It is worth noting that when the noise team come to make their assessment from the interior of your home, they have a different reference number, 6 digits, from the one you can get from the person who answers the phone when you ring in on 020 7525 5777, which has 10 digits and begins with 800. You must ask for these numbers, they are not volunteered.

I think it a credit to those that came to the meeting how they put themselves over considering the force of emotion involved and I certainly felt it in the room. I think for many who experience this kind of protracted noise nuisance and consequent anxiety, depression and a dozen other emotional states, it is all too easy to go under and begin to accept that,'oh well, that's just the way things are'. It takes a great resolve and a lot of energy to pursue a matter like this through due process, all the smoke and mirrors of licensing law, at what point a landlord is responsible for the behaviour of the customer and at what point they aren't. Those affected are at least fortunate in that there are a number of you and so don't need to suffer this alone where it would be easy to be dismissed as a crank.

The alchohol industry are playing a very schizophrenic game, on the one hand, they are a hard nosed business that exist to make a profit out of you and on the other a friendly uncle who gives you somewhere to go and something to do in the evening....no wonder residents and the management are confused

I was a bit distracted myself with other matters, but non the less, a good mix of collectables, consumables and general stuff, a good half day out.

It has been a very fickle summer, weather wise. It's a good space. I do hope it takes off, I don't see why it shouldn't. I think the hours are too short, I think that's a problem. I went to the Wimbledon car boot on Saturday and it was heaving but then that is an established do. That's on from 8am to about 3pm.

I don't believe I mentioned the style of music, this is your assumption. It is entirely about volume. You wouldn't have found it annoying because you went there to be within the event, including the music volume. When pressed, I was told by the environmental enforcement officer I spoke to on the telephone, that there were over 35 complaints from residents who were not forewarned or consulted at all. There is an arrogance about it in my opinion from the event organisers. There is no sound insulation at all at the boundary of the venue and no consideration is made for the local residents. The volume is way in excess of what would be a statutory nuisance ordinarily. Like the DJ today, I also intend to have my voice heard and if anyone else wants to put pen to paper too, Please PM me. Every couple of years! No. The last event that was far too loud from that place was on the 29/4/12 and again on the 22/4/12 then one about 2 weeks ago.

All that I have been told is that if it continues at the same level at 20.00 they, the noise team that is, may come out although I know in advance that they won't find it at a nuisance level. I will be writing letters of complaint to the manager of the playground, Peckham Rye S.N.T, local councillors etc etc and want other signatories from those disturbed. Any takers?

Anyone else unable to think because of the volume of music at the adventure playground, Peckham Rye Park ? I have rung the noise team and been told that as this is a planned event the DJ can play his music at what ever level he wishes and that they are not going to do anything about it. I have been told that there have been a number of other complainants

Do you happen to know anything about T.E.N, temporary event notices by any chance. Thanks

I wonder if a tracking bug in the soil of a potted shrub would reap results. Hoping plant thieves aren't reading this thread
