The takeout punches are like a punch to the throat - which can get you a manslaughter charge So no - I prefer to talk my way out - the stress of a court case wouldn't be worth my dodgy old iPhone6 and a few pounds. Edit: I have heard that if you hurt these bullies - the first thing they do is run to the police saying you (the victim) brutalized them.

People did say that when the minimum wage was introduced back in the 90s - and it turned out the bankers brought the economy to it's knees.
  16. The government didn't help when it called the national minimum wage the national living wage (it now uses both I think) whilst the group that recommends living wage (and was recognized as doing so) has a different figure. Maybe it's all just meant to confuse

  18. I just stick in whatever I've got in the fridge if I'm throwing something together. If I had a choice I'd use red wine :)
  19. Listened to the guy who got removed from the plane by US customs on Sky News today. He had a classic South West Wales / Swansea accent - I wonder whether the US Officers had no idea what accent it was as it's very obviously different.

What I did notice about my Karate teacher was he was always at war with both the gangs in his neighborhood and the police in his neighborhood (never mind the rest). I used to think - why don't you do diplomacy :) but it really wasn't in his nature.

I'll distract too - excuse me officer, oh boys I've got a meeting got to go (normalise the situation) - and then off like the wind. If they just punch first as they did to the Op - I don't see a way out :(

My Karate instructor said hit the biggest one so hard the rest run. I just use my mouth .. and not to bite - it's my only defense :) I will say if you listen to rap - it talks about gang fights and drugs and shooting but never ever about stealing an iphone from a boy wheeling his bike home - it's not glamorous and it's not something that will turn the head of older boys.

Mugging is inherently cowardly IMHO, it needs the same sort of stigma as sex crime - with the criminals - not as bad of course but it's down there.
  25. It is more likely intimidation than a real threat (like the guys who spit in your direction (but on the floor) sometimes - and I do notice that as I hate spitting). But could be a practice run :(
