Someone managed to take 4500 out of mine at a bank in Islington - over the counter last year a month after I had my cards stolen and after all were cancelled. Refunded of course (and I'm told now they refund whatever happens these days so no-one should worry) but how did they do it - bank didn't tell me LOL. Edit: and even scarier some guy turned up at my flat pretending he needed my signature for a letter which should just have been posted through - sure it was linked.
  3. After two days of more or less not too bad by Govia Thameslink they seem to have had a cancelathon today.

I'm not complaining about the event - just the politeness of the staff - attendees won't like it either if you have bullying bouncers throwing their weight around (OK so far we only have the original post alleging that - but if it becomes a recurring theme there's an issue)_
  5. Get a big Dog that'll sort it.

Even with all this - no excuse for the security staff not to be polite and especially not threatening to local residents (can't stand that sort of 80s bouncer tactics)
  7. pre-emptive complaint added to thisisgala.co.uk - I've linked to this thread so any complaints and they have no excuse

Working near Lincolns Inn Fields it's a lovely walk (or run). Good to hear the rats obeyed the injunction.

    Brexit View

I listened to Mark Zuckerberg at the EU this morning. A really strange format where everybody asks questions then Zuckerberg answers some of them then ending up a bit chaotic - but in a way I liked it - somehow democratic. Nigel Farage managed to jump in (note that he wouldn't get a say in a UK version as it would be the committee). He claims because of his political persuasion his footprint has fallen by 25% and he knows right wingers who have had there accounts cancelled. Zuckerberg said he never limits or cancels accounts based on political persuasion ever. http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/technology-44210800 I guess as soon as Zuckeberg left the building he phoned Facebook to tell them to mark Farage's account down another notch :)
  10. There's a new Cambridge to Maidstone East route planned to start December 2019 and that will fill the gap so there's a train every 10 minutes apparently (at the moment it's 20 mins then 10 mins then 20 with only half going past Blackfriars).
  11. Govia managed to say they were concerned with moving trains around the network not about what is inside the trains. The passengers being what was inside the trains weren't happy at all with that statement. The comparison between train networks and computer networks strikes me :)
  12. http://www.stadiumguide.com/luzhniki/ so ironic that we have a special expensive trainer for the old Central Lenin Stadium https://www.adidas.co.uk/samba-classic-og-shoes/CQ2216.html So that has to be the 1980 Olympics (which the USA boycotted)
  13. Charles strikes me as someone who just might try and interfere a bit in the government (or maybe I'm thinking of the original House of Cards http://house-of-cards.wikia.com/wiki/The_King ). That will be interesting whenever it occurs (which might still be a while).

I always use President Balls on twitter :) and first lady Yvette Cooper.

  16. I reckon if I brought it and wore it it wouldn't go down well at all. I love that German one with the stripes (best international shirt ever) but ... I'll stick with a Welsh version during the World Cup :)
  17. So does some villain then pay for used letters by the ton or some such - you do suspect that. I've got loads of old bank statements etc.- time to shred - in my flat burnings not an option.

You'd have been better going to London Bridge via Platform 2 (if it's Peckham Rye). Victoria is horrible to change. I just caught the 63 bus today - not that I prophesied doom :)
  19. There is worse than the ?16 charge out there - I see it increasing if anything to be honest. As it is it's probably fair. I save up - until I have a few items.
  20. Can't we have a monarchy AND an executive president who we elect. I know no-one else does but we can be first :)

That was my inability to read a timetable I think :) Sorry, Going through the London Bridge options - and it does help because those through trains will be packed I think.

Harry's actually not a bad person considering (and he admits he's had problems)IMHO Taking out the royalty I'd have her down as his sort (independent)
  23. Most boroughs charge now - some much more than Southwark. It was free I agree. http://www.itv.com/news/london/2017-02-16/borough-by-borough-guide-of-getting-rid-of-bulky-waste/
  24. I saw the shutters damaged - wondered what happened. It's a while since a someone took "pot shots" around here - hope it's a while until it happens again. https://www.southwarknews.co.uk/news/investigation-in-peckham-after-shots-fired/
  25. She's going to walk up the aisle half on her own, half with Prince Charles. Then no-one will give her away.
