  1. Hi There, I can recommend Shane Boothe, he runs a firm called Eco Boothe, trying to bring some environmental friendliness to cleaning, he's done two end of tenancy's for me and now organises my house, and office, his companies growing, so he doesn't do the cleaning any more, but his team are all lovely and trustworthy and he's still as affordable as when he was starting out. Added to which he's a local guy trying to make a business work, I've known him for a few years now and really recommend him highly. Shane Boothe Hope it helps. Dave
  2. I've no idea... which is probably why i'm looking for any recommendations for someone to come and help firstly clear some hefty old flower beds propped up by brick and concrete and then build, make, erect, install, whatever it is, two sides of garden fences. They're on their very last legs and won't survive the winter, or my half cocked attempts at fixing them any longer, all suggestions much appreciated, many thanks Dave
  3. The best bit of Frenchness I saw on Lordship Lane was the sign outside Bruno's Cave on Saturday morning after the France went' out the world cup, which just read "Bloody Germans' Vive France
  4. Excellent work, and thanks to everyone involved in making it happen! I saw it in a press release from Picture House excitedly talking about everything from reclining seats to a green roof providing fresh produce for the menu and a plan to reveal some of the hall's original beamwork! Nice, many thanks for all the hard work of all the people who helped it along!
  5. There was some talk ages ago of a Victoria train from East Dulwich, you don't know about that as well do you, or was it just rumour? Cheers
  6. Great news, well done to all involved, from F Gerry to James Barber, and a whole lot in between, that's a great (re)addition to the area. Thanks for your work pushing it forward.
  7. Having enjoyed a black Americano from all the aforementioned, and none of them bad, currently the little french / Boulangerie Jade place on the corner of Barry Road that used to be Homemade, is far better than all the others and worth the extra walk.
  8. I am a big fan of the Crooked Well, and a regular since day one, and think the Patch has been really great so far, and have a long relationship with the Nuns Head on a Sunday, but for overall points from music to service, to excellent roasts and general feel, having taken babies, friends, parents and distant relatives, I'd give it to the Great Exhibition, hands down.
  9. Those maps are great, well done to all of you who made them happen!
  10. Hello there, I hade Mice visit for Christmas (none of them wise or bearing gifts) and have been battling with them since with a costly and ultimately ineffective arsenal of glue pads, wire wool, foam filler, traps, electric plug things and general messing about under sinks, not to mention to much mouse suffocating in the middle of the night! Last night's Friday Night of the Long Tails, with a double glued Mouseacide broke us and this morning (Saturday) I got this recommendation from the forum, called Craig at 10am, he booked me in after an already full Saturday and brought an end to the siege of Mousengrad. Not only was he available on the weekend, he was charming, local, helpful, fast and friendly, not to mention his work comes with a three month guarantee and two free call backs should I need anything including reassurance. It was like being with a pest detective, he traced the source, followed their tracks in the dust and almost carbon dated their visits by their poo! He finished the mousassasination by giving me the breakdown of the kit I'd need if they returned one day after the guarantee and before the hour passed, he was gone. My heartfelt thanks and major recommendation, thanks Craig!
  11. Very nice chap called Ed did ours, local business to: http://www.edelectrician.co.uk/
  12. Excellent suggestion, thanks James, have emailed Mike Asa a resident and local business owner extolling the virtues of a Victoria connection in addition to London Bridge, please let me know if this thread leads anywhere, a petition or consultation emerges, or anything else I could do to help! Cheers
  13. Hello Spring Babies Ladies, looks like there's a meet up this week, and I'd like to let my wife know, she's due April 22nd, but hasn't been in ED long, and we were out of London for the Feb meet up, so she would like to come and say hello and meet some of you this time. But before I pack her off, I'm just checking I've understood it right and you're on for 10:30 this Wednesday 13th in the cafe in Dulwich Park? Many thanks, Dave.
  14. Hello All, I just spotted this as I've been looking for some pregnancy yoga for my wonderful, and increasingly pregnant wife, our first is due in late April, Vivi is new to East Dulwich, from Mexico, and I just told her about this thread and she'd LOVE to meet some local mums. Sadly we're away on the 9th, but if there's another get together sometime soon, weekdays work for her, then she'd really like to come along, she's not on the forum so if you don't mind me being an interested Dad i'll let her know? Many thanks, have a great time Dave
  15. Hello, I could really do with a good pregnancy yoga class for my wife in walking distance of Lordship Lane? There's a lot about, and it's a whole new world for us, so a good experience would count for a lot! Many thanks in advance? Cheers Dave
  16. It's still a lot better than those stick chaps off Lordship lane!
