I think there is an issue of conflict of interest when Southwark council, and probably every other borough council for that matter, come to taking action against their own institutions or tennants that cause nuisance using evidence gained by Southwark employed enforcement teams. That's how it seems to me.
  3. You are right to try and get support from neighbours. It is very important that you also put down in writing, times, dates of nuisance. Also very important how it affects the quality of your life. Detail is important. Keep notes. Use photographs too and set the camera to record time and date where appropriate. When ringing the environmental enforcement team, get a reference number from the person answering the phone. The ref numbers begin 008, again get it all down on paper, you are building up a case. When the noise team come they make a subjective assessment which means they listen and decide if it constitutes a statutory nuisance, a criminal offence. If they consider it does they have the power to enter the offending premises and ask them to turn the music down. That is not the end of the matter though and it is a bit of a long haul. Make your local councillor aware of your plight too. basically make all the authorities aware and make sure it is all in writing, avoid phone conversations I feel for you.
  4. apparently you should select plus 15 to have any significant medicinal benefit....so I've been told

The work I mentioned is being done by F.M Conway Ltd. They undertake road and paving work and were the contractor responsible for the uphill stream, another of my blithering idiot threads.
  6. Nette. I didn't see your posting until I saw it this morning but I know when I'm beaten. You win. I love you

  11. Thankyou all for your imput. I think on balence I am going to bring this to the attention of the company involved and the borough works dept. Would anyone happen to know the correct person to speak to at Southwark Council? Thanks
  12. It would seem my posting regarding shoddy workmanship by Southwark Councils contractor has vanished overnight. Has anyone seen it? Ok, I've found it

Who is paying for it indeed. It's publicly funded I would have thought so you and I are paying for it, aren't we?

Yes, what you say is true, it is only for cables and not sewerage or water. I wonder myself if it matters but it's just not right. No builder who has received any training would produce this.

I've added a picture of the interior here, I hope it's visible. Thre's no mortar between some of the joints at all, none of it is pointed, other bricks are not lapped correctly. Either it doesn't matter or it does. I believe it does matter and not just aesthetically but structurally.
  16. But I can't stand shoddy workmanship. This is the brickwork done today opposite the coop on LL by the contractor appointed by Southwark Council. I know the faults in this work and I'm speechless. If anyone knows about brickwork and would like to comment, I would be very interested in hearing if you think this is passable and if so on which planet. I have added two photos, can anyone see them?
  17. I have been with Dr. Nadjafi's practice next to the post office on LL very good. I've had every kind of proceedure done since I've been with him and was a very anxious patient at first but have complete confidence now
  18. Mr Barber. Thankyou very much for your prompt and helpful assistance.
  19. Thankyou, your mail received today and reply sent. If you could assist at all, I would be very grateful. Regards

Hello Mr Barber. I had emailed you about a week ago now. I haven't heard back. It was regarding the FOI request. Thankyou > > Hi buddug, > Grove Vale pondiong. 22. I can't be arsed to file a FOI request! Is it necessary to file an FOI request. Isn't this information in the public domain? Have you made FOI requests before. I need to make one myself and would welcome advice on how it should/must be worded. Please advise me if you know. Thanks
  23. I spoke to a workman the other day who told me there will be at least a third pinch point and there may well run the length of peckham rye, he wasn't sure. I live on this road and as a cyclist I have had to to swerve out into traffic, naturally checking beforehand that there wasnt anything directly in my line, I can forsee speeding drivers going just as fast but right down the centre of the road where previously they didn't have to. People that drive like this will continue to do so because they don't give a shit about anyone else and it's fun to scare the living daylights out of oncoming traffic. I think we will soon see another bunch of flowers tied to a lamp post.
  24. Feel free to email me and I'll give try giving you a more specific steer. Thankyou, I have now emailed you. I am to hear from you in due course. Regards
