I'm thinking of getting a bigger 4x4 than my current one because of a minority of dickheads who drive normal cars in East Dulwich thinking there is enough room for our two vehicles to pass each at the same time, forcing me to slow down and sometimes even stop. I think a bigger 4x4 is now needed to get these people to realise they need to pullover and allow me to pass unhindered.

Lewisham is a good performing hospital that has had a considerable amount of money spent on modernising it recent years but it is now being clobbered because two other hospitals can't manage their budgets properly.

Awareness of Tourettes has been around a while. I remember watching QED's "Johnnie's not mad" as a kid. The next day at school, everyone had it! Also, not so much a disease but binge drinking - this was just called "a big night out"!

Kids go into pubs - some of them are annoying, some of them aren't. Just like adults really. Why anyone lives somewhere like East Dulwich, a part of London that is known for the density of young families and the cafes/pubs/restaurants that cater for them, and then moans about kids is beyond me.

Not had a delivery go missing, but a recently posted a LoveFilm disc back using a local postbox that didn't get there.

Hmm, I did wonder about the Kindle Fire - is the Amazon App store any good?

I'm looking at buying the Blackberry Playbook. I want a tablet that is smaller, lighter and cheaper than an ipad and as far as I can see, the main criticism of the Playbook is the lack of apps in Blackberry App World. But, reading some of the techie forums it sounds like you can get the Android Market on the Playbook if it is the OS 2.0. So, with my lack of tech speak, is the OS 2.0 the same as BlackBerry Tablet OS QNX (which is what I'm thinking of buying)? And if so, is it easy enough for a non techie like me to get this onto the Playbook? I'd be grateful for your thoughts/help!

Like e-dealer says, this has already been stated earlier, but as you appear to have missed it, the exact text word for word was: "This morning a man tried to abduct a yr 6 child on his way to a local school. If you dont want your child to go home on their own please contact the school." I used the word "attempted" in my second post (rather than the word "tried" which admittedly is what Heber used), but nevertheless it seems pretty clear to me.

There is no inference - "attempted abduction" is the exact wording used by Heber School on their communication to parents. With all due respect to WoolWitch, I'd rather heed the official communication from the school sent direct to parents than a post made on an Internet forum.

Well, when I was in the playground this afternoon EVERY parent I spoke to thought it was very responsible of the school to send the text and are pleased with this sort of information distribution the school now has.

"This morning, a man tried to abduct a yr 6 child on his way to a local school" - that was a message sent to parents from a school. Seems like a pretty clear warning rather than "unnecessary scaremongering" to me.

Thanks all. We were interested in a single loft (I think!). However, at the moment we're still trying to decide if we've seen anywhere that we love enough to start this process before we've purchased the property, which I guess tells you we haven't!

They've now said there won't be any strikes until after Easter. No need to panic buy for at least 10 days.

AM - I find the layout of that station a bit naff, or rather it's a bit cramped, anyway so quite often cars can be backed up on to the road. May be people were panicing this morning trying get some before work and then it had settled down by the time I got there.

Nothing - Esso by the Horniman was fine this afternoon. I had to queue longer to pay once I was inside!

You could "demand" as much as you like, but they won't have broken any law if you're in a public place. Don't get me wrong, I wouldn't like it either, but if you're in a public place there's no law being broken if a complete stranger takes your photograph.

Photographing people in public does not break any laws!
