  1. Hi Elisabeth, Sorry nobody has replied. It is all on email now. However tomorrow there will be folk at the Crooked Well again from 10.30am.... Jayne
  2. Mummy Laid an Egg by Babette Cole is also great. I use it as a GCSE biology teaching aid getting students to write science for a younger audience. http://www.amazon.co.uk/Mummy-Laid-Egg-picture-books/dp/0099299119
  3. You girls are mean. It's one thing to disagree with me but to publicly slag me off has made me feel utterly horrible.
  4. I went to the free classes at Dulwich hospital. I find NCT a very self-selecting group. If you can afford the fees, you can join the club. It also ensures everybody in your antenatal class is 'just like you'. Our antenatal class at Dulwich ranged from the over 40, hypnobirthing devotee and husband to the frightened single 17 year old there with her best friend. And we all benefited from sharing our worries and expectations of pregnancy. And what a pleasure! To share something so special with such a diverse group of people.
  5. On Wednesday there is a free class at the centre on chandler way, Peckham. I went a few times and enjoyed it. If you search online to the 'let's go' guides from Southwark council for the Peckham area it will have more details.
  6. Oh Nikki that sounds rubbish. Hope you're all ok. Shout if you need anything and I'll pass things in through the window :)
  7. Hurray for a cinema trip! I'm pretty excited about the film too. It is a shame about the Gardens. Nikki, Ollie is lovely. Such a cutie.
  8. Colleagues, Baby cinema in Peckham. Thursday 5th July. 11.30am. Friends with Kids. ?4.99 including tea and cake. Maybe a bit rough around the edges for you ED lot ;) but a great thrifty bargain.
  9. I am crumpetting! Jo give me a shout on the way past? I am paying for Amos' epic three hour nap this afternoon with a very awake little man with bedtime imminent! A nice day today ladies. Thanks.
  10. I started using Waitrose Baby Bottom Butter as a moisturiser BEFORE I had a child. Amazing and less than ?3. I've neer looked back. It became quite 'the thing' for a while and was always out of stock. Easy to get these days. http://m.guardian.co.uk/lifeandstyle/2011/jan/18/baby-bottom-butter-waitrose-bestseller?cat=lifeandstyle&type=article
  11. Excellent news. I've never been before....but Monday I am IN! Thanks for the tip off about Thursday being cancelled. I'd have been scouring the park in my gym kit looking stupid!
  12. Jenny when I saw you today, I meant to say...you look amazing. I didn't know you were doing weightwatchers.
  13. Overly keen I know, but power pramming is on in Dulwich Park on Thursday at 10am? www.powerpramming.co.uk Anyone fancy it? I think it's a fiver. Jayne
  14. I'll be there. Jane, I can bore you to tears with the virtues of Ocado if you like. Never go shopping.
  15. Last week a lady told me they were calling someone to 'get me' on my way home after I asked her not to bunk the queue at my surgery's baby clinic. Some people threaten violence sadly. On the poo front, I spent a chunk of this afternoon with an old fork cleaning dog muck out of my pram tyres. So thank you for saying something.
  16. Wise people of the Family Room. My son, is 4 months old, a big lad at nearly 18lb and exclusively breastfed. He has a tongue tie which has presented the following two issues.... 1. Tongue Tie clinic were reluctant to cut the tie as BF is going well and he is putting on plenty of weight. 2. My son can only feed for 8/9 minutes at a time as he gets tired and frustrated. During the day we seem to manage with this, although I seem to feed more often than other mums. But during the night my little one is waking up at 10.30pm, 1am, 3am, 5am and then 7am to feed. It's not a 'feeding to sleep' issue as he can self-settle for naps and at bedtime. I can't decide whether it's because he's not getting enough food during the day, whether he can only get enough food to last 2 hours during the night or whether it's just a BF issue that I'll have to live with. I'm not unhappy with the night feeds, and feel refreshed enough with what sleep I get, but I wonder whether my little one needs to sleep better? Are the night feedings causing him to have poor sleep during the night. Would a bottle of formula at 10.30pm help? Does it take longer to digest? Will it upset his stomach? So many questions :) but if anyone has the time and inclination to reply I'd be grateful. Jayne
  17. I second Next, their basic white baby grows wash really well and don't have envelope necks that go all saggy and loose.
  18. I've gone and got myself a Baby Jogger City Select. Bit more money, easy to fold, but I really wanted one where my little fella could face me. Anyway, I love it. Midivydale, I can't go to Crooked Well in the morning as we're making an early start up to the grandparents in Lancs. Have a lovely weekend.
  19. I'm free the 11th only sorry. Was thinking earlier it would be nice to go out for drinks with you ladies.
  20. Maybe some of it is a bit too smart but there's linen trousers and a short sleeve linen shirt. http://www.johnlewis.com/Baby+and+Child/Boyswear/Boys'+Formalwear/Boys'+Formalwear/15516/ProductCategory.aspx
  21. Hi all, Jane suggested I put this link up for you all. http://therectoryhotel.com/ We took Amos here when he was 7 weeks old. They don't bat an eyelid about babies. Our room had a cot with all blankets provided. A baby monitor [given the hotel is small you are in easy range of the restaurant]. But, Amos didn't fancy sleeping up there so we brought him down to dinner in their lovely restaurant [great fancy dinner] to find other babies and toddlers joining for dinner. They provide food for the little ones too. A few couples were dining without kids but we were never made to feel like a problem. Stored all my breast milk in their fridges etc. Breakfast was amazing. Lovely grounds. An outdoor pool. And they own the family friendly pub over the road which has won several awards for its good food. Regular deals on the Mr and Mrs Smith site too. All good basically.
  22. Hello Bellenden Belle, I met your lovely kids at the Wooden Circle with Audrey. I brought an apple cake and your eldest was so polite with her thank you-s. Walking wise. It could be somewhere nice [i have some knowledge of the capital ring that has walks through greenest bits of south London], my husband and I do a bigger walk out of town at the weekends with friends which people could join, or even just deciding to walk the 4/5 miles in to town is better when there's good conversation.
  23. I was very restrained and had two crumpets. Large collection of toppings was very pleasing indeed. And nice to see midivydale. Wine on all evenings surely Jane. I only have one child and it's the first thing I do after he's gone asleep! :)
