  1. Hi kattykit I use my own pump so I'm not sure if they do hire them, would suggest giving them a call - number at the top of the thread- they're usually away from the phone as its a busy ward but they do respond to messages within a day or so. Good luck x
  2. Thanks dildals! Lovely to hear from you and glad the donor milk helped your baby :) It definitely helps motivate me to express and donate when you hear about the difference it's made. Etta I quite agree, it is easier than you think to express once you get into a routine. Do give the ladies at kings a ring if you're interested. X
  3. Hi all Just wanted to give a plug for the kings milk bank. The ladies that run it are always looking for new milk donors. They're really lovely and organise coffee mornings so you can meet the team and hear about how your donations help the tiny and sick babies in the unit. They can be contacted on 020 3299 3038.
  4. Not quite in your area but dulwich wood house near Sydenham hill woods has a private room which is very nice, seats around 20 I think x
  5. Sorry to hear that. We are quite near overhill and our car was broken into on our drive when we were at home, but no sign of forced entry, our car locks after a certain time in any case but we are sure we locked it. This happened a month ago. Luckily nothing of value taken. It does seem to be happening a lot round here at the moment, seen quite a few other posts on the forum about this recently.
  6. Us too, two weekends ago, nothing of value stolen. Have emailed lewisham police (just over boundary) but heard nothing back..anyone else reported it, if so what was the response?
  7. I'm hoping to make it tomorrow with my two but may be late due to toddler nap. Think it's forecast heavy rain tomorrow but hopefully the skies will clear by the afternoon. X
  8. No idea how you say it sorry but they serve lovely food :)
  9. Just seen you have kids, Newport sands beach great for kids as its in a bay so tide not strong. There may be others closer to st davids though! Didn't have kids when at cwtch but seemed family friendly sort of place.
  10. Try cwtch restaurant in st David's, had a very nice meal there two yrs ago. Cathedral worth looking round not sure how far you want to travel from st David's but Newport about a 30min drive away, lovely sandy beach (Newport sands), great views, cute village with arty shops and nice cafes, bike riding available too Preseli hills good too Check out sunset from strumble head on the coast
  11. I phoned southwark yesterday to report this fault and was put through to tfl.. Spoke to someone in their street works team and reported the fault, apparently their engineers were going to be told straight away.. I hope the contractor who installed the lights is got back to fix them at no cost to taxpayer.. Seeing as they've just been put in its not acceptable that they're broken already.
  12. It's on a wall outside no 50 Westwood park. Brown kickers shoe with a hedgehog on the front. Hope it gets returned to it's owner! Have popped it into a clear Plastic bag in case of rain.
  13. Congrats on the new arrivals! We can't make tomorrow but we are around next week. X
  14. Hi all A regular arrangement sounds good. Either clock house or Peckham rye one o clock club works for us...what is the consensus? It will be good to have something for the toddlers to do too! Katiesa - good luck, my first was just over two weeks early and second was a week late... Was climbing the walls by the end! Looking forward to meeting up xx
  15. Hi all, We haven't made any meet ups yet - found it difficult to get out the house with a huge bump and a 19 month toddler once mat leave started. However, my baby boy arrived last week! Looking forward to getting to a meetup when we are able to get organised enough to get a newborn and toddler out at the same time! Would also be v keen on any meet ups at toddler groups to keep my 19 month daughter entertained. Good luck for those who have yet to give birth! Looking forward to meeting you all soon x
  16. Ive contacted lewisham councillors Alex feakes and Philip Peake. Technically it is southwark I believe but essentially given the boundary, what it needs is lewisham and southwark to cooperate on the issue. For all who are concerned about the issue please do contact lewisham and southwark officers as highlighted by the OP so that both councils will look together at the issue.
  17. Indeed, and a lot of people who have their tax etc all done by employers will undoubtably find it harder than someone used to dealing with the tax system. Also, think its hard for people whose circumstances have changed in the current tax year to know definitively if they are not entitled to any cb, e.g if one increases pension contributions or buys more child care vouchers, or got a pay rise to bring total pay to 60k mark. Now I'm sure it would be possible to work to out, but may be quite time consuming. or you could wait for your p60 which will say definitively. But of course you will need to do self assessment and submit in jan next year if you do that... But I would say that definitely make sure children still registered on cb system, And any future children too, and just opt out of payments (if you decide it's easier this way). This is so that the carer continues to build up national insurance credits, meaning that if you don't work for a period of time (until the child is 12 i believe but dont quote me) due to bringing up children that this time out of the workforce won't affect entitlement to state pension.
  18. The crossing in front of Cabrini is very hard to use in rush hour (not necessarily ony during school drop off and pick up times). Reason being is that due to the constant flow of traffic down forest hill rd, there is rarely a gap in the cars which enables one to walk out and cross the road, and of course cars don't need to stop for you. The cars are also starting ti speed up down the hill too at this point, which exacerbates the problem. I have had to walk out where cars are approaching with my hand up to try to get them to slow down so that I can cross the road. cars do seem to speed down the hill to the wood vale traffic lights and all the way to the bottom at the lights by Peckham rye park. Didn't someone recently share some data on traffic incidents which suggested the road is a hot spot?
  19. When we looked into this I found that the situation if you are in the 50-60k bracket was more complex than the hmrc literature made out, it implied if your pay was over 60k you would definitely loose all cb. However, As someone else said, the figure you need to know is your taxable income after pension contribution and any other salary sacrifice money comes off, and also gift aid donations too i believe. If you earn 60k if may be that these items bring you below 60k in which are you are still entitled to some cb although you need to register for self assessment and complete a tax return and pay back any that is over the amount you are entitled to.
  20. Thanks for this - I for one will email lewisham as forest hill road is concerning given recent accidents.
  21. Sorry guys we won't make it this afternOon, my 16 month woken from her nap teething and generally upset, needing lots of tlc, have a good one and catch up with you at another meet up xx
  22. Hi Edek I did my nct classes in east dulwich in July 2011, it was near dulwich hospital. Believe that there are also classes in nunhead. In my opinion good to do nct classes as local as possible to make meeting up with babies easier. Maybe give the nct a ring If you can't see it on their website. Good luck x
  23. Great idea to do multiple gatherings to fit around people's different circumstances. Should prove easier to find times that work when all are on maternity leave hopefully. We can make friday 14th dec at 3pm, will be there with my 15 month yr old daughter. See lots of you then xx
  24. Hi all I'd be keen for a weekend meet up and maybe even evening if I can get Hubbie home to baby sit in time. I work part time so also around Monday and Friday, mornings or mid afternoons as my daughter naps after lunch for a couple of hrs usually. Audrey, I have found the dream genii doesn't seem to be as comfortable this time round! My bump feels completely different. Have you tried one of those wedges that go under the bump? X
