And here's the fudge :) The UK expects (but it can expect all it wants if the EU doesn't listen) "The UK is clear that the temporary customs arrangement, should it be needed, should be time limited, and that it will be only in place until the future customs arrangement can be introduced. The UK is clear that the future customs arrangement needs to deliver on the commitments made in relation to Northern Ireland. The UK expects the future arrangement to be in place by the end of December 2021 at the latest. There are a range of options for how a time limit could be delivered, which the UK will propose and discuss with the EU."

    VISA Outage

My card never really recovered - now doesn't like paying for more than 3 pints in a row in a pub (whilst performing OK in coffee shops, buses etc.) My bank wouldn't do that would they :)

then if I remember used to describe the same guys that popped up in Question time as audience members week after week during the 2017 election campaign (many assumed they were paid stooges) - "Wall of Gammon" - the author since says he didn't want it to become a meme and it was just a joke Note he's a children's author - so it is probably childish

First used by Charles Dickens (although some dispute this). https://www.newstatesman.com/politics/staggers/2018/05/turns-out-charles-dickens-invented-concept-gammon-1838
  13. Anyway as Laura Kuenssberg tweeted "I think the technical term for what is happening to (Chris) Grayling in the Commons right now is a shoeing"

  15. Govia Thameslink have now introduced an amended timetable This means some trains (like the 9:04 from Peckham Rye to Luton) have just disappeared ... magically.. gone.

They seem to want to be involved in politics for some reason - there was an issue with undercover officers - but why are they getting involved (I may be missing something). I can't help think of the judges being called 'enemies of the people' though when people talk about respecting our legal system.
  17. back in the day people used to collect them (make a pin hole and blow out the contents). Sure it was very frowned upon. I don't know why I remember that. edit: strike frowned upon and put illegal even then - https://www.rspb.org.uk/birds-and-wildlife/advice/wildlife-and-the-law/wild-bird-crime/egg-collecting/

Probably as the guy was not in danger any more - would be tempted to go for 999 though. Police seem to have no capacity left at all unless there's evidence to identify (so a reasonable chance of a conviction)

Yes, but the perception is a British thing I think as Swansea boys aren't angels.

Two boys fighting in the road outside the Grapes in Borough on Saturday for no obvious reason. A European guy starts lecturing them "This wouldn't happen in any country but yours". Obviously not true but sort of summed up what everybody else thinks of us.
  24. Haven't looked at the Rye - Surely it'll recover in a month ?
  25. Of course no government will admit it's policies kill people - would be political suicide..
