  1. My feeling is that things like potted olive trees get stolen to order for sale to landscapers in another part of town. A potted olive could go for ?500 in a nursery maybe ?200 to a landscaper then a charge of ?400 to the client. When I was a landscaper years ago, I was offered things like this.

Cheers I think they need resettling. I would be happy to come over with a spade and replant them. 10 L tree and shrub compost for each tree, 1 stake for each tree, 1 rubber fastener for each tree, a couple of packets of water retaining granules. PM to contact me. I am a horticulturalist.

  4. All the more reason to put into words your case and forward it to the planning authority, surely?
  5. I haven't seen the trees in question but also the high winds we have had will will make it hard to take root if the trunks are not firmly staked for the first 3 or so years, mulching around the base helps as does keeping the area around the base weed free.
  6. 177 will go down Norman Road on the eastbound route http://www.google.co.uk/url?sa=t&rct=j&q=&esrc=s&source=web&cd=7&ved=0CF4QFjAG&url=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.tfl.gov.uk%2Fassets%2Fdownloads%2Fbus-service-alterations-2012-games.pdf&ei=ebwVUKL1HKia1AWeuoCoCA&usg=AFQjCNFpJany7MT68zKjolsur9obg5tTPA
  7. I'm getting the 343 to new cross then the 177 to Maze Hill mid morning tomorrow, I hear it"s business as usual

You're right of course but if it isn't a nice middle class doggy that says sorry for the inconvienience, I do apologise but says go fuck yourself, cunt instead and sets said dog on to you, would you?

  11. Try asking the DJ or party goers to have the music turned down first. Yes, that is the right thing to do but ask only once. Put your complaint in writing in a trio of letters to the police, the Southwark anti social behaviour unit, phone 0207 525 1248 9-5 mon-fri and the noise team. Get their addresses and get it logged. If you smell dope, get the law in
  12. sorry, you'll have to speak up

An East Dulwich cinema, I don't think there is the call for it. Besides as Mrs B has said, support the initiatives that are already in place. You could always speak to the management of the Peckham Plex with a proposal about hiring cinema time to show films.
  14. I agree, I think this is an unnecessary, silly and wasteful proposal. Where some speed reduction measures may be useful is the bend at Stewart Rd, where Cheltenham Rd meets Peckham Rye East. I have often seen drivers taking the near blind bend at around 30 - 40 mph or on occassion more, directly onto the zebra crossing.
  15. Someone who is free from a substance abuse habit will have clear bright eyes, not glazed. They will have a fresh complexion, not ashen and pimply. They will have a good posture, not concave and slouched. This is not a delusion to see this difference but I'm sure your mates on here will be rolling in the isles at your ascerbit wit

It's very easy to see when someone is free from a drug addiction, they have a certain energy about them that isn't driven by craving but of course you have to be free of it yourself to see it.
  17. I never give to anyone who uses alcohol, narcotics of any kind or tobacco, until they can satisfy me that they have not imbibed either for at least one year, in which case I do. Until such time as people put a complete stop to their circularity, there is no point in supporting. When they do, and move into direction, I sponsor.
  18. The ginger headed fellow who sits on the pavement outside the co-op with a white blanket round him was huddled in the doorway of a shop oposite asleep at 6am this morning. He would seem genuinly homeless.
  19. Sir Michael Gambon sat at an adjacent table in the Dulwich Cafe about a year ago. He ponced a fag off me outside too
  20. I think the thing to do is to ask once in a mature reasonable way, but only once. Then go through due process. Get your neighbours on board where possible and when emailing cc your local beat officer as well as the environmental enforcement team. Do try at least once to notify the people involved what impact it is having on you but do ensure to get it in writing also and witnessed where possible. A paper trial is important in these matters.
  21. Yes, I think it's mild enough, the only concern is the high winds, maybe if they are well sheltered they are fine. As far as the amount of rain is concerned, what they don't want to take up for themselves will just pass by their roots. Personally, I wouldn't plant them out in their final growing place until they are about on their third or forth pair of leaves. Good luck

Was your father a professional or semi professional cyclist at one time? We used to talk about bikes.
  23. I have noticed over the last several appointments that I have had with GP's at DMC, that one rarely sees the same face twice, I have mentioned this in a consultation and the doctor I saw admitted that the management cannot hold on to staff for whatever reason. Locums , it seems, now hold the practice together.
  24. Is this the land that the sunday car boot has started using?
  25. I'm really glad to hear of undercover and plain clothed police work, I'd like to see a lot more of it.
