  2. Most people come on here as a diversion from everyday life*, not to make themselves a better person. Threads with extended repeat viewings are almost always the ones with childish scrapping and confrontation. Like this one. It's the same reason why people watch Eastenders. *or find a plumber

    It's a boy

I expect it was one of the 'emergency c-sections'
  4. I agree London would probably be pointless without at least two sides of the work/family/friends triangle in place. But I feel anyone who has boiled all the other positives of 'London Life' down to plain old facilities ought to question why they're here! Apply to any other comparable city: "I'm not living in New York for the shopping and the odd trip to MOMA". Like, helloo? You're living in NEW YORK, baby!
  5. How that other thread going, fl0wer..? The one where we all try to live together in peace and harmony? QED

  7. Have we been here long enough to start dissing the new wave of incomers now? Excellent.
  8. Nobody likes to see friends go (and we've lost a few ourselves to places further away than surrey) but I don't quite see the logic of leaving because they have if YOU don't have to.. Unless you want to live next door to each other like Ant and Dec or something weird. If work and friends is the only reason you're living in London, you're probably in the wrong town anyway..? London is full of potential new pals.. And there's a darned sight more chance you'll find more people you really get on with than in Smalltown, Kent. So make some new friends.. Bosh. And make sure some of them are gay.. Because they are unlikely to be leaving anytime soon.
  9. They wouldn't do one in WN and one in ED, I don't think.
  10. I have a friend in West Norwood. Apparently, Picturehouse are going to West Norwood.
  11. It has, Mick. Sorry about the delay - we got talking about old times. Well I told Steve all about it - about the harmless banter about illegal immigrants from the Asian subcontinent smelling so strongly of curry than they were able to use their underwear to flavour the food - and he found it hilarious. Would you believe it? He then proceeded to smother his face in squid in and sing 'Mammy'. Needless to say I was flabbergasted.
  12. I'll ask Steve tonight - over dinner. Let's get this sorted once and for all.
  13. It's a beautiful idea, but most people don't come on here to sit in a circle, holding hands and chanting. They come here to rubberneck - or find a plumber.
  14. Follow the tumblin' tumbleweave..
  15. Ironically this looks to have been a rare but ill-advised venture into lighthearted banter.. With use of an exclamation mark and everything!!!!!
  16. Don't blame UncleBen With this heatwave I expect he just woke-up confused, thinking it was 1976.
  17. I'm with TalkTalk. Costs me about ?21/month - which includes the line rental, calls to all landlines at any time, international calls also included any time (to most countries), free calls to 0845. Speed runs about 5-6Mb. Generous downloads.. Haven't checked if it's unlimited but I have regularly downloaded 50Gb+ over a few days from time to time with no trouble at all. Had it for 7 years, no major outages. So it's been good to us.. no complaints at all.
  18. Batteries in the handle. Button on the handle. Press button to electrify grid. BOOM. So MY FRIEND says
  19. "He" has been very happy with the results.
  20. You need to bring a little buzz of your own to the proceedings, 'Nette - and for that, these electrified fly swatters are just the thing. Great fun for all the family. My friend actually got their original ones in an S&M shop. Apparently their original purpose has been, er, abused.
  21. Let us chant together the eternal rat myth cobbers "YOU ARE NEVER MORE THAN TWO CENTIMETERS AWAY FROM AT LEAST FOUR RATS AT ALL TIMES" amen Ps - Bob Holness / Saxophone Solo / Baker Street
  22. Is the very decent pizza at The Actress - 60 seconds walk from the middle of LL - 60 seconds too far?
  23. "I wish them well"
  24. As for pizza & pizza.. come on.. this has 'uninspired' and 'doomed' written all over it, I'm afraid. The place has no ambience and can't really accommodate the family crowd. Take away those two things and is there really any reason to go Italian - unless the food is particularly extraordinary (which - let's face it - it hardly ever is)? If nobody opens a decent asianyfusiony-type place soon I might have to break out the wok give it a go myself. Licence to print money if there ever was one. Fujiyama - in Brixton - is doing nicely out of SE22 even with a recently-added ?3 delivery charge!
