates the positive values and vision of both Peace One Day and Coca-Cola" Peace and Love, everybody. And don't forget to drink more Coke.
  13. Tone, You'd better sit down - I've got lots of bad news. Since Lenny McLean died - nearly ten years ago - lots of other people have too. A busy day ahead for you - and google. Anyway - this thread is about Lenny McLeish. Please show some respect. Ps - you did hear about Diana, didn't you?
  14. I read with much sadness this morning that Lenny 'Joe' McLeish passed away last night, at 10.56pm. Lenny found early fame with the BBC during the 1950s in hit shows Don't Tell Mother and Pass The Brush, but it was his work on Bird Watch? for Anglia which made him a household name. . A late move to Hollywood saw him earn the admiration of a whole new generation through a series of road safety commercials and as a body double in Predator II. Never one to complain and always a fighter, Lenny finally 'passed his last brush' after a long battle with thrush outside the Golden Lion in Dudley last night, surrounded by family and friends. God Bless.
  15. Fat and spotty?
  16. I'm with you on Rhodes on the whole - but he has at least provided us with some television gold, in the form of his toe-curling performance on Strictly. Wozza has given us nothing - save perhaps the occasional orange pube in the sorbet.
  17. I feel they ought to consider a return to the old, classic format - perhaps even with Grossman 'deliberating, cogitating and masturbating' over the dishes (or wheteever urt wurse he sared)
  18. Personally I feel Masterchef has gone downhill since they started using those two car mechanics as presenters, and decided to soundtrack the show entirely with a trance CD from 1998.
  19. Sorry, Tony. Mick beat you to it this time. You can do the next one though - take turns.
  20. Come to think of it, I can think of no greater analogy for living in East Dulwich than that of being trapped in a lift with Hugh Fearnley-Whittingstall.
  21. cooking animals right
  22. You might get a few awkward silences, but I don't think Hugh has the same potential for irritation as the others in the list.
  23. Do you think Rhodes is as harmless as he seems?
