  1. Lets go for mine; Crouch End (scary in its way but a mate liked it), Canary Wharf (Macho), Barnet (Some nice pubs but its not the south). The worst Gentrification has to be Elephant Park - rather than a gradual gentrification that was a big bang.
  2. Really strange interview where seemed full of beans and sniffed consistently
  3. I suppose if you know your customer base you know which flags to put up and which to skip.
  4. I can't work out what he means below. ?Can you look me in the eye and tell me you haven?t lied in your political career?? asked interviewer Paul Brand. Johnson responded: ?Absolutely not. Absolutely not? ? apparently meaning he can look Brand in the eye and say he ?absolutely? has not lied.

I saw the documentary "The Spiders Web" - exposed the City - its not all ceremonial.
  6. They are talking about extending the 148 to cover Peckham->Camberwell I notice after reading the whole thread .

No it isnt, catch yourself on. Its just > another bus that hardly anyone outside of East > Dulwich really cares about. Once you are a few > stops up the road to Peckham, there are loads of > other buses going the same way you can jump on, > which is probably exactly why its getting canned. Actually 12 goes via Camberwell whilst the 63s, 78s and 343s don't.
  8. I liked parts of the jubilee but didn't spend the weekend watching it - I went out, I played Just Cause 4 on PS4. I also completed watching the Boys first three episodes - poor Timmy.

Fair enough - I guess a legal term and not meaning until the world ends :)
  10. Jeremy Hunt I haven't even used the abusive word from when he ran the NHS :)
  11. In Perpetuity is actually a long time. Like my Sky contract is 18months and that seems long.

Maybe but possibly not impossible. We had an issue with VISA once (a few years back now) but that was a temporary glitch and Mastercard worked. If the banks are in permanent trouble than bank notes may not be worth much either as they are just a promise on a piece of paper.
  13. I was reading about e=mc2 and what units you have to use for it to work If c is in feet per second, e becomes foot-pounds (A unit of work equal to the work or energy needed to lift a one-pound weight a distance of one foot against the force of the Earth's gravity) and m is in slugs (1 foot pound accelerates one slug at 1 ft/s?).
  14. Are you in Web Layout mode View Menu - near the left you can switch between "Print Layout" and "Web Layout"
  15. Britcoin - No https://www.bankofengland.co.uk/research/digital-currencies
  16. Can the government do anything anyway - they say they will support cash but have not done anything to change the current trend. Has the train already left the station ?
  17. Wow and we are saying goodbye to Long Wave - that's a memory of my youth. 10 years ago the Guardian claimed only 10 valves were left in the world and now obviously the last one has blown. https://www.theguardian.com/media/2011/oct/09/bbc-radio4-long-wave-goodbye
  18. They are also merging BBC News and BBC World Service I think - BBC World Service was a pretty famous name

  23. He used to talk a lot about this when he was PM https://diginomica.com/look-i-could-be-wrong-about-tony-blair-makes-case-digital-id-scheme-again-post-covid-19-world http://migreurop.org/article1150.html https://www.nbcnews.com/id/wbna6332417 there's a lot over the years
  24. Blair is still obsessed with digital ID "As an example of the kind of radical policy he would like to see, Blair suggests tackling concerns about illegal immigration by introducing biometric ID as a precondition for accessing work and public services." https://www.theguardian.com/politics/2022/may/13/tony-blair-tells-keir-starmer-to-drop-woke-politics-and-focus-on-economy-labour
