  2. In my opinion, Goodrich Road isn't a 'cut through', its a residential road. Temporary barriers to protect schoolchildren by all means, but changing access in this way will result in all sorts of problems. What about access for larger vehicles, deliveries, building works, emergency vehicles? This road isn't wide enough for u-turns to be performed safely for all but the smallest car. Surely if you make a road a 'cul-de-sac' you have to make provision for vehicles to exit as well as enter? Giving the school the responsibility without discussing with residents is barmy. Everyone uses these roads differently and we know the ins and outs of accessing these roads, plus residents have different needs. When the council drastically reduced parking spaces by extending the double yellows on every corner, it increased the number of times the residents have to drive around Dunstans, Crebor and Goodrich roads trying to park. Altering this stretch of Goodrich will add another layer of complication which, in turn, will add to the more pollution and car use. Looking at the plans I think it was a project given to the 5yr olds..."how would you make this road safe for children to walk to the school" "Miss, Miss!! Put big lumps of something hard at each end and then no one can get in!" "Well done Timothy. We'll go with that."
  3. And they were going to tell/mention/discuss with us residents....when?
  4. Oh that's amazing.
  5. Thank you to all the generous people who brought tins and packets and shampoos and biscuits and who made sure that vulnerable people took away enough for a meal or two this weekend! This post is now closed but I will be separately posting where to donate food.... Thank you lovely people!.... https://www.instagram.com/p/B-CrU8ZHjgm/
  6. If any businesses are closing TODAY and have surplus FRUIT, VEG or DRIED GOODS that they would like to donate, please would you consider Peckham Foodcycle and we can arrange to collect it? We are looking to feed a lot of vulnerable people and, as you can imagine, there is a shortage of 'spare' food out there! Please don't respond here but email.... [email protected] Thank you so much. https://www.foodcycle.org.uk/location/peckham-hub/ https://www.instagram.com/peckham_foodcycle/
  7. For now, just asking for donations tomorrow, 10-12 as above,so that we have something to give our guests who normally receive a nutritious cooked meal. Soup, beans, biscuits and crackers. Much appreciated! Thank you.
  8. Dear All, Peckham Foodcycle is having to close due to Covid and needs tins of SOUP, BEANS, BISCUITS AND CRACKERS. If you are able to donate ONLY these items please drop them at All Saints Church, Blenheim Grove, Peckham SE22 0HE on FRIDAY 10-12 and SATURDAY 10-12, ideally in a bag ready to go. These will be given out on Saturday as it is our last session for the time being. Huge thanks.
  9. Albrighton Community Fridge is a fantastic asset to this area. Giving food to anyone in need and never turning someone away should be lauded.
  10. I have a Casper mattress and after 2 years think its still perfect for me. https://casper.com/uk/en/
  11. Thank you Roddy and Dodo1...really appreciate your helpful ideas! Jacqui.
  12. Thanks Renata! I'm discovering a lot of places I wasn't aware of. All very helpful. Jacqui.
  13. Hadn't heard of them so that's really helpful. Will check them out! Thanks, Jacqui.
  14. Hi all. Has anyone done a recent renovation and used a decent bathroom company or visited bathroom showrooms they can recommend? Thinking sort of mid-price range? Appreciate any thoughts! thanks, Jacqui.

Norwood Roofing are extremely reliable and have many positive recommendations on here. They take before and after photos to ensure you don't get ripped off with false work as mentioned in this thread. /forum/read.php?30,1647560,2072670#msg-2072670
  16. This has just happened to me. I definitely did NOT want to replace the whole thing. Went to Dulwich DIY and a '?2 plug on a chain' later....success!!
  17. Yes, got turned away on Tuesday after queuing with a 3 year old. Didn't want to go for a trip to the park with a handbag so just put some cash in my pocket. No drinks for us.
  18. Maybe fill it with fresh food and give it to someone on the streets who could do with a meal? Lots of people around Peckham Rye station for example...on your way to work? Doesn't need to be fancy....could be fruit or a piece of cake.
  19. I rarely use self scanners as I object to the reduction in available jobs. And now overtime it seems.
  20. Talking about 'hyperbolic statements without evidence to support them", wasn't there a MASSIVE Southwark Council poster on the railings outside M+S that claimed.. "FACT. People who walk to the high street spend 40% more than those who drive to the high street"?
  21. So how does it work if there are conflicting views...if one or more vote is for, and one or more against? jimlad48 Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > Someone asked about how many votes counted from > same address. 22. All this so that a few people who live near the station can 'supposedly' park nearer to their homes.....???!!!!
  23. Surely a 'no return within [a certain time period]', as is common on many signs, would ensure that the driver has to move the car? 1921 Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > Hi James > > Can you please find out if the whole day CPZ does > not come into place and it is reduced to 2 hours > as was the majority vote how the council plan to > deal with the problem of people parking and then > paying at a later time.
