  1. Don't expect an answer to this anytime soon. Come back after 6 rejections from the council and a 90 page thread full of objections and we might be in a better position to judge how it's all coming along. Louisa.
  2. I will be staying in today downing a few bottles of warming malbec and then maybe ordering a Chinese tonight (for myself). I don't sign up to these middle class marketing events such as St Valentines day. Btw Gula, I love how you managed to fit 'East Dulwich' and 'Waitrose' into one sentence, well done :D Louisa.
  3. Some of the cyclists on this forum are fruit loops. Constantly jumping to extreme conclusions which are totally off topic not relevant to what this thread is even about. I drive a car, I accept some automobile users are d?&@heads, some cyclists are too. So are some pedestrians. Stick to the topic at hand and stop veering off into militant "I'm a cyclist and we are amazing just because I say so" it's boring the bejesus out of me and everyone else. Louisa.
  4. I think in general, this third application seems not to have attracted the same scrutiny and involvement as the first one which was removed by the applicant and the second which was rejected by the authorities. To be fair, I think there is some Iceland/M&S/Waitrose apathy on this forum too. It's like we are going around in circles as a few people have rightly pointed out, and the freeholder is pretty much running through an almost identical proposal and not budging much. I feel sorry for those on Chesterfield most of all, because all the negatives aspects will affect you most and yet everyone else is now just sick of the whole thing, and just want a answer either way. Louisa.
  5. Never had an issue at kings. Also bare in mind, it is the one of the busiest A&E departments in The world, not just the UK. It also supports a high density urban population, so statistically it will have higher waiting times surely due to sheer numbers? Louisa.
  6. Also interesting to note that it's all quiet on the western front with regards to information being shared with our councillor and Southwark planning department. It feels like they want to rush it through without any fanfare. Louisa.
  7. They may have supplied their address information and decided to keep it private. Fair enough I say. Louisa.
  8. To be fair, if the resident wishes to make a comment in support this application they are entitled to do so, and I'm sure if you guys contacted them the same way with your thoughts the council would out them up there too (more than likely not immediately judging by recent slow progress with accessing the documents online). Louisa.
  9. It's her shop. It's been like that for years. She made it clear she's happy and doesn't want to rent out the bottom half. So many busy bodies around here, if I was her I'd be at my window telling you nosey sods all to p^*$ off and do one. "Land banking" what a load of b@||@?%$. Louisa.
  10. Tate Dulwich with a Selfridges Light next to it. Louisa.
  11. The library is relocating I think to this new Tate of the art building. Morrisons will be next to it facing out onto the main road. With flats above? Anyone else? Louisa.
  12. It's some sort of temporary gallery until it's redeveloped into the new library/morrisons combined. Louisa.
  13. Has the EDF morphed into match.com :S Louisa.
  14. A chain will do not take it on. It's not a prime location. So yet another empty unit for years to come. How sad. Louisa.
  15. I'd rather go to Bromley on a direct train from Peckham Rye than take my chances jumping a bus to Oxford street. Where else are all the major retailers? They sure as hell aren't in this area! Louisa.
  16. We could never be as good as Bromley High Street. Sad to see this place close, definitely the best addition to the area in the last decade. Louisa.
  17. Oh how I would love Iceland to be listed as a working class community asset. One of the last in the area! Louisa.
  18. Don't forget Harvey nicks local and Harrods convenience too. Louisa.
  19. You'll find tickets on the link here Broadbean. http://www.traces-london.co.uk/file/Tickets.html Louisa.
  20. In response to 73gem and Alan Medic, I would hope that the majority of footfall will come from places like the village and forest hill via buses- and as mentioned a lot of people will use this store as a convenience when passing. That's what it is meant for. However, some will come from people in cars simply because it will be seen as a better option than the other nearest M&S stores. As drastic as this sounds, is there no way a handful of allocated spaces could be created for M&S customers only at the top of Chesterfield Grove? (near the car wash). Louisa.
  21. According to one of their clues, "X marks the spot" and it shows a "X" marked on a map at the address I mention above. So presumably the shop which was there has closed down or it's an empty unit now? And they've used it for this department store recreation. You can buy goods from the era which would have been available at the store during the 1930s. I must admit, this sort of hands on art brings it to life for me, and as you rightly point out, I reckon many people of an older generation would love to know about this experience, unfortunately not many of those people will be using computers. Louisa.
  22. PR and Huggers, please see the other thread in main section- details provided. Louisa.
  23. PR according to the clues on the Traces website, it will be held at 135a Rye Lane. Sandwiched between Khan's Bargain Ltd and the Sky Shopping City. This whole stretch of shops was once part of Holdrons Ltd, so yes PR it will be located within a small part of the old department store. Very exciting stuff. Louisa.
  24. Yes computed, i think the clothing alterations department was a big hit back in those days. People came from miles around to have wedding dresses made at Holdrons. Sadly not many people around today have memories of the store when it was open, we all talk about Jones & Higgins but of course Peckham had numerous famous department stores. Louisa.
