  1. Hmmm not been a problem at all. I used the pram with my daughter from about 18 mths and she was fine, then have used from birth with my son and he has been really happy. Is now 10 mths and doesn't have a prob with the angle. There is a bar you put across the front (like the P&T) which he uses to pull himself forward a bit if he can't see enough (he is quite nosy though...) I guess the only prob would be if the older one was needing to sleep in the top seat - although not sure but think they may have a reclining option available now. I got mine in NZ (through NZ ebay and had someone bring it over) but there was a UK supplier at one point. If anyone is interested probably worth giving them a call in NZ and they will fill in the details. I really like it, is lightweight, super easy to push, really good to load up (and I do...). A friend described it as the land rover version of phil and teds. A pretty straight forward piece of kit really.
  2. We have one of the Adventure buggies everests that Molly is talking about. Def recommend - very comfy to push even with two in. Only downside is not v small to fold down not a chuck in the car and go type more of a semi dismantle... I use the Maclaren for out and about with the car and the abc for walking any distance. It almost eliminated the grizzly not wanting to walk not wanting to stand on the buggy board stage and now we just save the seat for desperate situations (or more often my shopping very handy...). The underneath basket is really roomy and you don't lose the basket as a footwell like the P and T which is quite handy.
  3. I second the hot steam vapouriser - they are miracle workers. We got one for my daughter when she was a baby with broncialitis and have been using it regularly ever since. Google Vicks hot steam vapouriser and stockists come up.
  4. Pretty traditional deliver also just phone through yr order.
  5. What was the resort like in Cuba and who did you book through? Did you get out and about? The idea sounds heavenly....
  6. Hi All, Not to debate the pros and cons but just wondered if anyone had had their children vaccinated and how it went - any after effects etc Thanks.
  7. We were looking at villa's as the prices are really reasonable for a 3 bed with properly (i.e not just solar) heated pool.
  8. We were just looking into this and basically Lanzarote looked like the most likely candidate. The temps are supposed to be between 17 and 22 so not boiling but warmer than here. Swimmable in a heated pool I would guess but not really sunbathing. We couldn't find much else around that isn't long haul....
  9. Carlucio's is always a winner - the waiters are invariably very patient...
  10. We have the Britax First class SI seat. It starts off backwards and then turns. My (off the growth chart) 9 mth old baby is happily reversed in there still. We recently took it on hols with us and had it on the plane also so not too heavy (useful also as a seat for older child whilst sifting around airport...) Have very happy with it. Just googled it and available from ?89 ish
  11. I would definately recommend doing it now rather than later if you are going to do it. I had my daughters done at 2.5yrs as we moved from a borough that didn't do it and it was the most traumatic injection out of all of them as she was aware of what was going on and it seemed to hurt quite a bit. (Also the talking i.e Ow Mummy that hurts, what is she doing etc etc was v traumatic for me, more so than for her I think actually) It seemed to be worse than the boosters etc. My son didn't even cry when he had his done at 9 months which was much more like it!
  12. and god forbid, pubs...
  13. Good grief... children in a library...I didn't know this sort of thing still went on...
  14. Definately sounds like night terrors. My daughter went through them, truly blood curdling screams (like head stuck in cot or suchlike) causing olympic style dashes to bedroom but as above she wasn't even awake most times. Apart from heart palpitations on my part no ill effects and it passed relatively quickly. Good luck, am sure it will pass soon!
  15. My daughter was very much the same - used to just about be in tears of frustration trying to get her to eat something other than jarred poridge or one type of jarred food. That little mouth clamped shut..hmmm obviously still a bit peeved about it after 3 yrs...;-) Maybe try some finger foods - well cooked pasta/scrambled eggs/avocado/sweet potato chips (baked) etc and maybe she will feed herself a bit. They often start to get a bit grumpy about being feed around 9/10 mths. Agree with Pickle - they won't starve themselves. (But it is hugely frustrating at the time) Good luck!
  16. That was me. We have one of these: http://www.gobubbago.com.au/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=34&products_id=73 however I looked at the site and it directs you to the above so not sure if they have sold on. The site below has the nz contact details on so it may well be worth giving them a call... http://www.nzs.com/site-profile/abcbuggy.co.nz/ This all sounds v complicated but they did have a UK supplier. Has been a brilliant pram. Used for my daughter as a single then added the top seat with no.2. Is really comfy to push with both and slightly narrower than the p + t so fits through all doors/shops etc. It has a high brake at the back so really easy to walk with if you are tall. Is a bit of a pain to fold though, we end up taking a wheel off most times to get it in the car. But not too much drama. Our walk to nursery is around 20/25 mins child speed which is just slightly to far for a 3yr old so has saved many dramas just being able to pop her on top which she loves. Added benefit now is that I put my 8mth old up there when we are in the park and he feels part of the action and much more inclined to be happy in the pram for longer...
  17. Thanks for the replies. Have talked to Bob Brown, and he should be able to sort it out.
  18. I have actually recieved a couple of parcels now so am (mildly) hopeful that the final two will arrive.... Most recent one received was sent 19th Sept.
  19. Has anyone had their phone lines moved around in the house. We need someone to feed the lines through under the floorboards etc. Thanks.
  20. Thanks very much for the quick reply!
  21. Which end of Melbourne are they proposing? And in what positions? We haven't received any info on this.
  22. Not really a quick fix but I think the saying firmly no and putting them down/away from you (whenever practical) does pay dividends eventually (relatively short period of time really).... Also learning to duck away quickly is quite handy ;-)
  23. How about expressing and trying a bottle? My son weaned himself at between 6 and 7 months. Could not for love or money (or darkened rooms/ muzzling 3 yr old/ shutting cat out of room etc etc) get him to feed - worse he had teeth so would just bite me. However he would take a bottle. Just too nosy I think, not one to be knowingly left out.... He was eating 3 meals by then so not sure if that changes things. He has gone back to sleeping through the night also (mostly). Good luck!
  24. We used the cossato On the move (link to mothercare below) for my daughter and then went onto a tripp trapp when she was about 14 months. The cossato one was really slimline (used to slot in beside the fridge) and was really handy if you were going to friends as could chuck in the car easily. Was robust enough so they weren't unstable but folded down brilliantly. That said if you can fit the tripp trapp would go for it as you get years of use out of them. http://www.mothercare.com/Cosatto-Move-highchair-Fruits-Forest/dp/B001GDB8OC/sr=1-18/qid=1251380807/ref=sr_1_18/276-4054467-8086739?_encoding=UTF8&m=A2LBKNDJ2KZUGQ&n=42862041&mcb=core
  25. I would get one of the moulded plastic ones. I had one of the sling ones the first time round but have used a moulded one this time. I much prefer the plastic one - doesn't add to the washing pile (crucial in my book) it keeps them in place and they can use for longer . I used a bath and stand system for the first couple of months though so am presuming you can use the moulded one from birth - can't see why not. Although if you are going to be flying anywhere the sling ones do pack down so you can take with you...
