A turtle in the Peckham Rye lake. > Two days ago There used to be quite a few in there some years back. Apparently people who owned them had dumped them in the pond and they had multiplied. They had to take them out though as they were multiplying too much!
  2. Another glorious massage by Stephen. I've been once before and was so impressed that I booked another! I had the Ayurvedic Deep Tissue massage today and it was wonderful. It's in his new premises in Crawthew Grove, so really convenient for a wander round the shops on LL all topped off with the most relaxing yet effective massage I've had! I have lots of problems with my back and hips yet Stephen seemed to work his magic again and I left feeling supple, relaxed and revitalised. I would definitely recommend Stephen as by far the best around here for a long way.
  3. I just managed to register myself and my son without any problems.
  4. Re: East Dulwich councillor - how can I help? Posted by James Barber June 01, 07:52PM This weekend lots of local streets are joining in and celebrating the Big Lunch with neighbours. it means these streets will be closed to through traffic. So please be patient and leave a little more time if your driving or cycling around this coming weekend. Saturday 6 June: Melbourne Grove (East Dulwich Grove-Jarvis Road) 3-6pm Sunday 7 June: Arnott Road 10am-7pm, Archduke Road 12-7pm, Ardbeg Road 10am-5pm, Bellenden Road 12-6pm, Colby Road 9am-9pm, Desenfans Road 11am-9pm, Elsie Road 12-9pm, Friern Road 10am-6pm, Goodrich Road 1-5pm, Gowlett Road 11.30am-7pm, Jasper Road 12-8pm, Keston Road 12-9pm, Nutbrook Street 11am-5pm, Stuart Road 11am-8pm, Tarbert Road 10am-7pm. If any of the organisers have any problems they need help with please let me know. Cllr Rosie Shimell and I have helped sort lots of problems with closing streets for community events over the years. My favourite when I led the closure of The Cut on a Friday and even managed to get Ken Livingstone on a cycle - admittedly one built for 7 people. I'm hoping one day some neighbours will agree to have something like the Park Street in Bristol waters slide[www.lukejerram.com] but perhaps I;m getting a little ahead my self. Have fun everybody. -------------------- Regards [email protected] 07900 227366 Liberal Democrat Councillor for East Dulwich Ward Lib Dem Parliamentary candidate for Dulwich & West Norwood Skype cllrjamesbarber [www.jamesbarber.org.uk] [twitter.com]
  5. Hi there. We need someone to come and remove a large Hazlenut stump with very deep roots from our garden. It's holding up some works we are having done so we would like it done sooner rather than later. The company we contacted can not come until July, which is too late for us. Any recommendations or anyone who can do this sooner? Many thanks!
  6. Letter through the door from Thames Water. Starting Monday 8th June til the end of June. St.Aidans Road will become a one-way street from Underhill Road and local diversion signs will be in place. The P13 bus route will be diverted along Lordship Lane in both directions and will not go down Underhill or Whatley Road whilst the road is closed.
  7. Their website says they are re-opening tomorrow at 5pm. Maybe call them to check? 0208 693 5666
  8. Thanks everyone. Certainly easier than the TfL suggested!
  9. Hi there! Been on the TFL journey planner and it's recommending a route which takes 1h 17mins and involves 4 transport changes! Surely there must be a simpler route? Can anyone help?
  10. I stayed here.... http://www.elveyfarm.co.uk/dog-friendly/ Really lovely place, surrounded by perfect countryside for dog walking, gorgeous rooms, lovely food and owners friendly and welcoming. Not that far from London so not travelling for hours - dogs very welcome. Definitely recommend.
  11. I can recommend Jane too. We used her for our VERY energetic dog and she was great. Trustworthy, reliable and great with animals!
  12. As others said, I feel they should have taken inspiration from Brockwell Park playground that have utilised every inch of the space in exciting and different ways. Dulwich Park has so much to offer and yet the playground is lacklustre and uninspiring. They had so much space to really make something exciting and original and yet they have used so little of the available space and come up with something disappointing. Same with the playground in Peckham Rye. Do they not consult with parents or users of the playground as to what they want before re-designs?
  13. Second Lizzie lomax - brilliant with my son when he suffered from reflux.
  14. Hi James. Wondering if you could point me in the right direction as to who to raise this with. On upland road, there is a house up for sale which seems to be having quite a bit of work to it. It is a house which is right next to the Goodrich school crossing (the part where the road has been narrowed to allow only a one directional flow of traffic at a time to allow children to cross safely). A sign appeared a week or so ago saying the pavement would be closed for a length of 3 days and listed the dates. As it was, the work only started after these dates and nearly a week on, that section of pavement is still closed. They have rubbed the dates off the sign but not put anything else up. They have had a drop kerb fitted to allow for off road parking. It means that those walking on this side of the road can not access the school crossing point as it is all blocked off. Children are having to either cross before this where there is no crossing or are forced to walk along the road to access the crossing. Either way is very dangerous. Also, I wonder if having a driveway access right next to the crossing is the best idea? Your thoughts/guidance in who to raise this with would be appreciated. Many thanks.

  16. This is the guy to go to.... http://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/forum/read.php?30,1267036,page=5 He does all appliances - dishwashers, cookers, washing machines. He came and did our cooker some time ago. Polite, friendly, quick and reasonable prices and has loads and loads of recommendations on here.

What's the best way of getting there using public transport? I looked at TFL journey planner but just wondered if anyone who has done it found an easy way? Thanks!
  18. Sorry but I'm struggling to picture the diversion! Is it possible to show on a map what the diversion route will be and where exactly on Underhill the closure will be? Many thanks!
  19. Hi there. Can anyone recommend a company or themselves to come and have a look at our garden. We have a very large garden with a lot of shrubs, plants and trees. It has not been well maintained - whoops - and as such is quite overgrown and wild in places! We need a team to come in and cut back/cut down/clear a lot of it for us and give us some advice/plans for what we could do with certain areas to make it a bit more maintenance friendly - e.g pave/gravel some areas etc. Please note, the size of the garden means this would not suit a one man show. Many thanks.
  20. Hi. Does anyone know if you can turn up and buy a ticket just before a movie or is it advisable to purchase tickets in advance? Thanks!
  21. I would recommend Christian at Netquest. Netquest Consulting Ltd. 83 Pellatt Road London SE22 9JD Tel:0871 288 2613 Fax:0870 706 3111 I used him for my smashed ipad screen. Far cheaper and quicker than apple. New screen still going strong.
  22. Went today with my nearly 4 year old and we both loved it. Really well done, clever adaptation, beautiful story. Thoroughly recommend.
  23. Found in goose green playground this p.m. Dark blue with white spots. It has a girls name inside so PM me the name and I can get it back to you.
