Verbal Abuse/Threatening Behaviour on Hillcourt Rd
IlonaM replied to Ronnijade's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
I would also talk to 101/report online to https://www.met.police.uk/ro/report/ocr/how-to-report-a-crime/ re: a public order offence and assault even before you get the specific courier firm details. You can always add details later. I hope you and your brother have not been too shaken up by a really unpleasant experience. -
Apologies for any light nuisance overnight to our neighbours in Underhill Rd (towards Horniman end). We had a new security light fitted yesterday and we are having teething problems. This is in hand and I am trying to get the contractors back asap to adjust the light. Update: the electricians have been back to adjust the light this morning.

Depends how full your home is. Mine used to dislike the legs of the dining room table. I use a Dyson now - very lightweight and charge only lasts 20 minutes, so I can pace myself. Makes for concentrated bursts of cleaning!

I currently have a wireless door bell (Byron) which unfortunately has been setting off one of my neighbour's doorbell (a different make). I think that there is a frequency problem. I would be very grateful for advice on: a) whether it is possible to easily change a wireless doorbell's frequency - There is nothing in the instruction manual I found online and on googling it started getting complicated with advice re wire cutting etc. b) whether a wifi doorbell is a good investment. Presumably it will resolve the frequency problem. Are there any wifi devices that you would reccommend in particular? It is for a ground floor flat.

Some people swear by the various Benecol products. I use Flora Proactiv light spread alongside a healthy diet and my doctor was very surprised by the results. The Mayo Clinic in the US has very good advice on its website (not just for reducing cholestorol) - https://www.mayoclinic.org/diseases-conditions/high-blood-cholesterol/in-depth/reduce-cholesterol/art-20045935 https://www.mayoclinic.org/diseases-conditions/high-blood-cholesterol/in-depth/cholesterol/art-20045192

I use watering globes when I go away (similar to: https://www.gardenista.com/posts/10-easy-pieces-glass-watering-bulbs/). I was able to buy six colourful ones on Querkity for a decent price sometime ago and they work a treat. You can also find them on Amazon and Ebay.

Will buses be running through Lordship Lane on Saturday? I have a visitor hoping to get the 185 from Victoria to Wood Vale stop. -
Southwark Day Centre for Asylum Seekers (SDCAS) often has clients in particular need as well as those they regularly give food parcels to. You could contact the office to see if you could support them. The Co-ordinator Pauline Nandoo or day centre manager Bettina Dreier (Tuesday at Copleston) would be good people to speak to: The main office is staffed on Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Fridays and is based at the Copleston Centre. You can report someone who you like to help to Street Link - https://www.streetlink.org.uk/ 'StreetLink exists to help end rough sleeping by enabling members of the public to connect people sleeping rough with the local services that can support them. If you are concerned about someone you have seen sleeping rough in England or Wales, you can use this website to send an alert to StreetLink. The details you provide are sent to the local authority or outreach service for the area in which you have seen the person, to help them find the individual and connect them to support. We ask you to provide the following information: 1) A specific location for the rough sleeping site. You can do this by using a map to pinpoint the exact location and then providing a written description of the location. 2) Details of the time that the rough sleeper has been seen at the location. 3) Any information about the rough sleeper that will help find them (gender, approximate age, what the person looks like, what they are wearing). You will receive details of the action the local authority normally takes when they are told someone is sleeping rough in their area and an update on what has happened as a result of your alert within 10 working days if you have requested it. If the person needs urgent medical attention or you believe they are under 18 years of age please call 999'

Rogue moped riders operating in this area

Another new tactic in use (reported in the Standard): https://www.standard.co.uk/news/crime/dna-spray-being-used-by-police-in-london-to-tag-and-identify-moped-criminals-a3998971.html Not quite as full-on (although seems to have been used together with the 'tactical contact'), but the police have to get close enough to the moped to spray them. -
My pleasure. It is good to know that there are places available. There seem to be quite a few food banks across the borough. Computers can be very fussy - yesterday, having had no problems accessing a website ever before the browsers (FireFox and Chrome) suddenly decided that they couldn't open any pages on the site! I use it for local information - am hoping they are feeling better today!
