I drove along here this morning behind a double decker bus. It certainly wasn't doing 20mph and went through the speed camera doing 30mph. They obviously seem to think the speed cameras aren't set to 20.

My speil also says that requesting a > follow up GP appointment to check out the allergy > cause would have been perfectly appropriate. Cedges, that would be all very well if the appointment system worked but it doesn't. As a patient, you phone up for an on the day appointment as you yourself feel very unwell. Let's say it's not urgent, urgent but you are still very unwell. You are triaged and assessed as not needing an on the day appointment, fair enough. But then you're told that there are no bookable appointments for 2 weeks (if you're lucky) so to phone back in the morning. Well, if my symptoms were triaged today as non urgent, it won't be triaged any differently by tomorrow! Waiting two weeks is far, far too long, going to A&E is ridiculous as they are already massively under strain from increased patient numbers and as too is SELDOC. Having been a patient at other London GP's over the past years and never encountered problems to this degree, surely it says something about the way it is being run? Surely, the number of unhappy patients and complaints being made to NHS England demonstrates that this surgery is failing in its care of patients?

I agree. Had an ice cream there on Saturday - it was their own flavour and was made with Mascarpone and was utterly delicious.

They had to take them out though as they were multiplying too much!

Re: East Dulwich councillor - how can I help? Posted by James Barber June 01, 07:52PM This weekend lots of local streets are joining in and celebrating the Big Lunch with neighbours. it means these streets will be closed to through traffic. So please be patient and leave a little more time if your driving or cycling around this coming weekend. Saturday 6 June: Melbourne Grove (East Dulwich Grove-Jarvis Road) 3-6pm Sunday 7 June: Arnott Road 10am-7pm, Archduke Road 12-7pm, Ardbeg Road 10am-5pm, Bellenden Road 12-6pm, Colby Road 9am-9pm, Desenfans Road 11am-9pm, Elsie Road 12-9pm, Friern Road 10am-6pm, Goodrich Road 1-5pm, Gowlett Road 11.30am-7pm, Jasper Road 12-8pm, Keston Road 12-9pm, Nutbrook Street 11am-5pm, Stuart Road 11am-8pm, Tarbert Road 10am-7pm. If any of the organisers have any problems they need help with please let me know. Cllr Rosie Shimell and I have helped sort lots of problems with closing streets for community events over the years. My favourite when I led the closure of The Cut on a Friday and even managed to get Ken Livingstone on a cycle - admittedly one built for 7 people. I'm hoping one day some neighbours will agree to have something like the Park Street in Bristol waters slide[www.lukejerram.com] but perhaps I;m getting a little ahead my self. Have fun everybody. -------------------- Regards [email protected] 07900 227366 Liberal Democrat Councillor for East Dulwich Ward Lib Dem Parliamentary candidate for Dulwich & West Norwood Skype cllrjamesbarber [www.jamesbarber.org.uk] [twitter.com]

Underhill Road CLOSURE 11 May - 6 July Thames Water works
SebsC replied to James Barber's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
Letter through the door from Thames Water. Starting Monday 8th June til the end of June. St.Aidans Road will become a one-way street from Underhill Road and local diversion signs will be in place. The P13 bus route will be diverted along Lordship Lane in both directions and will not go down Underhill or Whatley Road whilst the road is closed. -
Thanks everyone. Certainly easier than the TfL suggested!

Hi there! Been on the TFL journey planner and it's recommending a route which takes 1h 17mins and involves 4 transport changes! Surely there must be a simpler route? Can anyone help?

I stayed here.... http://www.elveyfarm.co.uk/dog-friendly/ Really lovely place, surrounded by perfect countryside for dog walking, gorgeous rooms, lovely food and owners friendly and welcoming. Not that far from London so not travelling for hours - dogs very welcome. Definitely recommend.

As others said, I feel they should have taken inspiration from Brockwell Park playground that have utilised every inch of the space in exciting and different ways. Dulwich Park has so much to offer and yet the playground is lacklustre and uninspiring. They had so much space to really make something exciting and original and yet they have used so little of the available space and come up with something disappointing. Same with the playground in Peckham Rye. Do they not consult with parents or users of the playground as to what they want before re-designs?

former East Dulwich councillor - how can I help?
SebsC replied to James Barber's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
Hi James. Wondering if you could point me in the right direction as to who to raise this with. On upland road, there is a house up for sale which seems to be having quite a bit of work to it. It is a house which is right next to the Goodrich school crossing (the part where the road has been narrowed to allow only a one directional flow of traffic at a time to allow children to cross safely). A sign appeared a week or so ago saying the pavement would be closed for a length of 3 days and listed the dates. As it was, the work only started after these dates and nearly a week on, that section of pavement is still closed. They have rubbed the dates off the sign but not put anything else up. They have had a drop kerb fitted to allow for off road parking. It means that those walking on this side of the road can not access the school crossing point as it is all blocked off. Children are having to either cross before this where there is no crossing or are forced to walk along the road to access the crossing. Either way is very dangerous. Also, I wonder if having a driveway access right next to the crossing is the best idea? Your thoughts/guidance in who to raise this with would be appreciated. Many thanks. -

Sorry but I'm struggling to picture the diversion! Is it possible to show on a map what the diversion route will be and where exactly on Underhill the closure will be? Many thanks! -

Went today with my nearly 4 year old and we both loved it. Really well done, clever adaptation, beautiful story. Thoroughly recommend. -

I'm not sure if this is the same website as previously posted but I used this one to look at catchment areas during the application process. You put in your postcode and it shows a map with all your local schools and their catchment areas based on last year I think..... www.findaschool.info

That fancy fish and chip place, next to the chicken shop
SebsC replied to tetris's topic in The Lounge
We went to the Sea Cow for dinner on Thursday. Our previous experiences have found the fish lovely and fresh but the chips lacking. This time, the chips were lacking and the fish was small, dry and overlooked. In particular, my sons goujons were inedible. They were rock solid with overcooked breadcrumbs on the outside and dry fish on the inside. I asked for the chips to be crispy but they were as pale as usual. The service by the young, uninterested waitress was bordering on rude. It calls itself a fish and chip shop but is failing on both now. They've clearly spent some money recently on the decor and new chairs and tables when clearly what is not working is the food. You need to fix that first and foremost. Sorry, but for us, that will be our last visit. -

Recommendations for a good osteopath for little one
SebsC replied to JoRoFoMo's topic in The Family Room Discussion
I can also recommend Lizzy. She's a paediatric trained osteopath and she was brilliant with my son when he was little and suffered from reflux. I also got little help from the gp - we tried all the different reflux milk formulas with little success. Lizzy recommended trying goats milk formula which I did straight away and the results were instantaneous. Definitely get an appointment with her.
