I shop there regularly, have done for some years and I can't see in what way the staff's 'attitude' is "piss poor" or has been over the time I've been using the place. For the most part I've been treated witn courtesy, respect and a certain amount of 'chumminess', depending who I was served by. There's never been any shortage of 'next customer please' straight edges at any time I've visited the place so that is inaccurate, I know it. It's a fact. You can go and count them. Not enough light in the place for you to distinguish between the tinned beans and the tinned spaghetti? There's enough light shed on everything for me and my not in the best eyesight to be able to distiguish between the various items on sale. If you're partially sighted, then I'm sure the good people there would help you out. If you're not, then I reckon you're talking a load of tinned bollocks.

  6. I had no idea that Waitrose had that sort of thing going on. It gives me pause for thought. If you don't mind Ms B, may I rest my cyber head on your cyber shoulder for a spell, while I consider it? 'Preciate it.
  7. It can truly be construed as a being in London because it has at least one bus service that runs to Oxford Circus. It feels safe in a not too much obvious crime going on sort of way. Fewer lowlife street scumbags littering up the place than in many locales. The shops? The boutiques? Foldarol and window dressing to pick and choose as you please. I know where to catch a bus to Peckham in order to buy cheaper stuff, I have an Oyster card and I'm going to use it. I know how to get back as well.

That's why I avoid it and rock 'n' roll my way down to Rock Steady Eddie's at Camberwell. #That's why I go for that rock and roll (and butter) music.....#
  11. In honour of the blessed Davina of BB, how about if a pact is made to stand outside the shop, shouting in our orders and asking them not to swear? Let's see which of the shopgirls is the first to crack and stab someone.
  12. Shot With His Own Gun - Elvis Costello
  13. Agree with all you've said there Bawdy-nan but most of all for the phrase 'bobby beans' I'm not sure exactly what you mean, I'm guessing there's a certain amount of gist involved, but what grocer could argue if you went back and accused him of selling you beans that were 'bobby'. Well done.

Utter bloody perfection, one big hair, the second bigger opinions and the third you could always cadge a smoke off. I salute your choices, Nero and if it was within my gift I'd declare you the winner. Well done.

He's only good looking and will be of little use for sugar borrowing and chats. See below for the best combination. In my haughty opinion.
