Is he available for lunchtime drinking? Anytime after 11am will be fine, thinking about it.

If you're logged into FB already, and then you look at this thread, your FB profile pic will appear at the top of the thread above. But only if you're already logged-in. Top geekery.

Obviously an ex-'Razzle' reader. Check in the shed, underneath the the box which the lawnmower came in. Old habits die hard (so to speak).

Huguenot Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > No they don't Asset. And you're a girl so how > would you know? I think the (alleged) straight hetero male's 'fascination' with two girls getting it on is a hangover from past censorship within the British and American porn industry. Being illegal (as it was) to show boy-girl action in any sort of realistic way (a photo of a gentlemen with an orgasmic expression waving a floppy cock a good foot away from his partner didn't really cut the mustard) - jazz mags soon realised that having two girls, say, messily eating a melon with their knockers touching was a much better draw for their top-shelf readers. And so was perpetuated they myth of the 'lesbian fantasy'. Personally I don't find it a turn-on at all. They should get a room.

What's this 'breakfast tv' and when can I see it?

Adventure bar - East Dulwich (Lounged when no longer about same)

Surely the name and signage is an overt homage to ? Maybe (and I might be talking to about three people here) they're going to have a talking plants and a Vortex out back? -
Proper houseparties (which require an open door policy, broken furnishings, specially painted walls, a visit from the Police and at least 25% of the attendants to be completely unknown by the hosts) are best left to those in shared accommodation, Australians, or preferably both.

In keeping with the recent 'moving out of east dulwich' thread, another fine example of the current trend of newspaper 'articles' wherein the interviewee is required to surrender pointless personal information ("my husband and I have joint bank accounts. Every month, he takes a chunk from the current account and places it into our savings") in return for a bit of free publicity.

The people selling the one on Forest Hill Road didn't get their million+ and have decided to rent it. Strange.. I would have thought the handy local amenities right on their doorstep (Co-Op, DIY shop, launderette, Stationers-cum-used-car-park-lot) would have swung it. Perhaps potential buyers were put-off by not being able to back their yacht out of the car park onto the busy road.

jrussel.. I think your letter to Boris is genius. If there's a fine line between "genuine fruitloop" and "having a laugh" then your letter is right on it. I don't know if Boris will ever read it, but I'm sure someone at City Hall will pin it up in the canteen for a bit of fun.

Me? No. I don't know who wrote it, but millionaire Trevor Horn added 'the magic'. As far as I know he doesn't live in East Dulwich. And I don't know what counter they work on, but they'll need to wear a hair net.

PHWOAR GET A LOAD OF 'ER I WOULDN'T MIND GIVIN' 'ER ONE DRIBBLE Does anyone remember the days when you didn't have to sing about being lesbian-curious to make yourself sexier to the masses? I'd choose pseudo-lipsticklezzies Tatu over her. At least their song was better and they don't look like they work the cheese counter at Asda on Saturday (and have a name to match)

I don't think this is a 'green things' issue in the current newsworthy sense(eg airport protests, emissions, global warming, whale-saving, nutroast-eating, multicolour jumpers etc). It's surely just a case a people literally liking the look of green, living things in preference to more sallow, miserable concrete. My current working vista is a large window through which I can only see trees, swaying gently in the breeze to the the sound of cheap music, and perhaps a few chimney pots. I'd hate to see it go in order to squeeze in a few starter homes. I'd rather newlyweds get their first foot on the ladder in, say, Luton, and work their way back in.

I have also noted that all current pushy door-knockers (of all colours, creeds, heights etc) are waging war on uSwitch and the like. My favourite so far "sir, did you know that uSwitch is a commercial company?" (said the man from Atlantic Electric & Gas) Which makes me mildly suspicious of thedoctor740 (above), who encourages us (in his first post) to shun comparison sites, be wary of Ebico (in particular) and talk to pushy door-knockers. Yeah, right!

It's interesting.. You could have a pushy door-knocking blonde, a pushy door-knocking midget, a pushy door-knocking American, a pushy door-knocking goth, a pushy door-knocking student... but a pushy door-knocking asian? I disagree that The Offence is caused by inclusion of 'Asian' in the pushy door-knocking clause; more in the omission of 'man' after 'Asian'. A 'pushy door-knocking Asian man' wouldn't raise so many eyebrows. I think it's because most people have memories of hearing people talk about 'the asians'/ 'an asian' / 'a couple of asians' in that general non-specific way which always seems to have negative implications. I still hear it every time I go back to The Midlands, unfortunately.

I think I've found the solution..

We're always going to need more social housing. You could uproot every green living thing for twenty miles in order to stick-up low-cost housing, and in twenty years we'll be in the same boat, only with no green living things.

For you..? Or for your neighbours?

Do trees feel pleasure? Maybe they really look forward to a good, hard pollarding - once a year. Who knows? I agree with you, EDOldie - trees should be properly managed. I'm sure most other people here do as well. The thorns of the debate seem to be centred around where the right or wrong place for a tree might be. In Jrussel's case, the answer seems to be (specifically) nowhere near the development which didn't get planning permission. Which is a bit of a poor show.

jrussel Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > Thank you EDoldie; I am glad that someone has some > sympathy with my feelings on this matter. Joining forces with someone who believes trees 'feel pain'.. is this wise? I wish the both of you the best of luck with your (disputed) subsidence claims.

I'm not sure if SMBS is a suitable alternative for Somerfield shoppers. Not everyone can afford to spend over ?2 for six frozen lime leaves.

Does anyone else tthink so too?

A friend of mine works at City Hall, and has given me some inside information. Word is that Boris Johnson is going to plant an acorn in the top of his head (on Christmas Day this year). With regular feeds from a genetically modified fertiliser - and by spending at least ten hours a day under sodium lamps - Boris says that this acorn will grow into a giant 'super tree', capable of providing London with at least half its oxygen. This will in turn allow a rapid program of tree-felling thoughout the capital, a doubling of the number of black cabs, and the right to smoke cigars in lifts anywhere within the bounds of the M25.
