I think it depends where you go on Lordship Lane! I don't think that all the bars between Goose Green and The Palmerston are full of under-age drinkers who behave anti-socially, even late at night. I can go out with my friends till 2am to the EDT or Bishop or Liquorish and have never seen any trouble on a Friday or Saturday and many of these bars have an over-21 policy anyway. There are plenty of people who enjoy a late-night drink at the weekend without resorting to fighting, vomitting in the street or whatever else people say they see on LL. And East Dulwich is not a village, it is a surburb of a large city. If people want a village atmosphere, move out of London. I personally choose to live in East Dulwich because it's busy, lively and has a number of good bars and restaurants. If I wanted quiet, peaceful and pubs that closed at 11pm I would move away.

The Actress is due to open in 8 weeks I think so it won't be open in time for these drinks, maybe that's a venue for October.

I like the fact that bars stay open late on LL as it saves having to travel for a night out. And I don't think the behaviour is as bad as some on here suggest. I lived on LL for 5 years and was never really bothered by late-night noise. Having late licenses on Thursdays and Sundays doesn't bother me, not that I would go out till late on these nights - but not everybody works Monday-Friday and goes out only at the weekend.

Why not, the CPT it is. I hope people are going to turn up now.

Yes the Barry Barry Road Race is a chance for us all to get together again and have one (or two) drinks. It isn't RIP Forum Drinks - as I said it seems that every month is too often. Let's do another in Sept and see how it goes.

After some discussion on Friday, the drinks (and me) will be taking a break for the summer. Attendance at them isn't what it used to be and I think it might be better to have them every 3 months instead of monthly. So I propose that the next drinks should be in September. Have a great summer!
