Potager?! anyone know if / when its opening?!
LondonMix replied to CJMAHER's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
Apparently! -
That's truly gruesome. Of course I feel sorry for the cats (being a cat owner) but more worryingly, isn't that one of the early signs someone is a psychopath? Quite frightening that someone capable of that is living nearby.

You've said SpaceNK was coming to LL numerous times Louisa! You are the girl that cried beauty boutique :)

October 2016? -
Yes, I reckon about 25% of people in most Western countries- the US, France, the UK hold some pretty hard right / xenophobic views. Le Pen, Trump etc do have support. My only comfort is that its not enough support to actually win in the US.

Okay, because you think the police don't care about crime in poor areas (again, your assumption) from there you extrapolate that the areas have become so radicalized that the police won't go there? Is that the argument? Where in London are these terrorist radicalized areas that are no go areas for the police? On a more positive note: Bessemer Granges value add score of 102.7 Goodrich value add score of 102.5 Both schools are in the top 5% nationally as concerns the progress pupils are making between KS1 and KS2!
-
Goose Green's value add score is 97.8 which indicates that children made less progress than average compared to pupils with a similar starting point at KS1. Essentially, those scores don't reflect a low performing intake but below average teaching... A 97.8 value add score puts the school in the bottom 5% of schools nationally regarding pupil progress between KS1 and KS2. This, more than the headline score, is what is most concerning (to me). http://www.education.gov.uk/schools/performance/archive/primary_04/p3.shtml

Yes, of course. maxxi Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > LondonMix Wrote: > -------------------------------------------------- > ----- > > That was about Trump not Grok! > > Yes. Yes I know. > > *sigh*

That was about Trump not Grok!
-
Grok-- what you are referring to (rightly or wrongly) would be police / social indifference. We can debate if that's true but its not at all the same thing as suggesting the police can't go there because its too dangerous due to Islamic radicalisation to step foot in those neighbourhoods. There is a big difference between the two notions.

You believe there are places so radicalised by terrorism in London the police won't go there? And that when the Met police, the mayor and the PM all said that isn't true after Trump's statement they were all lying? And you believe that while no one can name where these places are (including Katie Hopkins when questioned) that they exist? And the fact that there was a weed farm above Threshers most people were unaware of proves that no go areas exist even though no one can name them? Is that the gist of what you are saying? I think Boris is savvy and I think his persona is an act- he definitely is 'playing' the lovable clown rather than actually being a buffoon. However, for me he's far less dangerous and not particularly mean-spirited which is a big difference.

Well, I can kind of see why the OP doesn't get invited to the parties...
-
He's not ignorant, he's manipulative. He knowingly says things that are wildly factually incorrect (not just about immigrants and Muslims) to generate press coverage to enhance his poll standing. He's savvy and cynical and dangerous. The man mocks people with physical disabilities who disagree with him. He's stated that prisoners of war shouldn't be considered war heroes because they were captured (again because someone disagreed with him). He's the lowest of low.

Forest Hill Road Practice - in Meltdown ?
LondonMix replied to George Orwell's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
It took me about 30 minutes to get through today at 10:30am. It is something they should address if possible. -
HSBC has an online tool that can help you see this as well. So of course it can be worked out but perhaps your bank doesn't provide the reps with such a tool...

Fairlawn is one of the best schools in the country so yes it does! All the local schools have done well though. Heber, Dog Kennel Hill, Goodrich, Bessemer, Dulwich Hamlet and others performed above both the national average and the average for the LA. Bessemer Grange and Goodrich also had very high value add scores (higher than Fairlawn), suggesting pupils are making more than expected progress based on their starting ability!

Forest Hill Road Practice - in Meltdown ?

They have released more appointments today (many slots available as next week). My guess is this thread has had some impact on releasing sufficient spaces. -
Exactly (and I say this as someone who isn't a landlord). Anyhow, rents in London are high so there is a need for rental property. Without buy to let investors, buying a property might be cheaper but renting one would be more expensive due to reduced supply of flats for rent. Every renter isn't a frustrated person who wants to buy. I suppose the need of buyers is more politically important than renters at the moment. I couldn't agree with you more. The petitions I get via Change.org are terrible. ???? I agree with what happened to house prices- dramatic fall in the summer of 2008 that bottomed out in 2009 and slowly recovered value until 2012. After that, the area saw double digit growth for a couple of years. I started looking for a house near the end of 2012 and bought in 2013 (sold my flat in early 2013 which I had bought in 2007, but originally had valued in 2012 when we first started thinking of moving). Anyhow, the point is prices can definitely go down. I think the drop had more to do with a lack of mortgage availability. Interest rates have helped support the recovery but people are borrowing a similar multiple of their incomes as before so low interest rates aren't the reason why prices have gone up as much as they have.

bobbsy Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > I didn't notice a 25% plunge in 2008? Estate agents at the time said the market had fallen by 20%-- my neighbors had to move the New Zealand as a family member was ill and had to rent out their flat instead of selling it because they were upside down on their mortgage. By 2012 things were roughly back to 2007 levels. Then the market soared for the next two years.

ESPH for physio. They've helped me with my slipped disc.

Every time I've gone to Brixton market, the wait has been more than an hour so I've never actually tried them. Maybe now I'll get a taste :)
