  1. last time I reported a street light out they repaired it within 24 hours
  2. The answer to your first question is because it had been raining hard. I live a minute from Lordship Lane-walk down it most days and have never noticed a problem with the pavements. However the shop keepers you mention are certainly cutting down safe walking space in various ways and bicyclists on the pavement are a hazard.
  3. www.catcuddles.org.uk/rehoming-cats This is a lovely organisation in Plumstead who hopefully should be able to help you.
  4. "It is named after Charles Barry and is said to be exactly one mile long. Barry designed Dulwich Park, to which the road leads. Westerfield Road became Barry Road in 1867." I think it was a sort of grand avenue for carriages for the likes of Queen Victoria who came to Dulwich Park to admire the rhododendrons
  5. Yes-best fish and chips around here.
  6. is it an NHS letter? Apparently the new computer system at Kings and Guys is generating letters to people who lived at addresses up to 30 years ago.
  7. Perhaps more important than where things are-there are now no recycling facilities
  8. Just had lunch there. Awful, cold and claggy as in post above, more or less covers it.
  9. Lovely plumber, talked me through everything and fixed the problem. Will definitely use again
  10. There is a small "yang" next to the chi. Googling it seems that this can be either Korean fried chicken or an eastern physical therapy. So who knows what we might be getting!?
  11. No-don't go to Kwikfit. Go to the little corner tyre place opposite-half the price
  12. I have been with the Gardens a few months now and have found all the receptionists to be friendly, polite and helpful.
  13. Are you having a whinge about having nothing to whinge about?
  14. Hi, I have mine. There is indeed no contact number on the website but if you google how to contact Southwark Council you will find a couple of customer service phone numbers. Good luck
  15. I do have my doubts about the pricing, because I noticed that many things were cheaper but quite a bit smaller than usual, rolls of toilet paper for instance.
  16. Hi. I am in a similar situation but in the downstairs flat. I had my flat soundproofed by soundproofing r us and, apart from the naff name, I would thoroughly recommend them. It basically stopped all airborne noise
  17. Vale Pharmacy seconded
  18. I hope you are right-it looks great
  19. I had an extremely helpful person when I phoned them with a problem.
  20. If it is the same place(and it sounds like it) I got a ticket for driving there-were you between 3 and 5 pm?
  21. Billy Ocean. Could you send cat round to me-mine just chunters at squirrels and maybe yours could give him some lessons about getting rid of them. By the way, if anyone is planting bulbs and is getting tired of the squirrels digging them up, the easiest solution is a liberal sprinkling of chili flakes over the soil. The squirrels then leave well alone
  22. Example number one-of course pay for the full hour. Example number 2-negotiate with tradesperson but be prepared to pay for 2 hours
  23. I really like the Neighbourhood vets but have also found problems with their charging When I have pointed things out they have always put it right and blamed it on a new computer system. I really don't think they are trying to be underhand but something does seem to be wrong with the system.
  24. I would say don't get too many boards and over complicate things. The COVID 19 was an "add-on" and has served its use. Hopefully it will not have to be re-instated. By the way Joe, I am feeling at home with the new forum now. Well done and Thanks
